  • All the time wasted for getting to know that the dradon was a GODDAMN ROBOT?!?! xD Jesus Christ! xD

  • I remember they had this game on arcade in a shopping maill here in Sweden :-D Great memories of the arcade, C64 and amiga version

  • I remember that game from the Spectrum :D

  • My first ever rental from our local video shop was the Sega Master System version, which remains my favourite of all games.

When I found the Amiga version in a second-hand shop, I bought it and couldn't believe the number of small differences. The worst element of the MS version is the horrible alternating platforms on the last level - mess up a jump and begin the level again. Amiga owners had it so easy.

Don't forget about the Monster World Original Soundtrack! This features the music of WBM

  • i remember i used to jump at every tree cauz' there were a lot of money hided on!

myconid master, 8bit sound, fuck*ng long loading times.....so nostalgic!

lol i never gone to last round and how surprise dragon'name is fornicatus!

please: note programming error: dragon fornicatus can 1/2 back turn but keeps flaming from right to left!

  • Did the programmers ever get to the final boss whilst making the game? The final boss is a robot dragon.

  • The vampire lord looks like someone in a bear pajamas

  • One of the better things about this version is how it actually shows the name of boss monsters.

  • Wow, this brings back memories.,..

  • Thumbs up if you wish AVGN would review c64 and amiga games

  • 5 gold get

  • 5 gold get..all your base are belong to us

  • Me gasté 3690 pesetas en este juego en El Corte Inglés, pensando que la foto de la caja era de la versión Amstrad. Me equivoqué :-(

  • when i was a kid i played this game but i dont go ahead from the 1 level because i was feared from the first boss xD

  • Played this a lot on the C128. Pretty nifty game.

  • Amazing first tune.

  • It's a shame that they always rushed Amiga conversions. Even the Master System had the maze at the end, and the dragon took on two forms.

  • Why is he wearing a diaper and tennis shoes?

  • @moneymaster93isbest

Adidas and Jeans werent invented yet!

  • my god, those were the days, aye ?

  • im cryin my fuckin eyes off :) hahaha thanks for the memories

  • Comment removed

  • I think this was a pee cee EGA game then an atari st game

  • Anyone else catch the Activision logo? This was back in the day when Activision was cool.

  • i had this game on the amiga copied disk but i swear it was just called Wonderboy! and i cant find it anywhere, mind you the disk is long died and i havent played it in a good 2 years :-) be interested in anyone who can convert ADF to Amiga Disk!

  • the sega mastersytem music sucks!

    amiga version is better =)

  • Played i alot on arcade when I was young, this guy doen't seem to know about the hidden gold like jumping on clouds and stuff.

  • I played this when i was 5 =D

  • Another shitty Atari ST port, with jerky scrolling, glorious 16 colour graphics, and as a bonus: Atari ST sound emulation.

    *VOMIT*

  • This version should have been availible on Sega Genesis as the launch title! (maybe someone should port this version to the Genesis, since Stormlord for the Genesis was a port of the Amiga version, so it is possible)

  • This was my favourite platform game ever, its just more playable to me than even sonic. Epicness. I would love it if somebody would do remixes of the songs! Amazing

  • Say, why isn't the Master System version this awesome when the PC Engine (which if ya didn't know is an 8-bit console with 16-bit grafx) has an arcade perfect port? I think the ol' SMS could pull it off.

  • Love it!

  • This is the best home conversion I've ever seen. How can you say the C64 version looks better?

  • @Monsterworldfan64

mmm...i think even segamastersystem port is better than this!

  • Lol diaper boy at the beginning!

  • This was a cracking version for the time, it just took so long to load between levels.

  • what ? ghosts are dropping usable items ???

    this version is weird

  • it's not a pretty bad conversion from what i see in this video.

    it's a very bad conversion...

  • dragonicus fornicatus??? WTF!!???

  • Wicked game!

  • Wonderboy, what is the secret of your power?

Wonderboy, won't you take me far away from the mucky-muck!

  • Ha! I don`t think many people will understand your joke :-)

  • @arczibeatbox HAHAHAHHA nice one :) yes tenacious d ;)

  • the music is so great in this marvelous game :-)

  • lol the ending

  • Wow, a Sega Master System emulator for the Amiga back in 1988/89!

  • 4 gold get? wth,

  • the SFX were recorded with a microphone in front of a TV speaker (or thats what it sounds like)

  • ho man....i have seen loads of amiga game videos...but this brough me ollldddd memories....damn...thx for the video mate!!these are the best games ever...old school ones..

  • BEST ENDING EVER!

  • That must have been one of the lousiest endings I've ever seen...

  • Does the Sphynx boss always say that he's in the mood to kill you first and then ask questions later or does he say something different sometimes?

  • my da used to play this an i always watch him for hours

  • For an Amiga game, the audio is embarrassing.

  • It looks (and sounds) like a straight port of the arcade version, which can be a good or bad thing depending on how much of a purist one actually is.

It certainly didn't play like the arcade version though! The controls were more fluid in the arcade original.

  • what the!... why is he wearing a diaper? lmao

i've never seen that and i consider myself a fan!

it's meant to be "cloth armor" !

  • buenissmo

  • Yeah the C-64 Version was better. And i miss the last version of the dragon and the aline ship flying away.

But anyway thank you for this clip. I showed it my girlfriend, because it was my favorit game on c-64.

  • That was pretty awful compared to the Master System version.

  • the final bosses name was fornicatus? lmao

  • Why the bosses weren't shooting nothing? o_o

  • ... i remember this one beeing cheesy and slow and bah! well, after all it looks nice in this video

  • These graphics are pretty good. Anyone know when this will be available?

  • Best

    Game

    Ever

  • WOw I remember playin this game and it wood ALWAYS Freeze.. never finished it in the end..

but OMG -What a SHIT ENDING!!!

  • ahh the good old days of gameing i used to stay up all night on this awesome stuff

  • A good thing you cut out the outrageous loading times... else you would have hit the 1 hour mark.

  • Yeah I played most on the Saga Master System in the Early 90's I loved them all, all the C64. Ammstrad, Spectrum, Agaia Atria ST and all the rest YESSSSSSSSS, BRING BACK THE GOOD DAYS OF "NICE" COMPUTER GAMES/

  • You are missing out a lot of hidden coins (especially on clouds) and didn't use the flute in Pororo for the alternative route. Or was it supposed to be a speedrun?

  • It really looks like a speed run. A there is a house where you can get full hearts & unlimited life.

  • WONDERBOY (first version) for AMIGA 500, I am still waiting for you!! why did you never come???!!!!

  • There's an inofficial PD-Version of it:

    hol DOT abime DOT net/1392

  • Thank you, I didn't know that.

  • Awesome, awesome, awesome! I just had huge flashbacks! I loved this game back when my Amiga 500 worked. What a nostalgia trip...

  • The soundtrack is still as awesome as ever.

  • You don't fight the dragon's second form in this version. Now ain't that a bitch!

  • I have played the sega 16bit version, must say that its much better then this one :/ though I have troubles with the last boss ^^;; too bad there in no play through on that one :P

  • There isn't a 16-bit version, you must've played on of the sequels.

  • There is one , just a remade one. all the bosses here are remade in the game i have

  • anybody want to play this game on the pc just use STEEM atari ST emulator and download the game for free

  • too colourful and blocky,

    C64 maxxed it with Wonderboy!

  • dam he missed so many secrets...

  • oo I like the sega genisis vers, pretty damn cool xD

  • Well, I just played through the Master System port and that one has really slow gameplay and poor, murky sound with less music tracks. There are more colors, but it lacks a lot of details and animations. Alo lacks boss introductions, text popups and a few of the enemies (no skeletons or mini-congos, no vampire lords, knights, mushrooms or congos as enemies). It does have the sphinx quiz and labyrinth (hate it) end level, less slowdown, and the bosses are often tougher.

  • Yes, the C-64 version was a better experience, especially when considering the limits of that computer. Amiga 500 SWB could be a much better game, like the original SEGA Super Wonderboy which had a very difficult last level, some sort of a maze, before the last "guardian".

That guy missed some good sword and shield upgrades, relied a bit to much on magic weapons.

If you have and post the complete Cadaver and Lost Patrol longplay, you will be my hero! :)
