  • its a European face.

  • Conclusions

The results of radiocarbon measurements at Arizona, Oxford and Zurich yield a calibrated calendar age range with at least 95% confidence for the linen of the Shroud of Turin of AD 1260 - 1390 (rounded down/up to nearest 10 yr). These results therefore provide conclusive evidence that the linen of the Shroud of Turin is mediaeval.

The results for the three control samples agree well with previous radiocarbon measurements and/or historical dates.

    Its not Jesus you idiots.

  • They use a VP8 Image Analyzer, a special computer that makes topographical maps of the moon, and OTHER heavenly bodies lol @1:27:50

  • i can see jesus's face coming out of my ass... HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Well, those were violent times. They could've had faked a Crucifixion with some unlucky chap and then created the shroud out of a real dead body. Though I think people wouldn't know that Jesus time's crucifixion would have the nails at the wrist. Anyway, a very cool mystery. And btw I am christian, but I would like more evidence before accepting it as authentic.

  • AMEN! AND AMEN!

  • is not leonardo.

  • THATS LEONARDO PPL

  • ok idk know but i got scared on this part ... lyk if someone didnt want me 2 know wat this meant 1:09:45

  • Jesus Christ Our Savior Leaves a PROOF of his face and telling us a message how he really loves us for everyone can see his pain on that shroud. Jesus Christ saves us from our sins that's the TRUE message of that shroud of Turin nothing more. To our God be the Glory in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ our Savior Amen.

  • @SuperSesey its NOT jesus!!! its based on someone leonardo da vinci knew. if you line up the faces, everything is symetrical, just like the mona lisa was based on da vinci himself! this was on TV last night

  • My grand father was a minister, and a very popular one not given to fetishes or different molestations. This shroud has as much to do with Jesus as my dirty laundry. Do your homework on this one folks. You are learning how to waste your God given life listening to this bunk about a 'sacred shroud'. Please stop and know the Lord would have it so that you did find something better to do with your lives.

  • You can't just tell people that they have never seen jesus/god , my mom had the same encounter , and it is possible . Some people are just lucky enough to get a glimpse of the son of god .

  • This is Irritating me , because i CAN'T SEE THE IMAGE THEIR TALKING ABOUT ON THE SHROUD :(

  • I believe in a man called Jesus, I believe he came here to save us, I have faith in that and I'm great full for what he did.

However I do not have a mind strong enough to ever imagine that their is a god.. I don't mean to offend anyone but in the world we live in where we see INNOCENT people die every day and INNOCENT people struggle to cope with their surroundings I couldn't grasp the idea of a God. I value each and every persons beliefs and wish you all happiness from your faith.

  • I believe in Jesus and God, Because I have faith I value every prayer every time I pray, Even though I cant see him, touch him, But I can feel him!

  • Praise Jesus! My Lord and my God!

  • 25,000th viewer!!!! :D

  • thank you for this 1h30 documentary

  • Wow! If that is the real face of Christ, then Jim Caviezel looks pretty much EXACTLY like the Lord in The Passion of the Christ. Proving once again that that film is the closet thing we will ever have to being there.

  • awesome vid. and if shroud is real then all u non believers are doomed:)lol

  • carbon dating is shit! another hoax to promote politicians and power holders.why not burn the asses of this information suppressors.

  • what the hell trying to make important what atheists are.

  • Why is date so importan?

  • Well jesus was jew :D

  • shroud of Turin is one of the greatest artistic work of leonardo davinci

  • @curiousgalaxy1 .. thanks for that sherlock :0)

  • @curiousgalaxy1 That would truly be a miracle because verifiable date of turin shroud pre-dates da Vinci by over 100 years

  • i see this is all about the image...Why is he not what the books says? More lies made by ego minded men....

  • please can anyone tell me how to download the Arabic caption for this amazing video

  • it IS possible, that the shroud is a photograph. read nicholas allen.

  • The shroud is real and has proven to be produced buy a supernatural effect

  • If only we had a picture of Jesus to compare with the shroud. Lol religious retards!

  • @LeeMcLoughlin1975 Please don't make us other atheists look bad.

  • @LeeMcLoughlin1975 .. no need

  • awesome its like assassins creed a message from the past epic

  • LOL THEY CLAIM THAT THEY`RE USING THE MOST ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

BUT I`VE SEEN THERE WINDOWS 2000 HAHAHAHA

  • @lawliet0413 ... windows 2000 is probably better than 7.

  • @doubts Not necessarily. In terms of software, there's little difference between 2000 and 7. The reason for this is because the program they used to render the model was likely older, and therefore no conversion to 7 was needed. Source: programmer.

  • @doubts grow up

  • I CAME HERE NOT TO WATCH BUT TO TELL YOU ALL:

I DONT KNOW IF YOU DONT CARE . .

BUT I WILL SEE JESUS CHRIST WHEN I AM IN HEAVEN,

    I DONT NEED SCIENCE,,,,

    JUST SAYING ^ ^ PEACE !

  • New evidence suggests the Turin Shroud was a source of inspiration for Elgar’s ‘Enigma’ Variations. The timing is right because Secondo Pia’s famous photographic negative became an international sensation five months before Elgar began work on the Variations. • @modernrocks , in what way have you studied this for years ? what research have you done ?

  • I have seen the only Begotten, and he does not look like they depict him. The labor of their endeavors proves that their yoke is not light, and they do not know God.

  • I believe in jesus , i am skeptical about this though..its a great documentary..it would interesting to know if this sort of crucifixion happened to others aswell as jesus ie crown of thorns , or something else on a persons head , and piercing of the side ? i should imagine that would be common to ensure the victim is def dead ?

  • @Jrld11 Beyond a reasonable doubt this is burial shroud of Christ for the following reasons.

    1) made of fine linen. crucified criminals were not buried in fine linen.

    2) of a man crucified and scourged. both punishments together unusual.

    3) legs are not broken, very unusual.

    4) chest wound, again unusual.

    5) crown of thorns, Unique.

    6) image on the cloth, Unique.

    7) All of the above recorded in the Bible.

If one still has major doubts, then no amount of evidence will suffice.

  • @amstellori i beileve that this the son of GOD JESUS CHRIST AMEN I PRAY THAT MANKIND WOOD BEILEVE NOW IN JESUS NAME AMEN GOD BLESS YOU

  • @amstellori fucking clown.

  • @MrProtuber seems we have another atheist, again a comment of zero value.

  • Comment removed

  • @amstellori The New Testament itself refutes the authenticity of the Turin Shroud. John 20:6 says it wasn't made of one piece. Specifically that there was a different piece of linen that covered the head. Three independent labs, in Arizona, Zurich and Oxford, were each given four samples, making 12 datings in all. The dates varied within expected margins of error, but all put the linen as younger than 600 AD. what more you want?

  • @amstellori just in case you need more, cause there is so much evidence against this bullshit...

  • @amstellori But i guess Factual evidence is of no importance to people of faith. So am just wasting time here.

  • @amstellori And to add to this list, although in this doc it did not mention it, but the shroud contains remains of flowers, consistent with first century Jerusalem area, that were placed alongside the body.

  • @TheHelo10 Yes your rite and the doc does mention it.

  • @Jrld11 Hi i studied this al for years, No one other than Christ (Yahushua Commonly called jesus) was ever recorded as having a crown of thorns, its unique. The lance in the side is also unique, the scurging was normal for very evil criminals. The common way to check death was to break the legs so any strengtyh and or breath was gone from the victim. The shroud is not essential if you believe, but it is really him bro.

  • There are multiple questions to be asked about the shroud:

1.) Does it date to the right era of the supposed Christ? Yes/no?

    If Yes:

2.) How do we know that the Shroud is from the the burial of Christ? Furthermore how do we know that face, is the face of Christ?

Don't fill in the blanks with what your religion wants you to believe, think for yourself.

Relics are BIG BUSINESS for the church, always have been, just like miracles, indulgences/pardons and curses.

  • I've never taken anything in the bible literally. I wouldn't say I'm an athiest, but I think a lot of it was intended to be open to enterpritation. Science has always focused on fact. And I've always been curious in anything that's unexplained. I really like how this was a new revealing breakthrough for both science AND christianity. Very interesting!

  • The man in the shroud has a bigger nose than the computer re-creation. No reason for the animators to make Jesus look like a gentile. In fact, the image on the cloth has a distinctly ethnic Jewish face. Jesus was a Jew and any re-creations of His image should reflect that He was a Jew. His real name is Yeshua.

  • This piece is so biased it's not even funny. The shroud is mysterious and will continue to be, but this program is so poorly done that I just have to laugh.

  • why are there so many paintings, photos, videos, and other stuff that show Jesus as being pierced in the right part of the rib cage and the blood on the linen is on the left side...

  • @mat31new You need to remember that the Shroud of Turin is not a painting or illustration, but an imprint; it shows what is essentially a mirror image of the man it contained. If you use fingerpaint to make a pair of handprints on a sheet of paper, then stand back and look at them as though they were a "drawing" of two hands instead of an impression, then the imprint you made with your left hand will look like a right hand and vice versa.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @TrentSteeele aha, i get it. they showed the inside of the shroud.

  • @mat31new Tell me friend, where in the Bible does it say that He was pierced on the right side?? The reason we view it being done on His right-hand sign, is because most of the world is right handed, so we like to think that He was stabbed on that side.

  • @pogorules15 i did not say that he was pierced in the right side. i was questioning why the pictures show him pierced in the right side while the shroud had blood in the left side, and the left side seems more relevant because its the side where the heart is and if the centurion was right handed he would've pierced Jesus in the left side. but, as @TrentSteeele said, the shroud is an imprint, therefore, the left part of the shroud is Jesus' right rib.

  • One Gospel author mentions the single cloth that wrapped the body of Jesus as it was taken down from the cross. Another Gospel mentioned the burial cloths left semi-wrapped--one for the face and one for the body. What happened to Joseph of Arimathea's single cloth? It clearly wasn't taken to the tomb. It also wasn't a burial cloth. Who knows.

  • @anebturia The cloth that was used for his head is in italy. It is one of the pieces that supports the Turin to be authentic because the blood in the head wrap matches the marks/stains with in the turin.

  • @hybridwhat i meant spain...

  • @hybridwhat Oviedo, Spain, to be precise.

  • I do believe that our creator had a purpose in allowing this cloth to survive over 2000 years, for this end time generation, I can only speculate as to why?, but if you look at all the fact's on this shroud, there is far more proof that this is the actuall face of Jesus Christ, than not.

I think it's God's kindness and love for us to provide us with proof when he want's us to have faith in him without seeing but out of love for us he still gives us tangable proof.

    Jack

  • Forensic analysts reckon the blood on ths Shroud of Turin is Type AB. If the Shroud of Turin does convey an actual image of Jesus, and the Shroud is so close to being authentic that its not funny, then Jesus of Nazareth had Type AB blood. To cut a long story short, considered opinion ascertains that the Shroud, being what it is, is totally beyond the capacities of anyone at all to have forged it. Crease lines above and below the head also appear on at least one portrait done in the 6th Century.

  • To more clearly see the image on the cloth,it is better that it be observed farther away..

The closer one is to the cloth the less clear it is... A bit like using mud be make a blind man see?

  • People My brother saw Jesus in real. He had an encounter with God. He saw his face. And he said Jesus looked exactly like the Jesus they have shown here

  • @vknarik please stop the maddness, even Moses could notlook upon the face of G-d the almighty. No one and i mean not one person in this day and time knows what the man yashua because there were no J's in the language back then ,son of Mary looks like.

  • @vknarik Is that so? Well did your brother who saw Jesus realize that this model isn't correct either. Jesus was NOT caucasian, as depicted here.

  • @pogorules15 I have said what I have heard and I know that my brother is not lying. Its upto you to beleive it or not!

  • @pogorules15 How do you know Jesus was not Caucasian? We don't know Jesus' skin color, and I don't believe it's of any importance.

  • @zeroslashj You are not an atheist. You must think I'm stupid!

  • @LeeMcLoughlin1975 Yes, I am an atheist. Who are you to tell me who I am or am not? :|

  • @LeeMcLoughlin1975 I may be "retarted," but at the very least I can spell correctly. Idiot.

  • @zeroslashj HE WAS BORN IN PALESTINE! Of course he wasn't caucasian!

  • @pogorules15 And of what importance is that?

  • @zeroslashj Do you know where Palestine is? It's directly north of Israel. Israel is right on the equator, and everyone who has ever lived near or on the equator has always been darker skinned. Use your head, he couldn't have been caucasian. Had his parents been American or European, then yes, he would have more then likely been white. But they weren't. All I'm saying is that the image depicted here can't be 100% correct. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, I'm just being logical

  • @pogorules15 Yes, logically he would have not been Caucasian, but we're talking about a demigod here. Not only that, Jesus has been depicted in numerous ways beyond just Caucasian, including Asian and African, thereby making Jesus a more personal figure rather than one you can absolutely pinpoint.

And no image can be 100% correct. That's just my two cents.

  • @zeroslashj I completely agree with you that He is more of a personalized figure, but you have to realize that he was more then likely to be what we would describe as a "typical Arab." We also know that He spoke Aramaic, so He had to have been of that "race". But I do agree that we can never have 100% full proof of what He actually looked like until we see Him for ourselves.

  • Awesome!

Scientists go where the evidence leads them.

Scientists have been studying the shroud for over 30 years and they cannot conclude what formed the image on the shroud. Its not a painting or a photograph.

If we are honest we have to come to the obvious conclusion. The Bible accounts are reliable.

  • @amstellori Hahahahahahahaha, based on THIS? There is literally no evidence for ANYTHING in the bible. Mainly because it is man written gibberish trying to explain things we don't understand.

  • @amstellori There is no evidence it is this poxy "Jesus of Nazareth". So we believe a picture of a random guy from a similarish era? God's a joke and religion too.

  • @RocknRollRules3 Since you don't believe in God, what are you even doing on this channel? What a joke!

Let those that believe exercise their rights. You have offered nothing at all of substance but that shouldn't surprise us as you are an atheist, who believes in nothing.

  • @amstellori So I'm not allowed to view a video because I'm not religious? Hmm. I assume you'd love to see society segregated with non believers cast out ;)

    glass houses...

  • @RocknRollRules3 Like I said you have acted like a typical atheist, you've offered nothing, apart from hurling insults at believers. If you'd said anything of value then there would be no issue.

p.s. don't assume what kind of society I would like.

  • @amstellori And you acting like a typical god worshiper rewriting history ;) Where did I hurl insults? I think I've offered my opinions on the fact I'm surprised religion has perpetuated this long when it goes against everything we use to accept things as real (evidence) and no one seems to have been able to argue against that. Mostly because 'God' is no more real than Santa Claus who brought me some lovely gifts last week ;)

  • @amstellori I'm an atheist, and I found this to be very interesting and educational. Don't assume this is typical atheist behavior please.

  • @amstellori scientists go where the "TWISTED EVIDENCE" leads them to conform to the true facts they want us to know hiding and filtering the REAL EVIDENCE

  • @rabisrabis man you are so bitter. can you handle the truth? the jewish community will be devastated when they come to realize that Jesus Christ is their messiah.

  • Time to wake up and smell the fake! Yes It´s a fake. Why dont god just tell us that he is real instead of giving us a dirty sheet?

  • @Smokesomeweed76 If you get into some reading you would probably realize that all the facts point that it isn’t a fake. The scourge marks on the body exactly match the size of a Roman whip, the burial is consistent with ancient Jewish customs, the body images are medically accurate, it is proved that the image isn’t a painting and the radiocarbon analysis was flawed, as it used medieval repair fragments. I am not implying that it is the burial cloth of Jesus, but it is unlikely that it is fake.

  • it is not just human blood it's the blood of the Messiah

"i am the light the truth and the way" john 14:6

this light from the resurrection made the shroud

  • Comment removed

  • And I also think the shroud was made from a man in the 13th or 14th century. They caught some poor fellow, beat the crap out of him, wrapped in a cloth, got the impression and called it the Shroud of Turin with Jesus image on it. Why isn't that possibility considered by these geniuses?

  • @kalyansubramani why on earth would someone beat up a guy just to create a persuasive artifact. Is it not a stretch to imply that a crafter of fake relics would use newly crucified man to achieve medically accuratee realism? Couldn't they just make a plausibly looking painting instead? Is there any of evidence, any record, that people were crucified in the Middle Ages to make relics? and who is 'they' in the first place? Sorry bro, but your logic doesn't make sense.

  • @kalyansubramani Because if you had been watching, they were able to retrace it back to being from the time of Christ. That doesn't mean that it is Christ, but the characteristics of how the person was beaten strongly point to it possibly being Him.

  • @kalyansubramani Thing is, there are paintings of the shroud before 13-14 century.

  • this whole this is complete BS. If the carbon 14 dating in 1988 was inaccurate because the sample drawn was contaminated, why don't they do the same again from a more reliable sample now? And the final re-construction with an artist's rendition completely distorts everything. why bother with all the 3D mumbo jumbo. you might has well called the artist first and saved six months work. Cant believe I wasted 1 hour 27 minutes of my life on this bull shit!

  • If jesus doesnt exist back then and he came out today. He probably end up in hispital accused of having some sort of mental sickness. Either way, i believe he's a good man. :)

  • what if jesus wasnt born two thousand years ago,and all history is a lie,re-written by the church, and jesus was around in the 13th century ? the shroud is real, not our history as it is told? jesus passed through the cloth.

  • what if jesus wasnt born two thousand years ago,and all history is a lie,re-written by the church, and jesus was around in the 13th century ? the shroud is real, not our history as it is told?

  • what if jesus wasnt born two thousand years ago,and all history is a lie,re-written by the church, and jesus was around in the 13th century ?

  • Guys all of what's happening in our world has a purpose. Lets uaw believe god let us believe the lord. He is good

  • Ask Jesus to come into ur heart and save u, u must understand that this is ours lords true face, I believe why can't u ppl believe, there is no other way, if u don't believe u will banished for 7 years of pain, ever scence I asked Jesus to forgive me, my whole live really changed. BELIEVE

  • how many prove do you guys need??? he is alive he is the truth,,,

  • @Arulraj89 One is saved by Faith, but Faith is not meant to be blind. We are called to be able to give an answer for the reason of the hope this in us (1 Peter 3:15).

  • @traceymedia1 really?

  • everybody is entitled to their opinion regardless of faith....whatever the mystery of the shroud..whether you believe it or not there was Jesus rose from the dead..Finally.He was scientifically revealed...reveal it also to yourself...

  • I guess this is a message that is pass on to us 2011 years ago ei O.o

  • Jesus was a lot darker in skin tone.

  • @DarkShonobi You don't know that. I'm pretty sure they did their research to get it right. If you have any Jewish friends you should know that this complexion is correct.

  • @DarkSwan641 okay.

  • @donteatthekalanchoe that's exactly what i remember from the Gospel. Anyway, we watched this in religion class last year and our teacher stopped it right when they were about to reveal His face. It finaly drove me insane and i had to find out! So here i am now, dog tired at around 1:50am! It was worth it...that was amazing.

  • the good novel is that Real love cannot be defeated either by evil of human beings, or by death, and that every one of us have the opprtunity to make this love living in own life. That's the beginning of light.

  • Comment removed

  • This knowledge of the Shroud of Turin was given to us at the end of the 19th century, just when our Faith would be harshly challenged. There are, of course, many who wish to hide the proof. Think of what it really means!

  • The " cloth strips" are mentioned in the full documentary, not this abbreviated version. Watch it to find out. Nevertheless, some men are of such bad will that nothing will get them to believe in Jesus Christ- the second Person of the Holy Trinity-God Incarnate, the Son of God. They persist in their unbelief and reject Gods great Mercy. How evil. Soon one knows that even prayer will not help them to convert.

  • wow, I really hate what the History Channel produces, they always lie somewhere...at the 1:13:10 point you will hear a lie that John entered the tomb, saw the burial cloths and believed his master had risen....anyhow the gospel of John actually says - paraphrasing from John chapt. 20 verses 2-10 - that John arrived first, but doesn't enter until Peter arrived & went in, and they believed (Mary's story) "For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead." (quote v. 9)

  • this is wonderful!

  • In an age where science and man kind are working feverishly to discredit our God and Maker, I applaud its use in attempting to prove, and stand behind Christ Jesus. Our Lord said that even Rocks would speak.... so why not a shroud.. in favour of nudging some people from death to life. Bravo...

  • What an excellent documentary (thanks Kate!) I don't know about the veracity of the shroud, but the evidence here is compelling. As a believer I do not need the shroud to back my faith... but as stated here...and many people, as did Thomas, have the opportunity to place their hands into His nail wounds, and be not faithless but believe.

  • If the Shroud of Turin is fake, then why are these people examining it's authenticity? That means it's true beyond any doubt...

  • Jesus never died to begin with.

He was risen to heaven and will come back down soon.

This face is the face of a nomad from the time.

  • Be cautious with the above, it's not scriptural. Jewish burial customs usually involved 'strips' of linen and a 'separate' burial cloth around the head. ( cf. John 11:43-44 )

"And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself." - John 20:7

  • Comment removed

  • @WiseDesire "Be cautious with the above, it's not scriptural." Sorry, you're wrong. The Sudarium (aka "veronika's veil", of the Latin word Vera, meaning truth, and Greek Icon meaning "image" - there really is no woman named Veronica who wiped the face of Jesus, just uneducated Christians. The person of Veronica is not scriptural) and the shroud of turin = 2 cloths = "linen cloths" of John 19.40 & 20.7

  • @donteatthekalanchoe Check out the book "A Doctor At Calvary". Surgeon Pierre Barbet, from a trained surgeons eye, tells the story of Jesus' torture and crucifixion through his examination of the Shroud Of Turin. It is a very horrifying book. Pilate really tortured Jesus so much hoping the Jews would be satisfied with that & back off the "kill him" thing.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @donteatthekalanchoe Who said anything about a woman named Veronica?.. =) The shroud is not scriptural. Sorry. Believe it if you feel you must but I choose that I will not. Just another sign and miracle of the god of this age.

  • Comment removed

  • @IsMackinac Okay.

  • @WiseDesire On the other hand, you may be right.

  • @WiseDesire "Strips" of linen is more an interpretation than a direct translation. Regarding the napkin around the head, are you familiar with the Sudarium of Oviedo, which purportedly IS said cloth and is seen by those who believe in its authenticity to go in tandem with the Shroud? The idea is that the Sudarium was used to cover/towel up Christ's head while he was taken down from the cross and moved, then removed before the Shroud was draped over his body.
