  • I spent some time trying to get a different Notification tone to play for IM. Being a PC expert, I am often baffled by the Android OS and why I can not do simple copy and paste things to do things just like this. Thanks Chris!

  • how do you do this on MAC

  • Thanks you've made this so much simplier!!!!

  • Great info. Thanks.

  • excellent !! thanks !

  • You can just go into your music, select the song you want (or whatever media file), hit menu, then more, then "set as ringtone". You can even trim the ringtone to just be the chorus of a song if you want. As for notifications I'm pretty sure this guy put the simplest way

  • just did it your way and it worked for the notifications.. already did my ringtones under the download file on the card cause thats where 1 was when i saved it from a message but it doesnt show up in ringtones like your way does they show up in the music note icon on the app screen.. works either way... once again thanks for the vid.. it saved me from goin to the 2 hour workshop at the verizon store and i dont know if they would have known how to transfer the custom ringtones and alert sounds

  • gonna try on my thunderbolt.. did a few of my ringtones a different way but it works the same.. will post my results... thanks for the vid...

  • For some reason the new window wont pop up on my computer.. and i switched the connection type to disk drive but still nothing comes up, it doesn't even say anything is plugged in, it is charging though. Any suggestions???

  • @johnnybgood3293 if its the first time your connecting your phone to the comp then u have to wait for all the drives to download... ive had the same problem where i had to try connecting a few times b4 it would recognize it.. also when your done dont forget to right click on the drive to eject it properly so u dont lose any of your info just to be safe

  • Was researching whether to buy this phone or not and ran across a review which said it only had the capability to use default tones. Thanx for clearing this up! ;)

  • @edrm1188 //news.cnet.com/8301-27080_3-20013222-245.html ... after reading this i would avoid installing any games from outside sources.

  • @msbolan No problem. If you need any other technical help... just ask i will put together a video for you! :)

  • @chriscarrillo42 is it possible to change notification sounds individually? I would like to change the low battery notification as well as other various sounds, but I can only change one notification sound that blankets all notifications. Thanks!

  • @msbolan i will research and get back to you.

  • Were did u download your ringtones from.

  • i want to get this phone..how is the ringer sound on the phone?? when you put it on the loudest ringer is it really loud? because i want to get it if the ringer is cool.let me know

  • BTW, if anyone mentions having a "Please insert disk into a removable disk" problem. Tell them to simply to Settings>Connect to PC>make Default Connection Type "disk drive.">Then turn off phone, and turn it back on, it'll work now. It had me stumped for a good while! It's like the phone has to be turned off, then on to change the setting. No need to unmount anything. Hopefully this helps people!

  • @BlackSpid3y Hi BlackSpid3y... you can have ringtones that are whole songs but it will only play like 20-25 seconds of the song and only the beginning. It is better to customize your songs to your liking. Thanks for the view!!!

  • @chriscarrillo42 thanks for the information :-D

  • Great video! Helped a lot, even thought I'm on a Macbook Pro, the set up is exactly the same, just in case those people out there aren't using PCs.

  • I forgot to mention that there is an app un the marketplace that is free, its the super Mario Bros soundboard. Once installed you can click and hold down a sound for about 3 seconds and your phone will ask to save as ringtone or notification.
