i used to put the ball ends on my rg in the tuning pegs like that too. only i would make the hole in the tuning peg look down towards the neck, put the string in that way then cut the open end of the string off. something i saw kirk hamett do years ago. only half a wrap(sometimes one full wrap) on the tuning post. works great and never had one break there.

No Problem, the only JS1000 that is on sale now is the Prestige model which is gorgeous, if you want the white one try Ebay, you might find a good example of one on there :-)
