2) REALLY funnny

The downside to "Just For Laughs" pranks:

1) The INSANELY terrible music they play with their videos.

2) The lack of "on the location" audio so we can get more emotion from the victim's reaction.

3) The horrific acting.

4) The annoying editing that makes it look like half footage used from the prank and half footage used from B-Roll and unnecessary cut-aways. Just play the damn prank with one camera all the way through...

It is not a real elevator. Modern elevators aren't framed with 2x4s. Obviously, it never ascends or descends, either. JFL stage hands probably shake it somehow to simulate movement.

This is fake because when you are on an elevator, you can feel the gravity shift as you go up or down. In this case the "elevator" would have been still for this prank to work, therefore making it fake and not believable.
