  • sometimes I feel....

  • I thoroughly enjoyed myself when I played this song the other day as my father heard it upstairs and came running downstairs, grabbed my guitar, and began playing along. They all kick ass

  • They made decent music, but they look like something out of The Devils Rejects.

  • i hear it and....just sing along and smile......classic.

  • how did we get from this, woodstock, jams and easy truckin music to ....justin beiber and tsa patdowns, etc.,etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum

  • ALLMAN BROTHERS "At Fillmore East" - Full Remastered Album - YouTube has the ENTIRE album - every song. Out of sight!

  • this is a bad ass song! does not matter if you like them or not.

  • without these guys i know there wouldnt be Frank Zappa, but i still really do not like these guys

  • @spoon149 i think zappa would have simply chosen another song to cover in reggae style ;)

  • There is just not music like this made anymore. Bottom Line!!

  • Came her cause of Lauryn Gray on American Idol...she killed this song, so I had to hear the Original. I never heard of it.

  • @ACPmoka American Idol? Fuuuuuck. They don't compare to the masters.

  • This is the epitome of good. Love the passion.

  • Pop is a good man

  • so fantastic!!!!!

  • my pop put me up on these guys.... amazing song

  • I have seen the Allman Bros. twice and their a great band to listen too.Talk about caring a music note.

  • heard this the first time a couple days ago dnt even like rock like like tht but this is the truth

  • Tied to the whipping post...wow how great is this song....now I feel really old....thanks for the memory! :)

  • good lord i feel like i'm dyin

  • My face has literally been melted off by the awesomeness of this song.

  • The Allman Bros. was my first concert ever & it was outstanding.

  • Duane Allman was one of the best. I will always miss him. S. R. Vaughn. J. Hendriks also

  • Intro is in 11/8 time, and repeats several times within the song; most of the song is in 6/8 time.

    123 - 223 - 323 - 4-and- is how I count it easier in my head when drummin.

then 123-223-323-423 in my head to

    then when SOMETIMES I FEEL starts, I count 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 since the drummin's a little different here.

  • kax

  • Very good track. One of the best of all time IMO. So much heart and soul you can feel it! Duane was a brillant guitarist as the band in whole.. If Jesus Christ spoke, this is what it would sound like.

  • i love riding children

  • the story of my life!

  • This is the only rock song with an intro in time signature in 11/8

  • @RighteousWilly woah! your right lol i would have never recognized that

  • @Pederson1995 Pretty slick for a bunch of boys from back in the holler.

  • @RighteousWilly Yea, don't count those Southern Georgia boys out..they will surprise you.

  • @RighteousWilly somewhere there is a Metallica song (Sanitarium?) in 10/8, and Money by Pink Floyd is 7/4.

    Know any others?

If you do, let me know.. I am looking for more 5/4 stuff & how to drum it so it doesn't sound like Desmond/Brubeck's Take Five

Notice how the intro is 3-3-3-2 on the drums.

  • @irvnz You need to check out "Tattooed Love Boys" by the Pretenders and, this time, you tell me what the odd time signature is, cause I'm trying to figure it.

  • @RighteousWilly that ia 7/4 = 4 + 3, though a rhythm guitarist hits the quarter notes and never goes astray. Listen to the snare— how he drops.

"I went ape-fire" "I had a good time" and the guitar solo is 8/4, or two measures of 4/4— what's to like is how the drummer keeps things fluid

  • Absolutely magical! Thanks for a great song.

Check out our cover of this un coverable song :)

  • GOOD LORD I FEEL LIKE IM DYIN?

  • FORGIVE

  • that's music, i mean come on??

    \

  • I THINK MY MOM HELPED WRITE THIS SONG

  • the Brothers started the southern rock scene, they were original, Duane definitly kicked ass !

  • alot of people say clapton or hendrix was the best gutarist, but i duane allman ranks right up there at the top.

  • @Missouriman37 agreed. he's def underrated.

  • @Missouriman37 Judging guitarist is like pretty women, they all great ! ! !

  • Comment removed

  • @Missouriman37 My dad taught me that Duane Allman will always be the best. At true legend. I still agree with my dad.

  • @Missouriman37 : Well if you believe (in) Rolling Stone Magazine, Duane was #2 in the their 100 Greatest Guitarists poll...Jimi was number 1...

  • @BOFSB12 RS are industry whores.

  • @Missouriman37 i disagree and agree, he was the best slide guitarist, and a great guitarist, but thats your oppinion.

  • @marshallman99ful Check out: Boz Scagg's and Duane Allman -Loan Me a Dime the full (13:45) version . And then tell me what you think. P.S. Skydog NEVER had one guitar lesson in his life, but he taught Clapton how to play dobro style.

  • great great song

  • even better live

  • burning weed and young girls 1973 tks for the reminder lol

  • Great song. Thanks for posting.

  • This is true music right here I wish I could have been there when they first came out

    Peace & Blues

  • Imagine all the pussy these guys got for making music like this.

  • i DON'T GIVE A RATS BUTT ABOUT GREG'S BAD HABITS !!! HIS MUSIC WILL BE CLASSIC LONG AFTER I'M GONE --- THANK YOU ALLMAN BROS

  • Amazing in so many ways. Very few rock songs better than this one. The drum cadence and sound is just perfect.

  • One of the GREATEST songs EVER!

  • Frank Zappa did fhis for his encore. What does that say about this song?

  • @flankdrive45 That it kicks fucking ass, that's what it says!

  • @xanos4225 ahh, a fellow zappa aficianto! kick ass. if frank did your song, there was really no higher complement, do you not agree? after all both bands played the fillmore@ about the same time.

  • eat your mushrooms or you'll have no acid for dessert, young man!

  • @PumpingSmashkins How can you have any acid if you don't eat your mushrooms?!?!

  • This is one of those songs I heard when I was learning how to play that let me hear what great drumming was all about.

  • dont know why that women wants to make me a fooo....lol..no doubt man...what a classic..

  • Any guy who's been through a terrible marriage and divorce can relate to this song.

  • I am "African American" and I love this song! I am a huge fan of CLASSIC rock and I knew exactly what whipping post they were talking about! Music is universal it's for all of us!

  • 53 people need to be tied to the whipping post.

  • i saw this performed on a flat bed trailer they played for a girls birthday in boca raton next to the everglade swamp not knowing who they were but it changed my life

  • This song is fucking amazing!

  • Thanks for shaing one of my favorite all-time Allman Brothers tunes...some damn good memories of friends and times had.

  • Can someone tell me how to get rid of these fucking Google ads?

  • Youtube comments sucks, sorry..

  • @JangoManiac56 , And yet, you USE YouTube comments, to state how much YouTube comments suck! Rather Ironic, huh? LMAO!

  • , The Who (and I'm not putting these in order anymore since the top but you get the idea), Santana, Country Joe (and the fish) McDonald, Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Deep Purple, Alvin Lee (and Ten Years After), I could go on and on, I listen to them everyday, and it goes into Blues Players after these, then there are the Rolling Stones and so on, Electric Light Orchestra, B.B. King, Bonnie Rhait, tons and tons more young people should be sure to check out! Hel anyone any age..

  • We partied so hardy in those days a lot of us didn't make it through them. The Allman Brothers Band is/was the best band of all time. Cream was probably a close second, then Lynyrd Skynyrd and there were a whole bunch like Grand Funk RailroadCanned Heat, The (Jimi Hendrix) Experience, Humble Pie, Traffic, Bonney and Delany and friends, The Band, The Doobie Brothers..

  • Me and my friends always sing this on chair lifts during ski trips

  • @Django5198 hahahahahah that's fuckin' great man!!!

  • @suckseedorsuckeggs I don't know why we started doing it but I think that it was cause we were on a really long chairlift and it kept stopping (it was freezing cold) and my friend just said "sometimes I feel like I've been tied to the whipping post" and then we all joined in. The swiss all turn around and just think "crazy brits"

  • @Django5198 hahahahaha, man,i thought you were making an ironic joke, can't see someone on vacation at a ski lodge being able to relate to that particular song, hahahaha, but i see what you mean man, that's still cool though!

  • @HappyAngerMan lol, your most right.. i stand corrected sir! :)

  • @lucius215 kicked?...you mean kicks!

  • @11musicgod11 that too.

  • Allman Bros. were the best southern rockers. Ain't never been the same since they lost Duane and Berry. RIP boys.

  • I hate women.

  • @Noremorse10 I'm sure not all of them hate you.

  • RIP Duane

  • how about that last vocal vibrato

  • Sure, Duane. Has anyone appreciated what a great singer Gregg is?

  • Hell of a band. No equal in what they did.

  • Dickey Betts is the jam!

  • LUV IUT \m/ G.A \m/

  • this and midnight rider are the 2 best

  • my all time favorite Allman Bros. song - the screaming lyric tells the whole story and God, I feel his pain - just the way I felt it when I heard it for the first time as a high school kid - standing in the orchestra (general admission) seats with a bunch of other hot, sweaty kids at the Philly Spectrum in 1974. Musical thrills like that are just a memory now - but thanks to this, Allmanbros 89, I remember every nuance! thanks.

  • I have an audtion with a southern rock band and I have never listen to or played southern rock in my entire life. I thought it was just for peolpe like my dad, now I have been enlighted southern rock is the most awesome thing ever

  • Good Lord, I think I just died

  • GREGG IS THE MAN AND THATS SAYING SOMETHING IN THEESE DAYS

  • Great.Now i have to find "eyehateyoumotherfucker"s post.

  • Damn. I hear this ELEVEN years after my woman done run off and this song rips my heart wide open. I LOVE the Brothers. Just music and lookin' at Lauren Francesca makes me whole again.

  • oh God I feel like I'm dyin'

  • Heard this on the radio & had to hear it again!

  • This is Phish for hicks.

  • what ever happened to dicky betts ?

  • @TheA8markmwb That legend got kicked out of the band in the 90s after playing since the late 60s by Gregg. Im not dissing Gregg, he is awesome too, but if Duane was still alive, he wouldnt have let Dickie get kicked out..after all he had done for the band. He wrote so many songs, and he was family.

  • Damn DUANNE dont get no better been there anyone?

  • one of the greatest songs in music history (past, present, or otherwise)

  • Duane Allman is god

  • Old Man Again... This is an ageless tune...Who hasn't been "Tied To The Whipping Post"... At my age, it seems endless... W
