  • Finally,good explanation that works.Thanks

  • why are there 2 identical blue ribbons that goes across the screen on one recording? do they serve different purposes?

  • @utubenotsoku It's called stereo. ;-)

  • thank you. your instruction was very helpful to me. btw, do you know how i can insert a new short recording into an existing recording?

  • Pretty simple directions....No hidden stereo mix option when I right click though. What now?

  • @BlackShogun Do any hidden options appear? Or is is possible that your sound card already appears? It may be named something else.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=DmfqLrOyhAA&feature=related

  • Thank u so much

  • Amazing! Helped so much! Just so I know if I want to record my voice on Audacity as well as sound, would I be able to do that? If so how? Will I need to experiment and be constantly changing it from Stereo Mix to Microphone?

  • Very nice. Thumbs up!!

  • Oh, nevermind. I got it to work :)

  • I only have Microsoft Sound Mapper and Microsoft Realtek High Definition. Which do I pic or should I uninstall Audacity and get a different version?

  • that dont fuken work!! there's no hidden devices or "stereo mix" in my laptop!! and this laptop is brand new wtf

  • Thanks for this very helpful tutorial! It really solved the problem I had been wanting to find out of why I couldn't find the audio input device! It was killing me that I couldn't get to that next step!

  • The Windows direct sound primary capture, wont show up in Audacity.. Please help!

  • STEREO MIX HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM MANY PCs FOR ITS THREAT TO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT. iknow. it sucks.

  • It's working thanks very much !

  • Crap video! Didnt work, now the moments past and didnt get the tunes i wanted.... rubbish!

  • @Tblackburn89 I am sorry that the video that I posted for your free use - a video which has led dozens of other people who have patience and can follow directions, to success - did not provide you with the immediate gratification you so desperately desire. Perhaps next time you should try masturbation

  • @sirmorphalot Cool, thanks for the tip. Should I try left handed or right handed masturbation? Perhaps you can give me some good instructions?? And I''ll try not to let the moment pass this time!

  • @sirmorphalot LOL!

  • @sirmorphalot thanks very much i got it to work now :D

  • damn i have no "stereo mix" in Recording menu... Only have microphone.... ugh...

  • OHHH MYYYY GOOOD! I have waited so long for this video!!! Thank you!

  • device toolbar is clicked not showing up at top or anywhere so we cant capture doodly squat or audio. what to do?

  • @TheHenryccrider The toolbars can show up in different orders. Make sure it hasn't appeared below other toolbars rather than at the very top.

  • Thank you so much

  • i love you

  • my stereo device doesnt show up when i click on the show disabled devices what do i do now?

  • @headphones741 It might be called something else.

  • Youtube refuses to allow me to paste links into my response, so the best thing is to type "How do I download and install the LAME MP3 encoder?" into Google (the quotes will help) and follow the instructions on the Audacity help page.

  • I looked in the view area and there is no device tool bar.

  • @Jenatavivi16 Did you click "toolbars"? Every version of Audacity that I have has it under View -> Toolbars

  • mine is still recording the mic

  • @gunboss201 First, check that you've enabled your soundcard as a recording device AND set it as the default (1:15 - 1:30 in video). Then, make sure that you have selected your soundcard output as your input in Audacity (2:12 - 2:35).

  • @sirmorphalot yea i figured it out, i have to restart my audacity(which i was running at that time when i was enabling stereomix) before it will work, thanks again

  • I am using RealTek HD Audio Manager. But I am not getting any levels on my recording. Everything else is working. Thoughts?

  • THNX!!! Your @wesome

  • Alright It works but I can hardly hear anything. Hint?

  • @OzzytheDjman Two things I can think of. One, make sure that the flash video you are playing is loud enough. Second, check the recording volume level within Audacity itself.

  • I had my doubts, but it works very well.Thank you.

  • thanxxxx. It Really Works. This also works for WIndows Vista

  • i dont get stero mix thing when i right click show hidden devices

  • @deathdemigod Are you using Windows 7 or another version of Windows?

  • @deathdemigod Are you using Windows 7 or another version of Windows? Do you have something called "Digital Audio"? It's not always called exactly the same thing.

  • Hey, I don't get the install part. I clicked on the 1.3 Series (Beta) button and all I got was this page with, well, nothing about installing it. Help!

  • @NikkiGraves21 You need to make note of where you are saving the file when you download it. Locate the file and double-click on it to begin installation.

  • Thank you!! I've watched another tutorial and the person did not explain the other stuff you mention after setting stereo mix as default player.

  • thank you so much your tutorial was simple and easy and you explained everything right subscribed :)

  • Best one on the topic I have seen.. others only give partial information most of the time.

  • finally some one smart enough to put one up for window 7 thank you

  • mine still doesn't work. Weird. My cpu at work uses the old version and records anything that is playing...iTunes, etc. My laptop here at home with Windows 7 does not. I tried everything . This sucks....

  • Thank you very much for this! Well done!

  • Holy shit thanks man! It took me sooo long to figure this out until I watched this.

  • Thanks so much for putting out this video! I didn't think I would be able to use Audacity with this operating system...

  • I had to update my motherboard sound driver to get the mixer to show up in the list, but your tips were exactly what I needed. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much, sirmorphalot. I was having a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to get this software to work with Windows7. This was a great help!
