as ozzy said...sabbath was a blokes band...working mans band.....if some of the gigs were crap,..then so be it!!........bands like ..elp....rush..yes.......are so talented...so out there...that it was never fun,,,,it never got my dick hard
Listen to the (more pertinent than ever) lyrics to this song. Black Sabbath were geniuses of expression...war & killing/greed are products of the devil...
Venom & Slayer were not the logical consequence to the musical ground laid by Black Sabbath...they were merely picking up on the sensationalistic aspects put on Black Sabbath. Stryper has more in common with Black Sabbath, truth be told...any band that believes in trying to love your fellow man, instead of competing with & hating him.
Reading Rudy Sarzo's book about his time with Ozzy, I saw many critiques in that time speaking badly about Ozzy's stage performance. Even the late Dio used to get on Ozzy's case in several interviews. The thing is that I watch Ozzy over any other frontman that "has an act", because Ozzy's one of the few that is sincere in his performance and doesn't put on a show when he addresses the audience. He's one of the greatest in my opinion. Blizzard of Ozz band was great!
@MrMetalbeast123 He may have, but not to my knowledge. Rhoads did on the Tribute album, which in my opinion is a much better version than this (course it wouldn't take much). Guitar chops are awesome and Ozzy is actually singing on key. That's how it is when you can pick and choose live performances.
@PortsmouthFilms can you say this wasnt a miserable performance, and btw i know a lot more about all forms of music than you do, i can tell from your statement and ur taste
@WeedVulva You can't argue with drugged out ignorance. Don't waste your time. I play all sorts of instruments and styles for many years and this sucks. The Tribute album was awesome because they could pick and choose the songs from the tour that were the best musically and vocally. This PortsmouthFilms guy has a got a bigger problem than drugs....he's tone deaf!!!!!!
Ozzy has always had pitch problems in a live setting. This is bad. Although, I have to admit, he was much better in 89 at The Moscow Music Peace Festival billed as a solo artist with Zakk Wylde (guitar), Ronnie Castillo (RIP) drums, and Geezer Butler (bass).
yes, it was for a good cause. but WHO DOESN'T BELIEVE BOB GELDOF BUILT HIS WHOLE CAREER around this event..? all his music sucked, and now him & bono think they rule the world
@Dannymusic1999 Ultimate Sin (1986) came one year after the event (1985). By the way, anyone else thinking the direction sucks big time! I mean, during the solo they're showing Geezer and Bill, which they had absolutely forgotten during the rest of the performance!!!
@kostasxrysogelos i start getting the impression that this is a general sickness of concert directors, no matter if its metallica, deep purple, led zeppelin, opeth, black sabbath or whatever... its always the same!
It's cool the celebs came out to be there but did Chevy really have to read all that crap? Just say "send your cash and make a difference, now here's Black Sabbath to kick your A##.
@lukevertiis live aid 1985RANDY DIED he he came 2 ozzy and said oz i think um quiting the bad i wana go back 2 school .the next day oz was sleeping on da bus WENT OUT SIDE AND EVERYONE WUZ CRYING HE SAID WHERES RANDY AND THEY POINTED 2 THE BARN ON FIRE FUNNY THING WAS RANDY WAS SCARED SHITLESS OF PLANES HE WOULD NOT GO ON THEM SO WUT HAPPENED THERE WHY DID HE GET ON THAT PLANE
@brentwoodthehood ok fuck head if youre gonna get on here and talk about randy get your facts straight he got on the plane because airial photography was one of his hobbies the pilot was on heroin he tried to buzz the bus and failed the plane crashed and burned them all to death instantly the only way they were identified was because of dental records and it didnt happen the next day randy and ozzy agreed that after the tour randy was going to go get a degree in classical music
@VicRattlehead6661 Well, Ozzy wasn't in Black Sabbath in 1985, actually the band hardly exsisted in 1985. After 1984, when Ian Gillan and Geezer left the band, only Iommi remained and worked on what was really to become a Tony Iommi solo record, but was released as 'Seventh Star', under the "Black Sabbath feat. Tony Iommi" banner, w. Glenn Hughes on vocals.
lol new zealand settings going across the screen feel so proud lol, even Hawera was on there home town haha, love u ozzy u so wasted on coke love u 4eva my man
Live Aid was a multi-venue rock music concert held on July 13, 1985. The event was organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia.
Ozzy was really nice, BTW, energetic and friendly and goofy, if a bit drunk most of the time. Bill had just gotten sober and didn't want to play with him because of it, but he had a good time at this show. He said that Iomi was an egomaniac and was trying to sue for rights to the band name, even though he didn't want anyone in the band to play with him. He lost. Glad to know they worked it all out, nowadays.
Sabbath was in shambles at this point. Ian Gillan had left the group to do the Deep Purple reunion tour, Tony Iommi was fighting with the record company (Warner Bros. I think?) to put out a solo album, and Ozzy was riding high (in more ways than one) his solo career. Iommi wanted Ozzy back in the band, but he refused to continue on his solo career (according to the CD booklet for the "Born Again" import remaster)... (Continued)
Iommi would go on to make the "Seventh Star" album (which was to have been his solo album, hence the "Black Sabbath featuring Toni Iommi" artist credit) with Glenn Hughes on vocals.
That album, along with "Born Again", have not been released on CD by Warner Bros. in the US, but can be found/obtained via other means (import CDs, iTunes, etc.), which is a shame as "Born Again" was not a bad album (IMHO). A shame that Live Aid was trying to advertise it during this performance (a non-Ozzy album).

Rhoads was never in sabbath, if he was sabbath would be even more epic than ever. Rhoads and Iommi on one stage would be rape.
