I personally think it's a good thing to take beats and tunes from old songs and make a new song out of it. It's like recycling. simple as that keep it up bro
I hate how rappers can't come up with their own melodies for their songs. They either steal a riff from an old rock song or thew synth rhythms from an old techno song. The proof is in multiple places. This song for one steals the voice from Daft Punk's song "Harder,Better,Faster,Stronger",Puff Daddy had Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin play the riff from the Led Zeppelin song "Kashmir" in his song "Come With Me",and I don't know who does the song, but they pretty much stole "D'yer Mak'er" as a whole
These "artists" meed some originality in their music. Also Puff Daddy stole the riff from The Police's "Every Breath You Take", changed the words around a bit and released it as an originial song "I'll Be Missing You". And(I can't believe I'm making this reference) Vanilla Ice's "Ice,Ice Baby" stole the bass riff directly from "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie. I know rappers aren't going to read this and say "I guess I'll change my music now". All I'm saying is don't patronize theft.
Your an idiot. Daft punk samples a lot also so please, were waiting for you to make a post about them "stealing".
And sampling isnt stealing you "theft" you tool They have consent (vanilla ice however didnt) and many times they actually work with whoever made the song
But thats all irrelevant because there are many popular rappers that come up with their own melodies.
You do know that "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" was a sample of "Cola Bottle Baby" by Edwin Birdsong right? Kanye West actually makes the melodies for most of his songs, but I guess 1 song means he's completely unoriginal. Your comment is simply ignorant and neglects the fact that A) these rappers became famous off their own accord before sampling melodies and B) they have to receive permission from the original artists to use their song.
There's good sampling and bad sampling. A lot of the songs you named utilize bad sampling, as they just take the beat of the original and add some extra percussion. Good producers take samples and use them in creative ways. In this case, Kanye only takes the vocals of the original to retain an electronic sound, but adds a completely different instrumental arrangement and changes up the chord progression. Sampling shouldn't be considered stealing, especially when done right.
@StepFreq94 They don't steal, or soever they obtain the rights to recreate the song
Thats why it's called a remix but I do agree as a mainstream artist to create your own melodies, most new rappers start with remixes. When you're already getting all that money might as well create your own. But then again a remix is a remix and if I as a musician feel that this can express it the best then so shall be it
