This movie was literally 8 years in the making..donnersmack wrote it when he was a student in the film school he went to in munich..and its strange irony that it took him 8 years to get things together and finally make it..my favourite fim of all time no doubt !
This is my favorite movie! I cried at the end when the Stazi Captain is in the bookstore. When you see the movie notice the appartments they show. Dreyman's, Jerska's, and the Stazi Captain's Movie is a masterpiece.
And yes the apartments........after a few years in "Exile", I now live in East Germany again. And guess what, my new apartment still has the bright wooden doors with the glass. lol
