  • I enjoy this song very much but try to stick your neck out it is distracting to the song. Also good dynamics.

  • To coverd great though

  • Who "disliked" this? Even the comment about "...my least favourite of[the] 'Songs of Travel'..." praised the performance. No other comment contains a negative word.

If you dislike something, at least say why!

For me, I love the song, and the performance is as good as the best I've ever heard.

  • LOVE IT! tone, character, diction: superb. pianist equally wonderful. great help for me, cuz I'm accompanying a friend on this this semester. Thanks! =)

  • This Is also my level six nyssma soli

  • You sound great on your diction and dynamics friend, in what key are you singing?

  • @mariachib4 it's c minor. Though I've seen the piece in B-flat minor. not sure which one is the transposed one :p

  • I'm singing this for my level 6 nyssma song... Hope to get into all state. wish i could sing like this guy though :\

  • Like all those who've posted so far, I really like this rendition -- and this is coming from someone who's just listened to John Tomlinson's version at the Royal Albert Hall with orchestral backing! Great tone, great diction (except for one place, IIRC), and clean lines. Maybe a bit too clean for a Vagabond? I've been wondering whether to try this as an audition piece, torn between it and Holst's 'Ushas'. Still undecided, arghh! But great job, another tick in the VW column.

  • hi ed! how are you? i am in my music lesson and i was listening to William Herschel and then I decided to listen to you. btw wh is best known for finding uranus but he also composed music!

  • Impressive performance of a difficult Vaughan Williams piece.

  • absolutely beautiful. did this song for solo&ensemble yesterday and im goin to state with it =D

  • I REALLY like this, GREAT JOB!!!

I'm thinking of singing this for auditions.

  • I've sung this piece many a time and he did a GREAT job on this one!!

  • Good job, Edward!

Beautiful, rich voice, even quality throughout th epiece, very good dynamics, excellent diction, wonderful, sonorous tone.

I will take your performance as inrpiration.

    Wonderful!

  • great song great singer!

  • hi ed, its me caroline! Good singing! :):):)

  • C minor

  • This is fantastic!

  • classic - beautiful - thankyou

  • c minor at first

  • really beautiful... you really know how to sing it.....

  • This is a great song for your voice. Carol Kimball writes about this song in her book, and she talks about the declamatory nature of the character. You perform this song wonderfully, but maybe we could all take a page from her book and be more narative while experiencing the character.

  • Very nice :)

  • hello edward its mee

    ralph vaughan williams

  • Awesome. Serious props to your gigantic accompanist, too!

  • Nice work Edward. This was a pleasure to listen to

  • hello edward its mee

    caroline

  • Touching performance. Why did only 142 people watch it? Where did this take place?

  • I have to admit this is my least favourite of Vaughan Wiliams 'Songs of Travel' but none the less very well done. Have you looked at the rest of the cycle

  • Stirring.
