  • @TheNw1218 simple reason

    cost..!

  • the narrow gauge one was called Renehas

  • @leokimvideo I have ertl thomas x2, bill, annie, henry, percy, george, duck, sir handle and peter sam. And even a thomas carry case with loads of small compartments to put the trains into. • @desiredbard thanks, I am often corrected by people far younger then me

  • @leokimvideo I can help you identify many Thomas and Friends characters, if you like.

  • @ALITITANIC I have not tried a HO with motor conversion. What I am eyeing off is possibly doing a large chugger ( interactive) to HO, still thinking about it.

  • rah-ney-ess

  • The End with Diesel 10 on the tracks reminds me of the cliffhanger ending in Misty Island Rescue where Diesel 10 warns the steamies about what is soon to come.

  • @Sketchy2009Studios I can guarantee this is just by chance, I have never seen Misty Island Rescue

  • you say rheneas with a short ass.

  • @songohan619 It was the ass bit I was afraid of, I have noticed if I ever say something wrong here I never live it down, sometimes best if the loyal audience can tell me the truth

  • will that diesel ten ever w\be in a episode of mad bomer

  • you say use the right screwdriver for the job , so why didnt you ? triangle shaped head and u use a posidrive driver ???

  • @gez021 because I often think outside the square, and it was a personal test for you, well done you passed with flying colours

  • how did you make your fat controller .when i try to add legs onto the take along he just falls apart. seems like he is tool samll to modify

  • @LEON13858 I will do a video on making the tiny fat controller, if you look one of his arms is falling off in the video..lol

he is really simple to make believe me.

  • well duh the red engine is renas

  • All these take along videos are getting me excited for mad bomber ep 2, whens it coming weve been waiting for like two years, sorry just wondering please dont block

  • to me that looks easy

  • I have converted a Take and Play Ferdinand, a Breakdown train Flatbed, and a Sodor Supply Car.

  • thomas71551 the engines name is Rheas

  • @thomas71551 thanks

  • The narrow gauge engine was Rheneas.

  • @thomas20871 thank you

  • the engine before your narrow gauge one is called diesel

  • @roadwolf2 well, thank your for that

  • The narrow gauge loco should be running on 009 or N gauge track

  • @cotchsteamrailway yes I know, but I only have HO, I believe it's the gauge that is the most popular, am I right there?

  • @leokimvideo OO/HO is the most popular, but narrow gauge etrl models run better on OO9/N track, but use OO track so I don't use the narrow gauge locos

  • @leokimvideo OO/HO is the most popular, but narrow gauge etrl models run better on OO9/N track, but use OO track so I don't use the narrow gauge locos, I seen a etrl Rusty on N gauge track and it looks brill!!

  • Have you seen the movie Thomas and the Magic Railroad?

  • @DiamondThomas No, I really only know the first 5 season of Thomas, to be honest the latter stuff did not capture my attention.

  • His name sonds like "Reh-nay-yes"

Interesting fact: Sodor has it's own language, Sudric, so Thomas shouldn't speak english...

  • @super58173 Thanks

  • im in the UK.... and been to lots of model shops and theres nutheing, i did go online i did find some but its in dollers...and i can`t change to uk standers... what shal i do?

  • Leo, have you ever thought about giving them actual running chassies? with wheels and rods of course its expensive but it would like and run incredibly

  • so you could make a mould of 1 engine, then make a million copies for "free"

  • @MrTrainboy1 ah but that is possibly illegal!

  • 1.take a deep breath

    2.think of someone you like

    3.press f10 five times

4.send this to five youtube videos

    5.look at your background

  • @hawkinsquad I did and saw a ghost

  • YOUR AWSOME by the way how can this work on splatter as he has rivets please tell me im very interested to know

  • my train has a star screw

  • You should make a tutorial about converting ERTL models to HO track.

  • @UltramanCronos The problem there is not many of todays tubers have ertl's, they are a bit of a collectors item.

There are lots of similarity between the take along and ertl conversion, I think the ertl is easier as they tend to be longer in length.

  • Where can a screwdriver with a trianglar head?

  • @mrduckandBubbles lol, in the video I used something different as I could not find one at home.

Good tool or hardware shops usually have small sets of security screw drivers, there are quite a few different styles of heads.

  • I've actually done a few of these.

  • Your narrow gauge locomotive is Named rhenaes, if thats how its spelled

  • @ColumbiaAndHoodRiver I just did not know how to say it.

  • @leokimvideo oh...

yeah, his name has some, ahem "difficulties" to say his name

  • @ColumbiaAndHoodRiver Exactly, was not sure how much 'Ass' to put in to the name!

  • @leokimvideo well tell it like this

    re-ne-as

  • @leokimvideo you dont have to be rood .dont say ass its discusting eeeeeeeeeeeeeehjjjjjjj!

  • @ColumbiaAndHoodRiver your rite it has got some difficulties to say his name technely its unprounouceable

  • @leokimvideo: It's pronounced "Ruh-Nay-Us"

  • @leokimvideo it's pronnounced: Renayus

  • @leokimvideo Re-nay-as

  • @leokimvideo those that exsist in real life

  • @leokimvideo Rah-na-as

  • @leokimvideo its simple to say rhenaes (just say reh-nay-us)

  • Cool. You are good at this leo :)

  • @ColumbiaAndHoodRiver Actually, it's Rheneas, pronounced ren-AY-us.

  • have u throth about useing metel wheels rhey run even beter i like proter 2000s

  • @theshedrailway Metal wheels are good, but also quite expensive!

  • You're going to put narrow gauge engines in your show?

  • @super58173

Yes, they will play out a part even though they are running the same HO Guage in model form.

  • @leokimvideo-So, the narrow gauge be looked at as the same size as the normal engines, will they be looked at as smaller? (I take it there's alot of preperation going on).

  • @super58173 Yes.

  • have you got any more open parts?

  • Hey, if you get the Take-N-Play Hank, may I voice him for you?

  • Did you put Rheneas on an N scale truck?

  • your experienced All Around

  • That Narrow gauge engine is named rheneas (Ren-nay-es)

  • so pretty muc, u can make any tkealong or ERTL thomas engine and make it work on those electric engine tracks?

  • Awesome tutorial!

  • god that sir toham hatt in the first scene must be small

  • Comment removed

  • The narrow guage engine is called Rheneas, pronounced rinehyus

  • this is so lame get a real hobby that mite attract females before u die<< lol

  • pronounced ren ay ous

  • the narrow gauge engine was reneas

  • what ever do you do with the cast off parts

    excess ta /ertl wheels etc.?

  • @baxter22071990

I have given many to tubers who required spare parts.

  • i see, good idea

    thanks for the info leo

  • the narrow gauge engine's name is

    "Rheneas", pronounced rin-AY-us

  • Thanks.

  • @pierco5 With all due respect i told him first watch again and Scroll down please

  • I love the Mute character! If you can use after effects try to use cgi

  • Can you put Diesel 10 on episode 2?

  • What if I want to do an engine like Fergus or Emily?

  • How are the trains propelled along the track, the bogies dont appear to be motorized?

  • Comment removed

  • mute's real name is diesel

  • If you are wanting to know what the narrow guage engine's name is. its Rheneas

  • Thanks, I was not really sure how to say it, I was worried I would make a ass of myself...again!

  • thats ok. :)

  • hey leo,

where do you get the triangle headed screw drivers from in australia?

    eg. bunnings

  • I think I picked them up at Bunnings Botany, they are security style drivers, there are many different styles of security screws.

I have noticed not all Bunnings carry the same stock, some are serious about tools, others are serious about plants.

Have to say I love to shop there, but get sick of the Chinese crap they tend to push.

  • thanks i'll have a look after chirstmas when they restock.

  • @leokimvideo are YOU Australian?

  • Sorry about my last comment ,I mean like Lady,Thomas,Emily, and Molly.

  • If I was doing any of these in take along Thomas is possible the easiest, in this video you can see a suggest wheel line up for Thomas.

Emily would be the most difficult with that large wheel, and Molly has a interesting combo of small and large wheels, it would be difficult but not impossible.

Did Lady appear in take along?

Any way Lady would be easy as she only has 2 wheels.

  • How do you get the wheels onto the tank engines?

  • The tank engines are a slightly more complex process. I literally had to treat every one as a custom job.

  • Rheneas is awesome. They made a metallic ERTL version of his model, and I own it.

  • 5 stars 4 u.

Also it would be pretty sweet if you could make a motorized conversion of those types of Thomas trains. Be a bit of a frustrating job I guess.

  • I keep hearing there are motorized versions, personally I would approach this with a powered wagon via a spud motor, that would make the whole process so much easier.

  • Brilliant as ever, Leo!

And for the pronunciation of Rheneas...

    watch?v=CTPuglMtwXw&feature=related

  • It's pronounced Ra-Nay-us

  • A little helping information: The narrow gauge engine is called 'Rheneas'...

  • Even so he can give him a different name if he wants to because that's what he did with most of the characters. Percy - Noel James - Ted Wilbert - John Ben - Chris Duck - Earl Duck - Alan Edward - Bob Sixteen - Wilson Harold - Helen The Diesel - Andy Diesel - Mute
  • Oh, I know that.

  • correct, thanks for sorting this out.

  • Hi Leo,

Just done my own conversion of one of the Thomas die-casts recently, wondering if you've seen it? Follows the same method as your ones, except it's fully motorised.

  • the narrow gauge ERTL model is called Rhenas (re-nay-ass)

  • SO I want to something like that could sned me a bogey website with those exact 2 axeled bogeys u used on diesel 10?

  • I am wondering if you would like to see a Tomy Thomas conversion, maybe a powered fix..or even the way I would power a Take Along..

  • You should have used the Ertl Diesel in stead because it would look like it was that real model

  • I did this wheel conversion on a Take Along for this reason..

You can't purchase ERTL's in the shops, I am trying to show a conversion on something everyone can relate to and purchase easily, I hope this explains my reasons here.

  • U should have took out the take along magnets and putted Bachmann Couplings

  • The Narrow Gauge Engine is Rheneas.

  • Thanks, I would have had trouble saying that name..not sure how much ASS to put into the word.

  • reh-neh-aze

    or reh-neh-ess

  • will your Diesel 10 Convertion be in the next Mad Bomber episode? or the next episode after Episode 2 ?

  • What about the Hiro HO/OO Wheel Conversion?

  • (to turbojusa) you're a retard

  • Comment removed

  • oveusly!!!

  • (Reply to skullbasher115) Most of us knwon it already. We have seen on the 'Behind the Secenes' videos.

  • Awesome work as usual , my Friend... never thought that much work was involved in doin' what you do... kudos....

  • did u notice towards the end that he was pulling the train an that it was not moving on its own, there was no motor in it

  • i think the end of the video where diesel 10 is moving by thomas and lady is a subbliminal message that diesel 10 will be in mad bomber

  • the engine at 1:18 to 1:27 is Rheneas

  • why did you keep the magnet on the train?

overall a good and handy tutorial!

  • at the end u see a string or wire pulling the train along on the on track, there was no motor in that train

  • look at the episode four little engines

  • Yes!I hope he is in mad bomber

  • this video will be perfect for the diesel 10 I just bought off of ebay now he will run on ho track!

  • the red narrow gauge engine is called ''Rheneas''.

  • the one you dont have a name for is rheanas i think thats how you spell it there should be a sticker on the boiler saying his name.

  • That's what threw me, all my other ERTL narrow gauge engines have their name on the train, I would have hated saying the wrong name in the video, if I am not sure I let those who know more than me get it right.
