  • This is a monster piece, and I'm playing it at twelve. Great job, but generally, the faster you play the piece, the cooler it sounds. I think the highest I've ever got it was to half-note equals 112.

  • @pErCusSIOn240

This is music, not a race.

This is really only a monster if you've never played anything else with 4 mallets before; I would struggle to find a solo easier than this. There's 1 interval the whole time, which is one of the most comfortable and natural intervals. All mallets are either on top keys or bottom the whole time. There's 2 permutations: 1234 and 4321. The root notes are all in C and Gb major pentatonic scales.

I respect that you're 12 and learning this but don't brag...

  • @vampiracy I never said it was ... thanks by the way

I wasn't bragging either. I wasn't trying to disrespect the player or anything but I'm just saying that when you're moving around the marimba with speed and accuracy, this piece is one of the most beautiful pieces for marimba. Anyway, I understand the piece and there's no need to go all technical on me.

  • This piece is tough! Great dynamics!

  • Ha! I'm learning that song on more or less the exact same marimba! Cool.

  • This is the solo i have to do too

you did it very well by the way

  • nice job, i havnt decided if i want to do this as my solo.

  • Brandon! I'm really mad I didn't get this on video!

  • I'm playing this for assessment tomorrow, good job btw

  • @deepwrecktum Cool, and thanks. Do you mean an assessment for college?

  • Wow that was actually very intresting, very good by the way.
