  • Rapt to find this, An old memory of a song that prompted at the time older memories of events like Nambassa. Can't find so far The Front Lawn's "Hello, How are Ya", which I remember with affection and would like to show to someone.

  • What an epic song

  • Thats why I love The Front Lawn too,Don's just wicked on the storyline.

  • epic ending guys

  • I'm not a kiwi but your music has always made me wish I was. Don's songs are sound films - this above most. Hair on the back of the neck stuff.........

  • These old mutton bird videos have aged so well. I remember the thrill of seeing them live in the early 90s. Don't you think Don had great hair in those days.

  • anyone kknow where to get the guitar chords? Found em once, but never since

  • Apparently the song stemmed from a dream Don McG had re: being late to a festival gig. Still in my top 5 MB tunes of all time....

  • Grow New Zealand Green

  • Sit back , have a smoke and just relax....cheers boys

  • To good, NZ at its best,Bring a tear to eye.

  • they are amasing!

  • Yes, a superb song. Very eerie. I'd always thought that the song was written from the point of view of some sort of deranged sex criminal, whether serial killer or rapist or such like. A story like you'd get in a scary movie or 'psychological thriller'. Have we ever heard Don McGlashan speaking about it?

  • Wierdly scary song. I always had the impression that the character singing the song is actually the devil, and the white Valiant is parked up in hell's car park. Brilliant, as the Birds always were.

  • epic
