I am very happy to see the vidoe Police weapons training session at a shooting range in Nebraska. Story by Joey Buda and Nabil Molai after you give this
I was reading the news item about the Toronto Police raiding a legal gun collectors house. The man was so shaken up that he is suing the POLICE> We have had enough of police brutality in this city. Mr. Peter Wedge his a law abiding citizen. I am watching the police carefully.
This past weekend criminal Edward Hamilton DeHart, Jr. fired on Montgomery county Police....Police return fire over 80 rounds expended no casualties beyond his stolen truck....
@charmedmutant Glock 17's or Glock 22's are being used in this video, but there's a huge variety if you're talking about general terms all around the country.
My brother worked as a police officer for many years, but recently left to work in private security.
He often talked worriedly about enforced ‘bonding rituals’ within the Police Service- holding “convocations for a whole new spiritual realm” inside the stations, where his team all used to gather, chant, cut open their veins and mix blood, urine & semen in a seemingly earnest “striving towards a new religion”.
He became totally unable to sleep at night, haunted by evil visions.
@SuperTruth77hey, im gay too and my boyfriend complained about the state of my ring hole. he wants me to have it bleached. have any of you had their butts bleached to please a boyfriend? how did it turn out?
30-40 minutes later? Ok I'm all for just combining the police dept and Dunkin Donuts.LOL I"m kidding guys. Don't go getting your panties in a bunch. I swear it's a tomato plant in the yard.
events like columbine don't kill enough people compared to events like kids getting ahold of their parents gun and playing with it or other kinds of things that result in death due to firearms including armed robbery and thievery, the difference isn't made up by dead criminals either... so in short, school shootings will occur because overall it's better for society than an even larger increase in deaths to violent gun crimes because a bunch of idiots have access to them suddenly
Don't worry folks, schools are a "gun-free" zone, so there's nothing to worry about. We can be confident that signs banning guns will prevent such incidents. After all, if I were a criminal or a nutcase with a gun, and I was planning a massacre, I would read the sign that bans guns and immediately walk away... wouldn't want to violate the law on the way to commit my heinous crime.
@kiddycorn3 im my town its been clocked at 6 minuites for the swat to arrive. our swat dosent really care how much ammo they pack, or medical gear they store
@kiddycorn3 SWAT Teams are not suited up and waiting at every corner. They're a small team of highly trained cops, One may happen to be on patrol in the area, while another may be 15 miles away shopping for jeans, and another at a school watching his son play in a little league baseball game.
@POLAK1Nysa only a few, civilians can be much ignorant and corrupt assholes than them. we can be pigs without knowing it, have you ever helped an old lady to cross the street? sometimes we have to use our own selves as basis.
@lisolangka the fact that they have authority makes it much worse, the worst of the worst are the ones that are sad middle aged losers who will write you up for not signing your registration. If i dont help an old lady cross the street that does not at all put me on the level of any pig.
@lisolangka trust me, I wont call them, that would be hypocrisy to its extreme. Of course the idiotic part is that I would probably get in trouble for not doing so. Plus, they are almost never there when you need them, always after the fact. To an extent its understandable but they are still useless. The only somewhat respectable position you can have is detective.
@POLAK1Nysa ofcourse its your opinion and I highly respect it. this is the most peaceful debate i had so far. i have no serious problems against LE's inspite the effect of what happened regarding the failed hostage incident recently here in our country. honestly speaking, im mad at those LEs who were assigned at that time, but not on all of their fellow LEs.
@lisolangka Iam against all police everywhere as they have problems all over the world. a few maybe good and even reasonable but the majority are not. Power corrupts even if it is to the rather pathetic extent as to fine people because they feel like it. The failed hostage situation is a prime example and of course they are successful at times but for me thats about the only time they should step in.
@lisolangka It too bad that many who scream fuck the police are idiots who cant put together a sentence, this just bolsters support for the pigs. If people would just analyze the police for all they do then perhaps they would see that they are not so great. They are not heroes, for the most part, but pathetic people exercising their power of bullshit on the public for extremely trivial things. At least in north america, I see it all the time, that a cop will lurk to randomly stop and ticket ppl.
@POLAK1Nysa if thats how you see it, then its very well said. but in my case, I still trust most of them, disregarding some of my relatives that are officers here. anyway, i hope that youre only an activist and not a criminal that literally hates police. i think youre a nice guy hoping for the good of all.
@lisolangka I literally do nothing illegal, so when a pig tells me to stop longboarding down a residential street in order to get to work and class a cop will tell me I cannot do that. Who is he to tell me how to get to work, especially when I am doing it in a safe, responsible and healthy manner that is just one thing that personally makes me mad. There are always deviations but the majority essentially do nothing but harass the public.
@lisolangka Part 2. I do hate the filth, not necessarily the people as individuals, but the organization and what they do. In extension, because of that, I have a mild dislike for the people too, and I would not associate myself with them. maybe your family is great but it doesnt change that a few may be cops (no offense
@POLAK1Nysa i understand your disposition. dont worry, i dont have anything against you. its your own principles and not mine. thank you for your efforts in sharing your side.
@Carlozz1000 Hey, I think it's just cool the guy fired a gun. Most reporters would just say "Eww! Eww! I'm not touching a nasty ol' killer gun! Eww! Mommy!" So give him credit for being a step above ninety-five percent of his brethren.
jeez ...I dont think they guys are close enough to hit their targets..lol.....Im no firearms instructor but you would think they should be training at least around 10 to 15 feet away...??
They are at a minimum of 3 yards away...9 feet (obviously.) Through research you will discover that most officer involved shootings happen within 20 feet. They do train out to 25 yards with their handguns. This would be considered close quarters.
@MrPettj I heard somewhere they used to train to shoot at a target 2 meters, 2 rounds, in two seconds. The targets you shoot at aren't always far away, if such was the case they would use rifles because pistols have a short range. It's just what I heard because I'm not an expert either but they do train to be close.
Man you guys that say to give guns to civilians is a stupid idea need to think a lil bit clearer. Even if guns were outlawed there would still be civilians with them because that's the way criminals are. Wouldn't you wanna have at least a freaking 22. At your waist when you are stairing down the barrel of a criminals gun? I full on support weapons. God bless the WORLD
wow glocks are a piece of shit, theyre so ugly and crap. who cares about reliability? if our govt cares about that then theyre lazy we need to be patriotic and use m1911 again even if we stopped using them in 1985. if i was a cop and if i was given a glock i would just throw it out or give it to the chief and buy myself an m1911 bc theyre awesome and at least they dont look like a box square
Sounds like you ever own or shot a Glock if you did you wouldn't make this dumbass comment i would choose a Glock over a 1911 anyday there more reliable and can take a beaten and they look badass to me GLOCKS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@VATOOUT This comment was writtten a long time ago I honestly dont give a shit what I said I obviously know that a glock is more reliable I only put that dumbass comment to get more subscribers lol
@headhunter4519 He claimed he was a cop in IL at 19 yrs old. Impossible. You can't be a cop in IL at that age. See how his profile says, "I can't lie about my age anymore"? He changed it to say that after they called him a liar. He also claimed he was a Trooper in Chicago, District 12. They pointed out to him that District 12 is over 200 miles away from Chicago. Lol! He's just some punk ass illiterate wannabe. For some reason he thinks it's fun to troll videos picking fights & saying he's a cop.
In my experience (15 years shooting private and military) and they are the worst shooters. It is good they are getting training. Fully 90% of you Keyboard Ninjas have no clue what you are talking about. Much less have had any firearms training at all. Get some training and then run your sucks.

@316lawdog Thats a poor tactic, especially for police. No target is going to be completely still after you shoot it in the chest twice, and the head is the hardest and smallest target to hit. Your two chest shots might hit, but then that head shot is likely to miss and then you have to worry about it hitting an innocent. That training comes from people who have never shot someone before. Paper targets arent the same as real.
@headhunter4519 do you honestly belive that law enforcement officials cant shoot your wrong that is not the only gun training that was mostly for accuracy we don't shoot the innocent and we hit are target trust me we trian long and hard that is why we are trained professionals
@316lawdog Calm down, and learn to read. I said it's a poor tactic, not that all law enforcement cant shoot. Tight groups are for accuracy, not double taps then 1 to the head. I didnt say you shoot innocents, that makes it sound like Im claiming your executing people. I said if your bullet misses it's target, then you have to worry about it hitting an innocent. I've shot with officers many times. Overall there are a large group that are horrible at shooting, and worse at tactics.
@headhunter4519 316dikdog has NO idea what he's talking about. He's NOT a cop. He likes to act like he is though. C'mon, do you really think an idiot that doesn't have even basic grammar skills is "trianed" at ANYTHING? He tried his "I'm a cop" bullshit on "badge764" & "LAPD416". They're real cops. They immediately knew he was full of shit by all the lies in his profile and started calling him out on his lies. He's changed his profile 5 times to cover up all the lies they kept pointing out.
@headhunter4519 You are basing that on whatever State and officer you know. I am a police officer and we train regularly. You do not know the situations we are in on a daily basis. You are assuming you know.
@tc1530 I know quite a few officers from several states. Some were even swat. I work with several officers now as well. They all say the same things. I was also army infantry for over 4 years, and did a 15 month deployement to iraq, so I know quite a bit about weapons training, and what to and not to do in a firefight. Especially since a have been in several. Not to mention I follow the officer down site and look at past mistakes people have made. I also said a large group of cops not all.
@headhunter4519 Well I have been in Civilian law enforcement for over 20 years and am also still active in the military , because you know a lot about weapons and military does not mean you know a lot about police work. You can know as many police officer as you want , that does not mean you know what we do. NOT THE SAME AS BEING IN THE INFANTRY. What do you do now ?
@tc1530 So how long ago were you a cop since you're not one now? Did you even read my initial post? It wasnt talking about busting drug dealers, or using 10 codes. It was about tactics in a gun fight and how to shoot. So yes, being Infantry we learn how to shoot a lot. I do know that being a cop shooting a gun is the same as BEING INFANTRY AND SHOOTING A GUN.
@tc1530 38 Police Officers killed by gunfire this year, 47 in 2009, and 40 in 2008. They arent in Iraq or Afghanistan but the states. As an Officer for over 20 years you dont see this as any kind of a problem? These numbers probably could be half with better training. Get your head out of your as* with your little pissing contest saying I dont know how cops do things. You dont have a clue what my point is. I'm talking about how we need to train cops better so they can go home to their families
@headhunter4519 Many States are different and the training is either better or worse.I did 27 weeks in the academy and 16 weeks FTO. I have been through many additional schools , one being a tactical warrant and building search. I also just came back from The Boarding Officer Course for the Coast Guard held at the MLE Academy in Charleston , SC.
@tc1530 Now, since you tried to get on my case, let me ask you some questions. If you are 41, and you have to be 21 to become a cop. How is it possible that you have OVER 20 years on the force? So now you are starting to sound like you're full of BS. You're active in the military? Well if it's after your law enforcement career, you must of only been in less than a year. Unless you are a weekend warrior, which is definitely not "active" in the military. Get your story straight next time.
@headhunter4519 So being in the SELRES is not being an active reservists? So you now you want to get tech , ok that fine. I just finished some active duty as a reservist. I can debate anything you want. I know my job as a police officer.
@headhunter4519 I started as a civilian police dispatcher in 1990 then I went to a multi agency 911 center as police dispatcher then supervisor for a number of years. I worked in two different sheriff's office as a corrections officer after that , and now for the past 10 years I have a been a police officer (FTO) for a city police department in western NY.
@headhunter4519 also am a Coast Guard Reservists as a Maritime Enforcement Specialist/Boarding Officer. I have my story straight and I have trained many recruits over my the last 7 years as an FTO.
@tc1530 Doing some active duty time is not the same as being full time active duty... regardless of branch. Did you read my initial post? So where was I trying to say I know how cops do everything besides shooting?
@headhunter4519 Would you stop. I know the difference between active duty and reserve duty. When I say I am very much active , means I am an active reservist. There is a difference between an active reservist and IRR I inactive (ACTIVE) ready reserve. Yes the difference is I have a full-time job and I also have a part-time reservists career.
@headhunter4519 And BTW in New York State you can be 20 years in the academy as long as we are finished with your FTO you are 21. There was one 20 year old in my academy when I went through.
@headhunter4519 Must be at least nineteen (19) years and (6) six months of age and not have reached thirty-fifth (35th) birthday on or before date of written test, except as defined on Section 243 (10-a) of the Military Law. Must be at least twenty (20) years old at the time of appointment...From your recruitment page
@headhunter4519 We have a lot of good shooters , but the job itself , to be a good cop , is not the person that can shoot the best. That can be at a target or in tactical situations. I responded to two of my friends shot and we caught the person involved. I have been shot at myself a couple years back , I was not struck , but I also caught him and located the gun. We had an officer shot last year and he is still recovering. That once was one of the finalist on AMW for the hero reward.
@tc1530 I didnt say anything about being a good or bad cop. Re-read what I wrote again..... I talked specifically about shooting. Which, the vast majority (NOT ALL) are horrible at shooting, and are trained very poorly. Ex. wide grouping, unrealistic tactical training, having to put ny style triggers on glocks because they cant take them out of a holster without shooting themselves, ect.... I also work maritime enforcement, work with coast guard, fbi, have a twic, ect. Im still army reserve
@headhunter4519 Well I don't know any police department that doesn't make sure that their officer are not qualified when leaving the academy or yearly. It also depends on where the department is located. Here in NY State we exceed the required amount of training in all areas , including the amount of hours in the academy.
@316DIKdog That's quite a run-on sentence you've rattled off there. Here, let me help you out with your illiteracy AGAIN. It's "believe". It's not "your wrong", it's "you're wrong". (Even though he's right) "we hit ARE target"!? Really!?!? You don't even know the difference between "ARE" and "OUR"!?!? What do you "trian" long and hard at!? TROLLING? Maybe you should learn basic grammar before you go around lying about being a cop. Does anyone EVER believe you!?! You make LEO's look like idiots!!
Damnit..... people are always asking what guns they're using!!!! If it's 9mm then it was Glock 17 and 19... there's no way a police officer gonna carry a Glock 18 (like some assholes said in here), unless maybe SWAT does.
I think this reporter just mentioned the problem...it takes 30-45 minute for SWAT or SRT or w/e to get to the scene...that is just way too long. Officers in gun-free zones like, school campuses can not carry. Officers in a school shooting are no different than the students and teachers trying to get away. Until steps are taken to remove these "bans," schools are open season for mass murderers. Come on, why wouldn't you allow an Officer to carry on campus.
next time they should try it on each other. Might make Vancouver citizens feel a little safer from the customary police brutality knowing there are less of these uniformed thugs out there.
ps... never been charged but I abhor the Vancouver police tactics.
I think policing in the UK would be terrible. To me, its fucking pathetic that the UK does not even allow most of their officers to be armed.
How many lives have to be lost in the name of "tradition".
Sir Robert Peel's unarmed "bobby" should be a thing of the past. Even if the UK's gun ban were a success (its not, its a fucking joke), police officers should still be armed with a lethal weapon. Fact is, an officer could still find himself face to face with a knifeman.
lol "this training also makes our law enforcement more confident.. (takes 3 seconds to aim at a target a meter away from him) when they're facing an active shooter.. MY ASS!!
@14873 Ever faced a teenage kid with a gun in his hand, the same age of your son, and then have to shoot that same kid? IF that didnt cause some "confidence" issues, I would be worried.Second, if you ever get into tactical shooting, especially among the elite, you will quickly learn the following saying: "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast", remember this is TRAINING, not competition, they are PRACTICING smooth and accurate shots BEFORE they start going fast. It wastes a lot less bullets that way
@wihunter18 hmm.. not sure why your comment is flagged for spam :S but I wasn't commenting on the police training. I've got family on the force and I know what they've got to go through. I was just saying what a bad job the reporter was doing... I'll agree with your comment though bro
this was filmed in nebraska and most nebraska cops carry hk 45s and glock the only reason I know this is my mom is a nebraska cop she resined but is now a private investigator
maby you don't care but all i want to say is thath you are not a nice persone when you say the negative things about other people it's more fun when you are posetive and say like ooh he is a good shooter or something.
most times u shot sumone it happens within 7 feet so training on how to draw aquire target and fire within 7 feet is a good idea .....................
That is one of the most stupid ideas i've heard in a while..
Why do you think there are all the shootings in the US in the first place? But yea your right, making everyone a trained shooter (killer) would definately help -.-
Because of the gang and drug culture there currently is. Take out all the gang killings and shootings and the number of murders would be sooooooo much lower it ain't funny.
Just look at the music, listen to some of these rappers. Not trying to say they cause it, but it shows what the mentallity is like.
It's nice that the cops are concerned with making us "feel safe. " I'd personally rather be safe by being able to carry in my university instead of being a potential victim for swat to come "save."
Can you site how often that happens. I can't remember a story of someone defending them self and being killed by SWAT. First of all they don't show up on time most of the time when someone is involved in a defensive use of a firearm. And even if they do show up, they are trained to expect legally armed citizens. Obviously less likely to happen in places like NYC or Chicago. But in States where people's right to defend their life with a firearm is respected. Your opinion does not hold much weight
It doesn't happen that often because there a very few people, in any state, that CCW. Particularly in college campuses.
Let's say the police were to respond to an instance where there is an active shooter at school campus, and they arrive and run into a bunch of "armed civilians" with their guns out...you'd have to pretty obtuse to not see a bad situation coming out of that.
I would suggest you check out this website that reports every self defense incident in the U.S. At least in the media. What you'll notice is that police rarely if ever show up for instance an active shooter. And if the cops are just killing anyone holding a gun without any analysis of the situation then those cops are killers. Almost every state respects the right to bear arms and cops are aware that people own and carry their firearms for self defense. They are not trained to kill anyone.
The police ALWAYS respond to active shooter calls. The question is whether they get there in time or not.
All states respect the right to bear arms. However, owning a gun and carrying a concealed weapon are two completely different things. Most states don't simply hand out CCW permits to everyone, and even in the states that do, I'd say only about 1% of the population or less is LAWFULLY carrying a concealed handgun on them at any time.
So if the cops received a call that there was somebody shooting up a school, they make entry, and come across a man with a gun, you honestly expect them to assume its an armed citizen lawfully carrying with a CCW?
They're immediately going to assume the man is the suspect, and possibly kill him. And no, the wouldn't make them killers in the eyes of the law, because they could easily argue that they were in fear for their safety when they encountered an armed individual.
That's just it. The police don't run into that armed citizen. When a firearm is truly needed the incident has already happened. Either you have a situation where someone has defended their own life or the lives' of others or no one is carrying a firearm and the police show up too late to stop anything. The police only show up to chalk up the outlines of the victims and murderer. Why is it so hard for you to understand that the police can't protect anyone. They don't run into armed citizens.
Wait887 you are absolutely right, and elsamuraiguapo, you are simply ignorant. Police response time is measured by the time a dispatcher notifies a responding officer and the time of which he arrives on scene. Average is roughly 2 minutes for our local department. How long does it take an active shooter to be stopped dead in his tracks? Seconds. What can we pull from this? Don't worry, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. Enjoy your false blanket of security.

@POLAK1Nysa if thats how you see it, then its very well said. but in my case, I still trust most of them, disregarding some of my relatives that are officers here. anyway, i hope that youre only an activist and not a criminal that literally hates police. i think youre a nice guy hoping for the good of all.
lisolangka 1 year ago
@lisolangka I literally do nothing illegal, so when a pig tells me to stop longboarding down a residential street in order to get to work and class a cop will tell me I cannot do that. Who is he to tell me how to get to work, especially when I am doing it in a safe, responsible and healthy manner that is just one thing that personally makes me mad. There are always deviations but the majority essentially do nothing but harass the public.
POLAK1Nysa 1 year ago
@lisolangka Part 2. I do hate the filth, not necessarily the people as individuals, but the organization and what they do. In extension, because of that, I have a mild dislike for the people too, and I would not associate myself with them. maybe your family is great but it doesnt change that a few may be cops (no offense

jeez ...I dont think they guys are close enough to hit their targets..lol.....Im no firearms instructor but you would think they should be training at least around 10 to 15 feet away...??
MrPettj 1 year ago
@MrPettj
They are at a minimum of 3 yards away...9 feet (obviously.) Through research you will discover that most officer involved shootings happen within 20 feet. They do train out to 25 yards with their handguns. This would be considered close quarters.
GeneralUser1926 1 year ago
@MrPettj I heard somewhere they used to train to shoot at a target 2 meters, 2 rounds, in two seconds. The targets you shoot at aren't always far away, if such was the case they would use rifles because pistols have a short range. It's just what I heard because I'm not an expert either but they do train to be close.

twice in the chest once in the face
316lawdog 1 year ago
@316lawdog Thats a poor tactic, especially for police. No target is going to be completely still after you shoot it in the chest twice, and the head is the hardest and smallest target to hit. Your two chest shots might hit, but then that head shot is likely to miss and then you have to worry about it hitting an innocent. That training comes from people who have never shot someone before. Paper targets arent the same as real.
headhunter4519 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 do you honestly belive that law enforcement officials cant shoot your wrong that is not the only gun training that was mostly for accuracy we don't shoot the innocent and we hit are target trust me we trian long and hard that is why we are trained professionals
316lawdog 1 year ago
@316lawdog Calm down, and learn to read. I said it's a poor tactic, not that all law enforcement cant shoot. Tight groups are for accuracy, not double taps then 1 to the head. I didnt say you shoot innocents, that makes it sound like Im claiming your executing people. I said if your bullet misses it's target, then you have to worry about it hitting an innocent. I've shot with officers many times. Overall there are a large group that are horrible at shooting, and worse at tactics.

AndroidBatleTrooper 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 You are basing that on whatever State and officer you know. I am a police officer and we train regularly. You do not know the situations we are in on a daily basis. You are assuming you know.
tc1530 1 year ago
@tc1530 I know quite a few officers from several states. Some were even swat. I work with several officers now as well. They all say the same things. I was also army infantry for over 4 years, and did a 15 month deployement to iraq, so I know quite a bit about weapons training, and what to and not to do in a firefight. Especially since a have been in several. Not to mention I follow the officer down site and look at past mistakes people have made. I also said a large group of cops not all.
headhunter4519 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 Well I have been in Civilian law enforcement for over 20 years and am also still active in the military , because you know a lot about weapons and military does not mean you know a lot about police work. You can know as many police officer as you want , that does not mean you know what we do. NOT THE SAME AS BEING IN THE INFANTRY. What do you do now ?
tc1530 1 year ago
@tc1530 So how long ago were you a cop since you're not one now? Did you even read my initial post? It wasnt talking about busting drug dealers, or using 10 codes. It was about tactics in a gun fight and how to shoot. So yes, being Infantry we learn how to shoot a lot. I do know that being a cop shooting a gun is the same as BEING INFANTRY AND SHOOTING A GUN.
headhunter4519 1 year ago
@tc1530 38 Police Officers killed by gunfire this year, 47 in 2009, and 40 in 2008. They arent in Iraq or Afghanistan but the states. As an Officer for over 20 years you dont see this as any kind of a problem? These numbers probably could be half with better training. Get your head out of your as* with your little pissing contest saying I dont know how cops do things. You dont have a clue what my point is. I'm talking about how we need to train cops better so they can go home to their families
headhunter4519 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 Many States are different and the training is either better or worse.I did 27 weeks in the academy and 16 weeks FTO. I have been through many additional schools , one being a tactical warrant and building search. I also just came back from The Boarding Officer Course for the Coast Guard held at the MLE Academy in Charleston , SC.
tc1530 1 year ago
@tc1530 Now, since you tried to get on my case, let me ask you some questions. If you are 41, and you have to be 21 to become a cop. How is it possible that you have OVER 20 years on the force? So now you are starting to sound like you're full of BS. You're active in the military? Well if it's after your law enforcement career, you must of only been in less than a year. Unless you are a weekend warrior, which is definitely not "active" in the military. Get your story straight next time.
headhunter4519 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 So being in the SELRES is not being an active reservists? So you now you want to get tech , ok that fine. I just finished some active duty as a reservist. I can debate anything you want. I know my job as a police officer.
tc1530 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 I started as a civilian police dispatcher in 1990 then I went to a multi agency 911 center as police dispatcher then supervisor for a number of years. I worked in two different sheriff's office as a corrections officer after that , and now for the past 10 years I have a been a police officer (FTO) for a city police department in western NY.
tc1530 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 also am a Coast Guard Reservists as a Maritime Enforcement Specialist/Boarding Officer. I have my story straight and I have trained many recruits over my the last 7 years as an FTO.
tc1530 1 year ago
@tc1530 Doing some active duty time is not the same as being full time active duty... regardless of branch. Did you read my initial post? So where was I trying to say I know how cops do everything besides shooting?
headhunter4519 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 Would you stop. I know the difference between active duty and reserve duty. When I say I am very much active , means I am an active reservist. There is a difference between an active reservist and IRR I inactive (ACTIVE) ready reserve. Yes the difference is I have a full-time job and I also have a part-time reservists career.
tc1530 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 And BTW in New York State you can be 20 years in the academy as long as we are finished with your FTO you are 21. There was one 20 year old in my academy when I went through.

That once was one of the finalist on AMW for the hero reward.
tc1530 1 year ago
@tc1530 I didnt say anything about being a good or bad cop. Re-read what I wrote again..... I talked specifically about shooting. Which, the vast majority (NOT ALL) are horrible at shooting, and are trained very poorly. Ex. wide grouping, unrealistic tactical training, having to put ny style triggers on glocks because they cant take them out of a holster without shooting themselves, ect.... I also work maritime enforcement, work with coast guard, fbi, have a twic, ect. Im still army reserve
headhunter4519 1 year ago
@headhunter4519 Well I don't know any police department that doesn't make sure that their officer are not qualified when leaving the academy or yearly. It also depends on where the department is located. Here in NY State we exceed the required amount of training in all areas , including the amount of hours in the academy.

It wastes a lot less bullets that way

wait887 3 years ago
Right, then when the SWAT team does show up and sees you with a gun, you'll be dead anyway.
elsamuraiguapo 3 years ago
Can you site how often that happens. I can't remember a story of someone defending them self and being killed by SWAT. First of all they don't show up on time most of the time when someone is involved in a defensive use of a firearm. And even if they do show up, they are trained to expect legally armed citizens. Obviously less likely to happen in places like NYC or Chicago. But in States where people's right to defend their life with a firearm is respected. Your opinion does not hold much weight
wait887 3 years ago
It doesn't happen that often because there a very few people, in any state, that CCW. Particularly in college campuses.
Let's say the police were to respond to an instance where there is an active shooter at school campus, and they arrive and run into a bunch of "armed civilians" with their guns out...you'd have to pretty obtuse to not see a bad situation coming out of that.
elsamuraiguapo 3 years ago
I would suggest you check out this website that reports every self defense incident in the U.S. At least in the media. What you'll notice is that police rarely if ever show up for instance an active shooter. And if the cops are just killing anyone holding a gun without any analysis of the situation then those cops are killers. Almost every state respects the right to bear arms and cops are aware that people own and carry their firearms for self defense. They are not trained to kill anyone.
wait887 3 years ago
The police ALWAYS respond to active shooter calls. The question is whether they get there in time or not.
All states respect the right to bear arms. However, owning a gun and carrying a concealed weapon are two completely different things. Most states don't simply hand out CCW permits to everyone, and even in the states that do, I'd say only about 1% of the population or less is LAWFULLY carrying a concealed handgun on them at any time.
elsamuraiguapo 3 years ago
So if the cops received a call that there was somebody shooting up a school, they make entry, and come across a man with a gun, you honestly expect them to assume its an armed citizen lawfully carrying with a CCW?
They're immediately going to assume the man is the suspect, and possibly kill him. And no, the wouldn't make them killers in the eyes of the law, because they could easily argue that they were in fear for their safety when they encountered an armed individual.
elsamuraiguapo 3 years ago
That's just it. The police don't run into that armed citizen. When a firearm is truly needed the incident has already happened. Either you have a situation where someone has defended their own life or the lives' of others or no one is carrying a firearm and the police show up too late to stop anything. The police only show up to chalk up the outlines of the victims and murderer. Why is it so hard for you to understand that the police can't protect anyone. They don't run into armed citizens.
wait887 3 years ago
Wait887 you are absolutely right, and elsamuraiguapo, you are simply ignorant. Police response time is measured by the time a dispatcher notifies a responding officer and the time of which he arrives on scene. Average is roughly 2 minutes for our local department. How long does it take an active shooter to be stopped dead in his tracks? Seconds. What can we pull from this? Don't worry, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. Enjoy your false blanket of security.
