  • lol no mayones Custom PI

  • Is that a Status S2 classic with a walnut top?

  • Exactly rofl

  • thank God! some guys that can agree about sloppy speed IS NOT EVERYTHING!! to me it's like seeing a clip of a guy tossing rocks in a lake and than some bozos would start saying that he is better than Tiger Woods!!come on!! oh by the way, I do agree that the coolest job on earth would be playing bass for U2...

  • by this video we can obviously see that speed isnt everything you gotta have soul..

  • hey you guys under me, dont be such an idiot, music is not sport. yeah, wictor wooten is the best, but the best job in the world is beeing bass player of u2

  • hm, yes, I play bass and guitar too, but I think the same, he has some learned licks, which are fast, but deffinitely not musical. speed isn`t allways everything, although, I can`t slap yet. And I don`t say this just because he`s Polish this time..

  • pretty pathetic that some dudes call that guy better than Victor Wooten!!!! it is such an insult .You can tell, he has some chops, but I saw many clips of him and nothing but absolutly nothing was musical to me.This is the perfect example why many people get turned off by slap bass..you want to hear guys doing it with TASTE? go check Marcus, Wooten, Caron ..these guys are serious players, even Flea sounds so much more musical than that poor clown from Poland!

  • i agree totaly!!!!!

  • leave it to some idiot who never had guitar in his hand to start some stupid argument about "who is better". Btw. this guy is excelent bass player.

  • I think alot of this was started when SOME OTHER DUDE posted a video saying he was better than Wooten.

Most likely, Wojtek would never say such a thing himself.

  • EXACTLY. WORD.

  • what ?? for all i care this guy is just making some rumbling noise . no creativity at all . you say hes better than victor ? come on dude thats aint true

  • Woitek Pilichowski is no where near as good as Vicktor Wooten. He's good at thumping and playing BEATS on his bass, BUT when it comes to Victor Wooten....,,, Woitek Pilichowski has to be more VERSATILE, TO BE CONSIDERED TO BE BETTER THAN VICKTOR.

WHAT ESLE CAN HE DO? ANOTHER THAN THUMP & PLAY BEATS ON HIS BASS. HE'S GOOD!! BUT NOT THAT GOOD. OK

THUMPING IS JUST THE BASICS OF PLAYING BASS....

WHOEVER POSTED THAT COMMENT "BETTER THAN VICKTOR WOOTEN" IS ""UN-LEARNED"" LOOK AT VICTOR WOOTEN.

  • One thing - it seems that you haven't already seen that guy playing live on the stage or workshops. He's not a "thumper" and he himself says, that this is only one of techniques. He's a really versatile musician and can play things by Wooten, Miller and even Jaco in a very good way. He's not as good as Wooten in composing, but he's really good technically.

  • He is a good bass player, and no one can take that away from him, and I don't have to see him live. I'am going by what I see and hear now. I've seen the best, played with the best, and been taught by the best. All I'am saying is He's good. BUT not BETTER than VICTOR by a long shot.

  • this guy sucks...wooten trashes him and then gets recycled

  • ITS A RUBBER RING he isnt the only dude with 1 i no a few ppl that use it

  • Great bass player!!

  • That's right. it's a ring made of rubber. About 2 á 3 mm in thickness. I asked him once and he says it's more for protection than for the sound. This guy really practices alot and hard. I don't believe he would have a thumb left if he didn't use it. I've seen this guys schredding his bass into oblivion ... during a demo on the european bass day 2005. He went on and on ... the crowd went crazy and he just went buzurk until he broke a string. Check out www.mayones.com. He endorses their basses.

  • READ what I wrote. It's a ring made of rubber. Believe me. I've been on several gigs of his, and I've participated in few worhshops with him beaing the main teacher so... I KNOW what I'm writing. (sorry for my english)

  • King said in an old interview (on one of the level fansites) that the gaffer tape does nothing for the sound, in fact he thought it might sound better with out it.

I don't know what the fantastic Wojtek is using, but it's probably just tape on the thumb, to protect it from splitting.

  • it's a rubber ring.

  • @explozer actually, all you need is electrical tape.

  • The tape on his thumb contributes a percussive hardness to the sound and importantly prevents his thumb splitting. The black gaffer tape was originaly used by Mark King in the early 1980's.

  • this is a fast and rythmic solo, but he can also play soft melodies, belive me he can play everything on bass guitar, and it is always rythmic, because it should be!

  • I'm a drumer and Wojtek gave me a best drumer award in amateur band's festival in Poland. That was one year ago. And belive me Wojtek is also a very good drumer, not only bass player. By the way, my first name is also Wojtek :)

  • bass IS a rhythmic instrument you know elfidel

  • if he likes percussion so much let him study drums

  • first of all slapring is bullshit. second of all it's not the slapring Wojtek is playing with. it's just a piece of rubber, but he plays equally without it. beleieve me, i know him.

  • The Slapring is a tool of that sort. A metal ring to place on your thumb, manufacturer's claims are that it will enable quicker thumb-movement - for furious slapping - and different sounds. Developed by German bass player Gerd Reese

  • dizzamn

  • No its not.

  • it is... he's right!

  • Nothing but chops. No musical sense. This is the douchebag that invented the slapring.
