I agree, it IS very creative but is it handy as well ? Does this guy know what his doing ? Or is mostly improvisation ?
I would enjoy this thing for 5 minutes, hell maybe for 5 days, but after that, it would end up in the corner of a room to be only brought up when some guys come over for visit.
And actually, if you think about it, it's not THAT creative. It's just plain vector synthesis through a Wacom.
The Speech Guitar a.k.a "Wacom Rock" is a USB powered pseudo heavy metal rock guitar. It is a project that considers the possibilities of using an appropriated, modified Graphics Tablet combined with joystick potentiometers as a wearable device for the control of a library of Max/Msp~ and Nato 0+55 patches that communicates with the Apple MacInTalk 3 synthesizer in real-time to make it sing.
