get a quadiphonic system and you will know why it has the name quadrophnia! the first and only album recorded i this style and not to sa that your wrong about the content and its story that it tells but your missing alot more than you realize the system that i mention was suppost to be the new thing but it was to costly to produce and not eveyone had a quadrophonic system at home and stereo just don't play it the way it should be played check it out
This song is dedicated to a beautiful angel named Annamarie Impriano who lives in the Philadelphia area and whose infinitely sweet and pure love I unceasingly long. That Sunday, June The Twenty - Sixth, 2011, is when Heaven had sent me this angel named Annamarie of such infinite beauty, warmth, gentility and love that my soul was ignited in a conflagration more intense than the fires erupting from ten thousand suns, Joey Santacecilia
The heart-felt intensity of the vocals, the honesty and down-to-earth quality of the lyrics, the building and the crescendo...I'm not a musical expert...but this is serious shit !!
These is a new film out very similar to this now called birhgton rock ,i very much doubt it will be a patch on the who.s masterpiece but it may be worth looking out for i havet seen it yet so couldnt say if its any good or not.THE WHO FOREVER!
First of all, it's not the sixth studio album if you count "Magic Bus"
Second, the title has nothing to do with the introduction of quadrophonic sound
Quadrophonic sound, either in the QS type or the Discrete Type was first introduced in early 1972. I know because I bought one of the first Quad systems in 1972. It was made by Panasonic and I had about 10 Quad albums that I bought when I bought the system
omg this is the best music ever ;) ty m8 4 posting ... goodness this takes me back 2 easter monday in bangor ... northern ireland lolol what memories ;) those where the days ;) an may day .... scooters .. booze ... and skirt ;) lololol
with all my seeking... i agree with pete.. i can do things, i can conceive.. er that is compose.. can do the whole opera, because never got enough love
I discovered earlier today that if you listen to this with a really good pair of headphones, you get the most amazing experience:the power of this music completely envelopes you. You hear, feel, all of it. The bass shakes you to the very core, the stereo blows you away, the strings power through all, and the true power of this work shines through. A good pair of headphones can make it inescapable, and all the better for it.
THANK YOU!!! I have only fully realized the genius that is The Who! This album has been totally amazing. I plan on buying it, but if I don't, then your videos will be here. Thank you.
This is without a doubt one of the greatest songs ever written and recorded in the entire history of music. It is an absolute masterpiece. Townshend at his best!
Thanks for posting this man! I watched the whole series (listened to the whole album) and tried to piece the story together. My internet almost failed before this song, but I had to finish the album! Thanks again!
Easily one of the best closing tracks of all time. It just perfectly sums up all of the emotions of the album and provides the perfect amount of closure.
Truly from the hands of God, just like rostomat observed below. Nearly the anniversary of my good friends suicide to whom the Who, and Iggy Pop for that matter, defined true musical genius and the power it has in our lives. Thanks for putting up the lyrics.
I first got this album then an 8 track tape, I played the tape so much that first summer I had to buy another. The absolute best the Who has ever done.
This is unquestionably a brilliant masterpiece - probably the best composition Townsend ever created. Also likely the best showcase of Daltry's astonishing range and incredibly powerful voice. Sonically, the instrumental textures, pacing and emotional execution are all simply breathtaking! I've been listening to this since it came out and it still never fails to give me chills.
PJ did it for a movie with Adam Sandler called "Reign Over Me" supposedly Adam asked Eddie Vedder to do it. Very, VERY powerful use of music for the scene it was used in.
amd i got to say as well thanks for the upload im not a huge who fan but quadrophenia is one of my favurite films live on forever (mod at heart but im a rocker lol)
Oh you want to bet douchebag? First off, i have checked all lyrics sites just to make sure he doesn't sing 'ON me". It's O'er me. It even says it in the title.." Love, Reign O'ER Me" Plus, if you listen closely, you can tell he actually doesn't say 'on'.
And of course this is coming from a person who doesn't know how to use a period and proper English...
dude...i have an origional copy of the album (yes...in record) and it comes with this big booklet that has all of the lyrics to all of the songs. He Definitely Says "O'er" lol. And all of the other lyrics that Jason has posted are correct as well. Jason knows what he is doing.
this was the song that got me into the who.

By the way, great song and audio... and for being correct that the song title is "Love Reign O'er Me", not "Love Reign On Me".
FYI: O'er is the correct usage, not on. O'er is the contracted version of over and has been used throughout history in song lyrics and poetry.
