  • I remember going with my Dad, greatest football moment of my life. Bale and Ramsey will get us back to this!

  • I remember watching this game with my mates. couldnt get tickets so we watched it in walkabouts.England game on the other screen with loads of students watching it. then down caroline street taking the mick of loads of welsh italians.

  • I remember watching this as a Welsh-Italian when living in Italy.....the Italians were all really respectful and glowing about Wales's achievement. Best ive ever seen wales play.

  • RIP Gary Speed, who knows they might have repeated a triumph like this if he was still with us.

  • RIP Gary Speed!!! :((((( Wales was almost.....just almost on Euro 2004 on my Country!

  • RIP Gary Speed, a true Welsh legend.

  • When I heard the shocking news about Speed's death the first match that popped into my head was this one.

Speed was a brilliant captain and that night he led the team brilliantly. My best memory following Wales.

An absolute Welsh legend. It's still such a huge shock!

  • @ronaldinhollew Here here, this is the first match I thought of aswel

  • RIP Gary Speed

  • historic day for welsh football

  • fuck football rugbys our sport

  • @dragonegg2603 why are you watching this then?

  • i like how Bellamy run through Nesta and Cannavaro

  • @Manschaft13Legend considered among best defenders ever

  • Compare that to tonight...

    <___<

  • there is a world of difference between then and now, we had such fluidity back then, now when i was a wales game it is so frustrating to watch 90 minutes of hoofball, i really hope speed can mould this team into what i saw that night.

  • The end of that makes me feel slightly embarrassed, when that lad says, "Have some of that England!", my point is, why is he interested in pointing out to the English that Wales beat Italy? It doesn't make sense, if anything, it should be "Have some of that Italy!", typical Welsh insecurity. And I'm Welsh!

  • I'm making this team on the FIFA 11 creation centre: Downloadable at the end of the week :)

  • all these players under 24: N.Taylor, Ramsay, Bale, Hennessey, Allen, Collison, J.Wilson, Nyatanga, Mathews, Gunter, Kanu, Church....if we get a few more over next 2 years..we could go places

  • Are you watching England?

Yes we are....still...what have you done?? haha sheep shaggers!

  • @83dpat hah hah nice one mate, calling the Welsh sheep shaggers i mean you must be really intelligent to think of such an insult like that, were you educated at Eton? you must have been afforded the best education in the world to have the imagination to think of a zinger like that, to demean a country smaller than yours where football isnt the national game take a very brave fellow indeed especially coming from a country as succesfull as England where you have won international silverware once?

  • @83dpat See my comment, you could have gone about illustrating your point in a slightly different manner, rather than insulting a nation; all be it in an extremely immature fashion.

  • @83dpat And what have England done?

  • @83dpat why are you watching this video? sheep shaggers, oh how original!

  • This is the only Wales game that I've ever been too that I've ever enjoyed. Nesta & Cannavaro couldn't deal with Big John Hartson between them! And Simon Davies, Bellamy, etc were all fantastic.

  • We suck.

    From a welsh person.

  • Happy Saint David's day fellow Welshmen!

  • What a night! That side is miles better than our current one :(

  • @rhysyboy37 Agreed. The fact Steve Morrison is our best striking option is just humiliating. The FAW are a bunch of jokers instead of giving the job to Largerbeck (A guy with a proven track record of getting smaller nations to major tournaments) we gave the job to Gary f*cking Speed.

  • @SwanseaCityNo12 I still think we should have given Lawrie Sanchez the job, NI were in the same position we are now when he took over.

  • @rhysyboy37 Well anyone would had been better than Speed! Another problem is that half our team is bloody English and have no passion for the team at all. On a side-note why do you support Liverpool FC what chance do Welsh clubs have of improving if Welsh people themselves don't even support them? Support Us, Cardiff, Wrexham or Newport mate not some English giant.

  • @SwanseaCityNo12 tbf, Swansea are my second team, I have been to a Swansea game (last season at home to Boro, 3-0 loss). I have bought Swans merchandise and have followed them for years. Good enough?

  • @rhysyboy37 Well sorry about that then mate I got you all wrong you're a true football fan. Apologies. If the Swans go up who would you want to win next season? ;)

  • @SwanseaCityNo12 It'll have to be Pool, but I really can't wait to see Sinclair ripping up PL defences. Hopefully we can get Borini in on another loan too :)

  • @SwanseaCityNo12 oh, and I also support my very local team Haverfordwest County, who I've seen on many an occasion and were unfortunately relegated from the Welsh Premier this season.

  • its more than hope its a looming Reality should wales see ENG differently but as an ART Collectors fantasy investment that is making the very same bold Unconservative moves that put england dead last after the world cup. the media has exposed them now as the evil they are. wales is a true team like scotland whether they like it or not and they will teach england a lesson once and for all if they See the hologram that is eng.underneath lies something wicked the us team took it Serious so should u

  • Hope Gary Speed can go one step futher than Mark Hughes and help us qualify for a major championship.

  • Words can not describe how much I love Welsh football, and going to the Millenium Stadium.. it's such an awesome atmosphere :) WHEN'S THEIR NEXT HOME MATCH??

  • @colouredscriblesrule

England next March ! Wish us luck.

  • @DLWilliams704 Got tickets, went to watch... shame about the score.

  • Brian Flynn will bring the best out of Wales and should be new permanent boss, wonderful job with the youngsters coming through, knows each of their strengths, the obvious choice in my opinion

  • looool @ 5:28 robbie savage telling the guy injured to stay on the floor hahaha

  • bellamy ran right in front of me after the goal, never been that happy, what a day that was.

  • Should have been 3-1! Wales will be back one day....

  • 1958 was the last time we qualified for a tournament. 1978, 1986 and 1994 World Cups we blew on the last games and 1976, 1992 and 2004 Euro's we came close on the last games to qualfying, but didn't. Always close, but yet so far. 52 years is way too long for Wales. Toshack, Saunders, Rush, Hughes, Giggs, Speed, top players who cruelly never made a major tournament. Bale, Ledley, Gunter, Ramsey etc the next generation. Can they step up? Bellamy has one last chance.

  • SIGNED FOR CARDIFF

  • As far as Wales teams go, that was a class Wales team. Such a shame they didnt make it.

  • I miss this :(

  • I WAS THERE !!!

  • It was an amazing day. The only bad thing for me was that my mate forgot to place a bet for me - Wales to win 2-1, Simon Davies first to score..... odds 100-1

  • wales will be back!

it's a new era for welsh football :)

  • @mashy1992 sooner than you think!!!

  • this is one of my best memories :) the new team is going to bring back the crowds, and maybe a major finals:)

  • The good times are coming back!

  • God, I miss the days when the Millenium Stadium was full.

  • @liverpoolfcheaven Same here mate!!

  • So Wales were at their best against Italy or Italy at their worst?

  • Brilliant !
