@Emceetem close now huh, I am buying the Jeff Loomis signature Schecter with the tremolo and noisegate 7 string. I need 7 strings, just ain't happy with 6, I was looking at 8, but baby steps will be fine for me i think.

@F4TB0Y69 look at quality of a guitar more not quantity of strings, they are really not gonna make you play better. I have a 12 string acoustic and all it does for me is give me more control.

The buckethead guitar things sucks so much... i ended up losing my job and now i'm looking for a new one with no money saved up.

If i'm gonna buy it...it's still 22 weeks...

@Emceetem nah, i am one of these guys that constantly drop tune to B and then back up to E and it ain't helping me, I am still gonna test before I buy, I use a Les Paul Gibson Standard, and great tone, just I feel like I would have a better variety of chord variations if I had 7, and a deeper tone.

That sucks losing jobs when you get excited about something, I lost my job when I was really looking forward to getting a Razorback and it a fucking nightmare, ah well man good luck!!!!

The influence is really obvious if you listen to buckethead's stuff from a guitarist stand point. Many of the same staple effects and sounds. Though I know buckethead has many MANY influences and I'd say he's the most eclectic shredder I've come across.
