@Crossfade543 I've actually seen stuff like this being done first hand (my Dad was a back-hoe operator). With back-hoes, it's actually not that uncommon. why go around a trench, when you're good enough, and have the tools to go over it. We would also use this method to get on and off the flat bed. With an excavator however (what mythbusters used) It's much harder, not having the front bucket and all. Also they used a rather small one, witch increases the angles needed.

This backhoe has been adopted for this work: look at the darker coloured 'legs' behind the front wheels (they fit to the sites of the wagon) , the extra plates on the side of the frontbucket and the adopted legs. This prevents the backhoe from sliding of the wagon. So: it's real.
