  • This part is the worst of the 3, but this ending is simply perfect, and a 3 part is still needed, though.

  • Even the most celebrated gangsters die like anyone else - some too early some too late ... though the gangbangers just kill each other off because that's their way - see in the movies do it on the street ... so! Check out the meeting between Michael Corleone and the Catholic Father in Godfather 3 where Michael confesses his murder of Fredo. One Father to another - Michael doesn't get the story about the stone in the fountain - most filmgoers miss this too. Great Fucking Family Movie!

  • every time i watch this part i tear up

  • I really did not think that this film was as bad as the critics made out.

  • Damn oranges get everyone.

  • SOLO NOI ITALIANI POSSIAMO COMPRENDERE QUESTO FILM !!!

  • i can't like this video............

  • when i saw this i want to cry

  • Really was the best part of the film. As a whole (compared to the first two) the film is a failure, but this very final scene is really quite well done.

  • @bernlin2000 I cried

  • L'intermezzo di "Cavalleria Rusticana"!

  • Poor Apollonia died in the same courtyard.

  • 4 absolutely beautiful women he fucked....what a lucky bastard

  • We come into this world with nothing and we leave it with nothing, regardless of wealth or power. If you die and you've made just one life better, even in a small way, it was worth you being here. A very sad ending to a beautiful trilogy, but before you shed any tears for him (his character), remember just one thing. When you kill a man, you aren't just killing a person, you are killing everything that that person would have become. I think that he (his character) had about 20 years before dyin

  • i was more sad when Vito died ... but Mickey was also a good Godfather

  • Anybody else notice they used the same music as the raging bull opening

  • He died the year I was born -3

  • Did he deathed?

  • BEST TRILOGY EVER!!!

  • watery eyes

  • Michael Corleone :,(

  • Rest In Peace Michael Corleone.

  • there are 2 scenes in godfather on which i cry: when Don Vito Corleone dies, when Michael is crying when her daughter dies and then he dies all alone. :( Mchael Corleone man who was always thinking and taking care of family dies alone. this is poetry!

  • I always forget how incredibly powerful this scene is.

  • diane keaton = beauteous

  • The only movie to actually tear me up at the end. Unreal trilogy.

  • I've just recently watched all three Godfather movies. I liked them all (including the third). But I think I'll never look at an orange the same way again.

  • his father died while playing with his grandson and he's happy died. but michael... dies alone and he's so sad... important point : vito and michael died by natural causes..

  • @badmanigga and died in same garden.. with orange....

  • Michael Corleone dies a broken man = The saddest scene in the movie.

  • what is the name of the song when it is showen michael's memories?

  • @TheCiubaca intermazzo look it up on youtube its live 1 opera fucking brilliant

  • @TheCiubaca Pietro Mascagni: Cavalleria rusticana - Intermezzo

  • only good part of Godfather 3 first two were classic

  • I want Godfather 4 with Robert De Niro what he does make as Don...

Ps. Sorry for my bad english :)

  • he got his redemption, he didn't die alone

  • and again its the orange that shows death...

  • Michael Corleone is the most memorable character in cinema history.

  • fucking beautiful... that is all

  • the movie could have been better - but atleast the ending scene was brilliant.

  • he learned that money and power were not the things he needed he lost the most mean full thing to him and died learning a lesson

  • 3 was shit. But I love that final scene of him on the chair.

  • They made al pacino look very old in this movie, when he was young

  • Why is he dressed like he's back in the thirdies?

  • @spareaxe - I think it is supposed to be similar to what his father (Vito) was wearing when he died. A visual reference that states that he was still just like his father, no matter how he tried not to be. However, where they differ is that he is utterly alone when he dies and lost the most important thing to him, his daughter - his one hope of seeing his business empire become legit. But it all ends just like in the opera. A classic film, tainted a bit by poor acting but still a great film.

  • I like sex

  • i like Godfather III because it showed Michael really striving to change legacy og the Corleone family. Remember he was the one his father had plans for to be bring the family into a legitimate life. He had no choice to go in cause he loved his father and was loyal to him and his family. I would have loved to seen a Godfather Part IV to see where Vincent took the family. Mr, Coppola its not to late!

  • *Stand up Ovation alone in front of my Laptop*

  • Godfather 1= The best. Godfather part 2= Not bad. Godfather part 3= terrible

  • you know every time you see a orange in this movie some one dies

  • vito and michael corleoe died by natural causes. no one killed them, no one!

  • @badmanigga That is definetly a good point.

  • I agree with Coppola, they should have made just one.

  • You can still catch "joey zaza" on "criminal minds" (he plays a cop lol)

  • It's not about him being feared thus dying alone; It's showing his complete turnaround. Shortly after finally giving up his sinful lifestyle and turning the power over to someone else, he chooses to move back to Sicily, give it all up, and age and dye in loneliness and peace. I think it's a perfect ending.

  • @freerunnerJ He didn't choose to give it up. He wanted desperately to give it up and couldn't get out.

  • This is definitley the second saddest moment in the entire Godfather Universe. Thanks To Money and Power Mike ended up all alone and died with no loved one next to him.

  • The best ending to a movie! CREATIVE MASTERPIECE.

  • I think that there are 28 dislikes because 28 people think Michael should have lived forever!

  • It was the perfect ending, and a perfect story of criminal life. For a big house and power, Michael caused the death of his wife, ruined his 2nd wife's life, ruined his sister's life, murdered his brother, and lost the most precious thing in the world to him, his daughter. For what? For money that wasn't his? The whole family was garbage, and I admire the filmmakers for telling it like it is for these people--no happy endings and they all got what they deserved.

  • They should have stopped with Godfather 2, Godfather 3 is diarrhea from a pig's ass.

  • @biagiotti2006 your the pussy bitch

  • @fullmetaldudie awwwwe someone's got their little panties all in a bunch over a movie... ;p

  • @biagiotti2006 hahhaa bigie get the fuck out pleas if you dont like the movie?!

  • @biagiotti2006 godfather 3 was a travesty because they were going to write in a different story involving tom hagen but robert duvall had disputes with the movie directors about his salary so they had to write in a different story.

  • That song at the end its used in the start of raging bull with Robert De Niro

  • this made me cry :(

  • So mutch Power, So mutch Money and family and you die alone in your garden

  • Isn't this the same music hollis mason dies to in watchmen's director's cut? pretty sure it is, the watchmen music is cavalleria rusticana - intermezzo. they might just sound similar tho

  • @5pointsfromgryfindor No, you're exactly right. It's the same piece of music. Watchmen just enhanced the sound quality and edited it for the scene.

  • @TrulyAppleStudios I knew it! This is probably one of the best scores to use for a death scene, and they were both really well done with the use of memories, even tho the 2 guys went out completely differently

  • Who else cried when Don Corleone, the greatest Don of all time, the Godfather just fell off and died?

  • I hope I don't die full of shame and regret, but if I do I want it to be to this song.

  • What a mixed bag movie. Some brilliant moments and also some boring blah blah bullshit. FANTASTIC camera work and music.

  • This scene made me cry.

  • This may be the best scene from all Godfathers ,althought it's very hard to say and decide

  • This movie is so underrated. You can't say a movie was shit because it failed to match the two most critically acclaimed movies of all time.

  • @TheWiseMonkey666

    This movie was shit.

  • @biagiotti2006 What the **** did you say!?

  • @biagiotti2006 then your shit

  • @hellboyattack1 *You're, not your. :)

  • @biagiotti2006 ok thanks.

  • :'(......

  • such a great ending. the irony in that michael, who always talks about family values and togetherness, dies alone.. its poetry

  • Him dying here reminds us we will all die one day. The Bible says that we will die once and then be judged by God. If you ever lies, stolen, lusted after a woman/guy, hated, taken God's name etc your on your way to Hell. But Jesus (who is God) came and died on the cross taking our sins upon His sinless self. We broke the law He paid our fine. We need to repent (turn away from sin) and trust in Him alone and we will be forgiven and enter in Heaven when we die

  • @dandan688 LOL and what makes you think that YOUR God is the one true God? As far as I'm concerned, every religion will say their God is the one true God. And yes we all will die, if you bother wasting your life worried about something nobody has ever seen, that will just waste your life. Worry about what you have now, what you can improve now. Trust me when I say this, humanity has seen thousands of different religions and Christianity isn't even the one to last the longest, soon enough kids

  • @dandan688 will be learning in school about Christianity just like they learn about the greek Gods and mythology. Truth be told haha

  • Great ending to an average movie.

  • I actually liked this one better than the Godfather 2

  • Frances Ford Coppella wanted to make Godfather part 4. Which would focus around Vincent as the new godfather. Ray Loitta, Luis Guzman, Leonardo DiCaprio and Andy Garcia were all interested in the project. But Part 4 was cancelled because the producer died in 1997

  • @LegoCreations123 Frances Ford Coppella didn't even want to make part 3, but had to because he was broke

  • @smellycurryman Godfather 3, even tho its the least favorite, is the most important film of the trilogy. Godfather 3 was showed an old wiser Michael and his reflection on his life. Michael is full of regret and sadness. This is why Vito was so worried about Mike. He didn't want Mike to end up the way he did.

  • The film was set in 1979 which Michael was 59 and Vincent was 33, in 1997 Michael was 77 and Vincent was 51.

  • Never Dance With The Devil

  • They should have used different music instead of ripping off Raging Bull. Like Scream 2 ripping off the music from Broken Arrow. Originality is key to a good movie.

  • @CHU011 This IS a good film.

  • @CHU011 They didn't "rip off Raging Bull" . . . the song is a famous piece of Italian music called "Cavalleria Rusticana: Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana", no movie made that up.

  • @TheSouthernPsycho I mean the music been used in a movie already, don't wear it out. Francis Coppola brags about his daughter's acting and his father composing the music for the Godfather 3. So why stop there, that's why I said originality is key. I love the Godfather part 3 but, the ending with the music, killed it for me.

  • This comes down to the Philosophy of is it better to be loved or feared. Vito was Loved hence he died with a massive family. And Michael was Feared, he died alone.

  • what's the name of the song in the background???

  • the perfect message of the godfather. Michael became his own worst enemy, losing everything that should have really mattered to him.

  • This is why I don't want to outlive the ones that I love.. and 1 question, where the hell is Vincent?

  • The secret of the oranges.1:13

  • I was born in 1997.

  • @RegiusRexRegis reincarnation :O

  • The ending should have been the ghost of Sonny Corleone comes back and kills everyone. That would have been awesome.

  • @tedcantu1 That would flat out do some work. Plain and Simple.

  • @tedcantu1 Kills who? Sonny would go after Barzini and that pimp Tattaglia, What do you think Sonny would've thought of Vincent, He didn't even know Lucy was Pregnant.

  • One word : OUTSTANDING

  • The Cat is the new Don!

  • @mongotheman99 LOLLOL

  • A sad ending to a legendary character.

  • from being a civilian who didnt want to do anything with the family business to a god father then...to die....alone

  • Well, at least the dog ate good that night.

  • I still think the ending of Part II was more appropriate, but for what this is, it works. I definitely do not hate this movie like a lot of other people do.

  • @AStopMotionChannel, how could it be more appropriate? I thought it was a positively brilliant ending to the first two first films but with the inclusion of III, this tragically ironic ending was just as brilliant.

  • @vaxxon1 Maybe it's just me, but I really enjoyed the ambiguity of the ending in Part II. I found it to be more effective. Part III, for all of it's strengths and weaknesses, ended pretty much the way I would've guessed it would end: Michael dying a bitter and lonely old man.

  • Michael: *foreveralone*

me: dont feel bad i feel the same way

    Michael: *dies*

Me: fuck now im alone *FOREVERALONE*

  • This scene really opened my eyes to what sort of person i am,and for that on this day i redeem myself and will try to be more sociable with everyone.

  • Ci vediamo all'inferno..Mike..

  • 0:32-0:36 is a scene I always think about and smile. Such acting, such directing, such screenplay. All 3 movies were 5 stars out of 5!

  • I think when people saw the sequence with his loves then when he put on his sunglasses i think people no i KNOW that people were standing for Al Pacino's acting in this great trilogy

  • Goodbye Godfather :'(

  • He ended up alone with his face in the dirt......This is not the way it actually happened.....

  • i cant think of more sad ending in movies

  • Even his dogs don't take much notice of his death.

  • The daog was like "It wasn't me"

  • most epic scene ewaaaaa

  • At the end he lost everything and died alone, but his father died happy, Vito was far more successful than Michael

  • Sigh.. : /

  • never bought that the assasin missed Micheal, I always thought Mary was the target all along. Remember that this guy was the absolute best assasin in Silciy and they kept reminding us thru the movie that times had changed> at 1 time the Mafia would never think to target the women/children !what better way to destroy Micheal than to kill the 1 thing left in his life but his daughter everyone else had either been killed or deserted him

  • @ohwell94 what you say actually makes sense man. even if Altobello didn´t got him killed but with the death of his daughter he destroyed him on the inside and that way Michael wouldn´t represent a threat for him.

  • @johncenalaw yup would have destroyed Micheal and blown the family apart Altobello asked Vincent if wiht Micheal gone Mary gets control of everything right? well with Mary gone Mike sick Tony not interested and Vincent joining his family then the family is done no retaliation Little did he know that Micheal had destroyed his own family by giving control to Vincent anyway

  • @ohwell94 you´re right, as times change there was no room for a mafia like the old italian one in this world sooner or later the family was going to be destroyed but the thing i don´t understand is why mosca (the assasain) was targeting Michael from the balcony if the target was Mary, and also why does Michael gets a bullet (in the shoulder). I think that mosca wanted to kill as many members of the family as he could.

  • @johncenalaw I think ( and this is just a theory ok lol) the bullet in the shoulder was to distract him and others as he zeroed in on Mary and I think for the same reason also for the balcony if he hit Micheal in some non life threatening way then he could zero in on Mary while they all rushed to protect Micheal. Remember there were two shots and we never saw the second shots target.

  • @ohwell94 that could be true but anyway as things turned out he got a destiny worst than death, he lost the only person that still loved him.

  • I didn't care much for this one at all I thought it paled in comparison to the other 2 but that silent scream where he is just so overwhelmed with the pain and the fact that this was a man who tried so hard to stay out of that life was forced into it tried so hard to go legit died one lonely sad man broken man

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I WAS BORN AT THE YEAR MICHEAL DIED!

  • at least Michael will be with Sonny and Don Vito again

  • @TheJaguar005

Coppola has mentioned as an afterthought that if Michael were to meet Vito in the afterlife, Vito would be disappointed with him. That in itself is pretty sad.

  • I nearly cried when he just died like that :'(

  • Whats the name of this song?

  • @Muth550 the song name is Pietro Mascagni - Cavalleria Rusticana :)

  • @Pepszpepsz Thanks ;)

  • @Pepszpepsz

The "song" is actually the Intermezzo before the third act of Cavalleria Rusticana, which is an opera written by Pietro Mascagni. This is to clear up any confusion and make it easier to find.

  • I hope they never remake The Godfather, because this movie was, and still is to this day the greatest movie that was ever created.

  • @Corleone2239 you´re right man there was suppossed to be a godfather part 4 that was going to tell the story of what happened to vincent and his empire but i think they would have ruined everything.

  • A very sad ending of a great movie, this final goes through my heart!

    R.I.P. dear corleone family. :'-(

  • @ReneStahmann Well, one might say it was a case of chickens coming home to roost...I mean, it's not like the Corleone family never killed anyone...;-)

  • @ReneStahmann Well, one might say it was a case of chickens coming home to roost...I mean, it's not like the Corleone family never killed anyone...;-) In a way, it's karmic payback for Fredo, too.

  • >>waiting for that dog? to pee on him

You coward. You dare to say this - only and only - because you know that there's no one around anymore to give you an offer you can't refuse.

    Shame on you! :)

  • wait so when did he die when he and mary got shot or by himself with the dogs, and if so how via heart attack, stroke etc

  • @colts0627 he most likely died of diabetic complications; Mr Coppola and Mario Puzo put many hints in the first two movies that Mike was a diabetic and drank a lot of water on screen as a small hint.

  • waiting for that dog to pee on him

  • the ending redeemed the Godfather III

  • @DonCorleone87 why redeem?

it wasnt at good as the first 2, but its still a million times better than the crap we have in cinemas today

  • R.I.P. to all Corleone.

  • The Dog should get best supporting actor

  • what's soundtrack please

  • @Kamensky93 yea but i think he coulda died even worse

  • @Kamensky93 hahaha yea but he took a lot of bullets

  • 1:33 the dog's pissing on his head
