probably one of the reasons crusties aren't hating this (in addition that scott is in it) and hate the bands you've mentioned have a lot to do with "just" the lyrics. if you change the vocals to just "a bit" raspier and change the lyrics to socio-political commentary and about killing cops, the common thing between these bands, the music itself, becomes pretty insignificant when comparing them.

anyway, I heard an interview with LoC awhile back where Stza (guitar/vox in this band) said that most of there songs are basically rip-offs of pop songs with lyrics about social/political issues. And they really are a pop punk band, that's friggin obvious.

Lagwagon and MxPx are shitty pop punk bands though. Blink's early stuff rules.

The difference is Scott would never sign a deal that compromised his artistic integrity, which is more or less what you have to do to make it in pop music.
