  • oh my gosh THIS IS AWESOME!!! I have always wanted a koi pond, and a few years ago I built a frog pond. Now it has many plants growing in it randomly, a few lily pads, many tadpoles, frogs, and a couple tiny fish. After a year of growing, it has tons of algea...

    NOWHERE AS BEAUTIFUL AS THIS!!!

  • Lovely pond, beautiful koi this pond is awesome. Good job

  • however remember that you need the bubbler to make the holes because if your pound on the ice very hard you could kill your fish cause of the shock due to their dormant state

  • Beautifull fish i particuarly love the yellowish butterfly koi :)

  • @Rboybot THANKS!

  • gorgeous pond, your water is so clear, im jealous i wish my was clean right now but my uv starilizer isnt working and it is so green, can you tell me how many gallons my pond is it is 18 feet x 12 feet and varies in depth from about 2 feet to 4.5 feet, the shallower part is a lot smaller than the deeper end

  • A job well done.

  • Im from New york and i heard of Koi surviving the winter, is this true

  • @Bigfoot16 yup... im from philly ( same temperatures) and they survive all winter

  • @Bigfoot16 as long as the water is deep enough and the body of water has several holes to let out the gasses that build up within the body of water than they should be fine.

  • wowwww i want one

  • Very nice... you've giving me some ideas for my pond.

  • Aye, I went to the pond place where they sell everything about the ponds including koi fishs...They measure mah pond n they tell me how many gallons is mah pond. Mah pond is about 2475 gallons! close to 2500 gallons! Yay!

  • also im making pond right now...actually it a wood pond. it 11.7 inches width, 7 inches length. im digging like 3 ft down....plus about 4 more ft up...total is 7ft (from da bottom to the outside). Is that more than 1500 gallons?

  • are you sure you dont mean feet? a 11.5 INCH by 7 INCH by 7 FEET long is not a pond thats a surfboard. haha. you will not be able to keep fish in anything like that but you are at about 40 gallons... if all of the measurements are suppose to be in feet you are at 3000-4000 gallons... lemme know,...

  • Im sorry, yeah you right....i meant feet. Im so dumb....I have no idea why I say inches lol! Yupp feets! Lol, your funny! everything is in feets! Im almost finish digging...tomorrow is my last day to dig cuz today i been digging from 9 am in the morning to 5 pm. =) I will upload mah video of mah pond sooner!

  • I need help please....Once I get my pond done...how long will it be ready to put my koi fishs in it?

  • not knowing where you are located ( i am in the east coast USA) as long as you temperature will stay warm for months to allow the fish to get acclimated before winter you can cycle the pond with comet goldfish for 6 weeks and then slowly start adding koi... the reason i asked for you location is becuase my pond is currenty frozen except for the holes where i have my jets... and you can never add fish to a cold pond...

  • Ohh thanks for letting me know. Well Im from Houston, Texas....it not always freezing over here...only from Nov to Feb...just winter. The rest is warm weather

  • What are the measurments in feet? length, width and depth.

  • its in the description...

"this is the first video of my 3500 gallon ( 25'x9'3') koi pond/ water garden" its 25 feet long, 9 feet wide, and the average of 3 feet deep.

  • That is so weird, I have been told that my pond is 19,000 Gallons and my pond is 19x19x4.5 feet. How is yours 3500 gallons and mine is 19,000 gallons when mine is only a little larger than yours?

  • yours is about 12000 gallons... 4.5 feet deeo makes a big difference, plus the added width. if my pond as 4.5 feet deep it would be 8000 gallons... so yours is def not 19000 but 12000.

  • How much does 1 koi carp cost?

  • that is not an easy question to answer... depending on size, quality, and where and how it was bred anywhere from $10-$100000. yea, i know! gimme a little more details and i can give you a better answer...

  • I was just wondering because I plan top build a pond in my back garden during spring and I like koi carp but I was worried they would be to expensive

  • if you buy domestic koi, its not the fish that will be expensive... you could buy a bunch of small $10-$20 koi and they grow quick!. but making the pond suitable for koi is the problem, it needs to be at least 1500 gallons and in there you can only have a max of 5 koi. and make sure its at least 3 feet deep. you also need a filtration rated for DOUBLE the pond size as koi are very messy! Let me know, im here for any questions!

  • I think I just might get some common goldfish but thanks for the advice it was really helpfull. =)

  • no problem, you could just do some commons, comets, subumkins, etc. they are all cheap and easy to take care of...

  • Great pond great video.. thanks for sharing my friend

  • Wow, I love your butterfly's.....

  • thanks! you should see em now

  • hey if use cement will i need to use a liner

  • nameis-that all depends, if you find a fish safe POND cement then you will be okay. regular concrete WILL NOT work. it is porous and will poison your fish.

  • That is how fishponds should be!, pump and fountain , plenty of plants , you have an amazing pond! i love it, but i would put a waterfall running into it but thats just me , i like waterfalls.

  • THANKS A LOT! you should'v seen it now! that plants took over! the lillies cover a 12x12 area and i made $200 on the hundreds of hyacinths that spread. About the waterfall- next year i am extending the pond and building a large waterfall that will split and go into both ponds! thanks a lot for your amazing comment! made my day.

  • nice setup

  • thanks, currently putting together an update...

  • how deep is it

  • its average is 2.5' deep. but its drops down to 3.5' in the middle.

  • Good I am glad to here it is over 3ft deep. Good work. I have just built a 4ft deep koi pond but it is not finished yet. Still got the edges to do. Great pond.

  • thanks and good luck!

  • Nice Butterfly Koi, Where Can U Get Them From I Cant Find Em Anywhere...

  • he was from a friends pond that closed down but he was originally from a Japanese koi farm whose name i cant remember. where are you located? you can find them online 100% but you can most likely find them in any pond supply store like mine for example. mine is located in Pennsylvania.

thanks so much for the comment and i hope i can help.

  • Very nice pond and fish wtg

  • thanks so much!

  • how much do koi cost?

  • that all depends on the type ( domesticated, Israeli, Japanese) size, quality, and age.

for example the big white platinum ogon butterfly in my video is priced at $4500.

and the other two at $3500 because they are Japanese.

Israeli koi that size and quality will probably be around $1000- $1500

and domestic would be way under $1000 more like $400.

so it all depends on what you are looking for.

  • i work at a pond supply shop and we sell premium koi which are priced $10 for 3-4" all the way up to $250 for 14-16"

    hope this helped!

  • AMAZING! Very nice fish and pond! I will be putting some videos of our pond sometime this summer, you probably watched the one pond video, but we are currently making it bigger!

  • good for you! and im also gonna post a video of my 98 gallon African cichlid tank.

    thanks a lot.

  • Beautiful fish and pond. Though I can't say yelling rock 'n' roll is the first musical theme that comes to mind when watching a serene aquascape like this one lol. Still a good vid though I gave it a 5/5

  • thanks a lot, and i actually had more mellow music but these youtube copy write laws made me switch it using audio swap so i just picked one of my favorite bands. i may switch it when i get a chance to sift through what they have a available. but any way thanks so much!

  • awesome pond!

  • thank you so much!

  • GREAT POND! i love the fish and the clarity of your water!

    Great job!

maybe you should also think of posting an update when everything grows.

  • i definitely will pretty soon, and thanks you so much!

i greatly appreciate all of these nice comments.

  • Yea very nice koi where they that big when you got them..

  • the big guys were about 19 inches and are about 29 now. and they have only been in there for less than a year!

  • Nice pond you have there, well set out, and a nice variety of Koi, well done

  • THANKS SO MUCH!

  • How do you keep your water so clear.

  • filtration, circulation and more filtration. plants majorly help to.

the whole volume of the pond gets filtered 6 times an hour which is 6 times the minimum.

    i use a tetra pond 4000 with u.v

a pentair lifeguard aquatics all in one filter and fountain kit

and a filter weir filled with pads and lava rock.

hope that helps! feel free to ask more questions!

    i hope you liked it.

  • Wow...this is beautiful! Good Work! How'd you learn to do that?

  • Wow! What a BEAUTIFUL pond! I wish i had one...=)

  • Hey Will, when are you going to start working on a patio next to the pond? Great job kiddo!
