A wonderful reading, but--- and isn't there always a "but"?--- a tad too metronomic, abetted by the "clunking" of the pedals and lower keys. I, too, adore de Leeuw's interpretation. Yours is close, regardless of the caveats.
This is absolutely lovely! Thank you so much for sharing. Played really well, too. - brought back memories of a trip to France with my grandmother I had when I was young.
My daughter hasn't started Satie yet, but that is exactly what I would love to hear her working on in the next room. Time to give the piano teacher some new music!
i'm really starting to get back into classical music. havnt been for a few years. and i just came across erik satie. and he does have some really excellent pieces. i think i'm gonna do this one next
i played this song with my orchestra the concert was outrageouss u had to be there there was bombs and everything and canons and like 500 student; the elementary kids + the junior high kids + the high schoolser + perfessionals = ALOT
good job on this song but a little more dynamics! :)
notes are all right but where's the music not enough dynamics and tempo was pretty much all the same throughout the song... satie's works aren't sopposed to be robotic like that
Lovely and soft. It is also somber.

For my taste a little bit too much rubato. You can express the same gentle feelings while keeping the pace a tiny bit. It is not far off though.

Stefan Baby, I adore you.
But you already know that.

Schön das du dich an Reinbert De Leeuw hältst, meiner Meinung nach die schönsten Satie-Interpretationen aller Zeiten..

Interesting to hear this at a slower tempo. The Jean-Yves Thibaudet version is twice as fast.

Your performance makes me think of Reinbert De Leeuw who did a complete Satie works in the 80s something.
I love your interpretation too, elegant.
Thanks for bringing back my memory in the 80s.
Danke
