Great sets and costumes. This is as wonderful interpretation as is the one with GP and with KB.They all add a slightly diffferent flavor. I like the continuing thread in this one which highlights Emma's lack of travel ( and her father's fear of travel) outside High Berry ( sp?) as opposed to Frank, Jane and Mrs. Elton, Mr Knightly and Emma's sister. The end where Emma sees the sea for the first time is perfect for this version.

i've never read the book yet. I do think it does show far too much flaunt of emotion. I am pretty sure Emma will end up with Mr. Knightly. I do like Frank though; he seems really sweet. Ok forgive me but I loathed Mr. Elton, but I thought he was reasonably handsome. This love square thingy reminds me of a midsummer night's dream.

Oh my goodness! This version is killing me! There is FAR to much emoting for a Jane Austen era story! The behavior of almost every character borders on impropriety! It changes the entire flavor of the story.

I do too, perhaps because he stands up to emma all the time instead of mooning over her like the usual romantic interest. It's far more entertaining. Nice to have a hero with backbone and a personality.
