I have given so much to rebuilding Iraq and some of my brothers and sisters have gave it all.
Whenever we try to help our progress is undermined by some militant group fighting selfishly for power and assaulting and lying to the people who only look to rebuild their country into a free country.
But the media angers me the most. They portray our sacrifices as negatively as possible and show none of the positives. Like our sacrifices were for nothing.

I wouldn't be fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq if it was for the "Empire of the US, corrupt politicians, or corporate interests". If that was so then I would have done so.
However I have spent over 60 months of my life deployed to these two countries. I'm familiar with their people and cultures. I have friends there. Everyday I fight for and with these people for THEIR country not mine.

I however disagree with you on saying our gov't is corrupt. The United States government is way to large and has way to many factions to say the entire government is corrupt. My mother worked for a government agency that provided nutritional information for schools and she wasn't corrupt. Our defense department is rather competent. So long as military officers are in the leading role in military conflicts im confident in our military interventions.

Exactly, I don't want to make their lives any worse. I would love for Afghanistan and Pakistan to be US and NATO allies, hell the whole damn Middle East if they won't shoot at us. I want to help better the country, but the Taliban only want us out.
Especially the kids make me have a soft spot in my heart for them. I'd prefer them get a good image of the US, handing out soccer balls and toys and candy. I plan to join the Army in a few years when I'm able. I only want to make the country better.

@audallas841 One and a half million Iraqi casualties due to the US invasion, mostly civilian (women and children), thats more than any other single country. Of course if you are going to count the amount of Iraqis killed by other middle eastern country's over the period of a long time, then yes the numbers might match or exceed the US caused casualties. Just stating facts, love these videos though, great example of humanity's kindness.

The US has displaced millions of Iraqis and has contributed to the fact that nearly 5 million Iraqi children are orphans. It's nice that some troops do this and they're nice people, but it's because those are good people and not because the mission is good. Many of these children would have even been better under Saddam, and he was a murderous pig.
well i'm from iraq, and i was live there during the war, and i can say that some american soldiers are really good, and they helped a lot of people there, but also there are the ones who killed the kids, and people.but iraq biggest problem is iran, not america, and most who killed people there are the irani.

This is what kill me...
I have given so much to rebuilding Iraq and some of my brothers and sisters have gave it all.
Whenever we try to help our progress is undermined by some militant group fighting selfishly for power and assaulting and lying to the people who only look to rebuild their country into a free country.
But the media angers me the most. They portray our sacrifices as negatively as possible and show none of the positives. Like our sacrifices were for nothing.

However I have spent over 60 months of my life deployed to these two countries. I'm familiar with their people and cultures. I have friends there. Everyday I fight for and with these people for THEIR country not mine.

I however disagree with you on saying our gov't is corrupt. The United States government is way to large and has way to many factions to say the entire government is corrupt. My mother worked for a government agency that provided nutritional information for schools and she wasn't corrupt. Our defense department is rather competent. So long as military officers are in the leading role in military conflicts im confident in our military interventions.

Exactly, I don't want to make their lives any worse. I would love for Afghanistan and Pakistan to be US and NATO allies, hell the whole damn Middle East if they won't shoot at us. I want to help better the country, but the Taliban only want us out.
Especially the kids make me have a soft spot in my heart for them. I'd prefer them get a good image of the US, handing out soccer balls and toys and candy. I plan to join the Army in a few years when I'm able. I only want to make the country better.

Of course if you are going to count the amount of Iraqis killed by other middle eastern country's over the period of a long time, then yes the numbers might match or exceed the US caused casualties. The US has displaced millions of Iraqis and has contributed to the fact that nearly 5 million Iraqi children are orphans. It's nice that some troops do this and they're nice people, but it's because those are good people and not because the mission is good. Many of these children would have even been better under Saddam, and he was a murderous pig.
