Oxidation of iron by air is not the only exothermic reaction of iron, you know. Oxidation by steam (h20) is also a very exothermic reaction at temperatures above 400C. This is a classic case of a reversible reaciton that we all learn in highschool chemistry (perhaps merrimac291 hasn't it that far). Now add in gypsum reactions with H2 and CO and we have a great source of SO2 and/or H2S to sulfide the steel!

Tower 7s descent was broken up into 3 stages of various descent speeds by NIST. Stage 1 was slower than gravity, as progressive collapse had not yet taken out all significant support structures. Stage 2 fell at freefall seeing as all significant support structures (every single critical column) was taken out through progressive failure. Iron and steam is a very exothermic reaction, rubble piles were kept at ground zero for days. More than enough time to have this exothermic reaction of iron and steam to keep the rubble pile very hot, enough to produce pools of molten debris.

Oxidation of iron by air is not the only exothermic reaction of iron, you know. Oxidation by steam (h20) is also a very exothermic reaction at temperatures above 400C. This is a classic case of a reversible reaciton that we all learn in highschool chemistry (perhaps merrimac291 hasn't it that far). Now add in gypsum reactions with H2 and CO and we have a great source of SO2 and/or H2S to sulfide the steel!

Way to get off the subject. All I've done is just explained how molten metal could've gotten under the piles, an explanation that doesn't involve ridiculous thermite. It's actually a scientific fact merrimac, iron can form an oxidation reaction with steam when the iron is hot enough, the reaction produces hydrogen, which then forms more water, thereby becoming self sustaining.

The fact is, when iron is over 400C, steam can produce an exothermic reaction with it (which has hydrogen as one of the products). This is a scientific fact, you can't argue with this merrimac.
The rubble piles were untouched for a couple of days (even weeks for some piles), more than enough time to have the oxidation reaction cook the metal, also, spraying water on the piles made it worse.

So, there is really nothing odd at all about the molten pools of metal found at the base of the tower. They can easily be explained by a rudimentary high-school level reversible chemical reaction.
The reaction between Fe (iron) and h20 g (steam) gives off heat and hydrogen as one of the products. The heat is more than enough to melt down surrounding debris.
As far as free fall speed, free fall is a symptom of progressive collapse, seeing as all supports failed before collapse sequence.

Tower 7s descent was broken up into 3 stages of various descent speeds by NIST. Stage 1 was slower than gravity, as progressive collapse had not yet taken out all significant support structures. Stage 2 fell at freefall seeing as all significant support structures (every single critical column) was taken out through progressive failure. Stage 3 slowed back down again as the structure met resistance by floor 5

Steel is not a fuel dick heads. You need a constant 2500 degree temp to melt steel. Steel is not like wood where it fuels the fire. @bonnielessclyde you do not need a constant supply of fuel. The thermal flux out of the structure only needs to be lower than the flux provided by the fuel for the temperature to above that of the fuel. Try a book on thermodynamics, I suggest Equilibrium Thermodynamics by C.J. Adkins.

chit, what do you mean by my number keeps changing? you mean my you tube name? and who the hell am I? i am a former bush supporter. NOW with complete evidence that bush/cheney/zionists pulled off 911. AND besides. the norad air defense that morning POINTS to murder and complete incompetence by the bush administration anyway. either way, the bush supporter loose in the case of 911. GUILTY.

Wow. I can't believe there are people who are actually commenting on here in agreement with Rosie O'Donnell. I had no idea people were so naive as to believe the conspiracy theories set up about 9/11. These theories just aren't feasible. The Bush administration doesn't have enough power to cover something that huge up. It just not possible. I can't believe people have so little faith in our system of government and our constitution to believe these lies!

I HAD NO IDEA that anyone AS STUPID as YOU are blogging here. I HAVE lost a friend in 911 and,,THERE IS NO PLANE in the new sheraton hotel vidoe of the pentagon attack. NO MISSLE EITHER, IT was a military bomb FROM OUR murderers bush jr and norad/cheney. PLUS, channel 4 live, actually shows NO PLANE hitting the 2nd tower. None of the 'hijackers' were on the official passenger lists (CNN. com) Many of the 'hijackers' are still alive (BBC). None of the 'hijackers' bodies were recovered at any of the crash sites. How did the government give the media names and photos SO FAST -- 10am on 911? Look at the evidence
