Pt 1:

Japan Samurai Blue entered the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa with a disappointing record with 4 losses and a draw in International Friendlies right before the start of the tournament.

In Group E, with the Netherlands, Denmark and Cameroon as their opponents, many thought Japan would finished last in the group.

But Japan won their first match against Cameroon with a 1-0 victory, a suprise to many since Cameroon is known to be one of Africa's strongest teams.

Though they lost their next match to 4th Ranked the Netherlands 1-0, they only ceded 1 goal and play great defence which limited the Dutch scoring ability.

They came back with a great victory against Denmark in a 3-1 victory, 2 amazing free kicks goal by Honda and Endo respectively in the first half, then an amazing past by Honda to Okazaki to ensure their victory.

I wish the Samurai Blue the greatest of luck in the World Cup and to advance as far as they can!

Japan do play beautiful football, but they have some fatal weakness such fitness and shooting. I personally hope Japan can go far in this worldcup not only for themselves but for all of Asia. But look at their opponents, Dutch, Denmark, Cameroon, these are very tough physical sides, also they are all very directly offensive teams, this is the style that Japanese football is naturally not immune to. If Japan do not sharpen up their shooting abilities and fitness, things are very pessimistic.

Having said that, we're happy Japan finally has a decent coach again that understands his players, after all the foreign failures! hmm, to be continued..
