This is the easiest way to mix imo, this is how i tought my self when i first bought 1210's and dint have a clue. still puzzles me when i see djs take their headphones off and adjust the tracks while in the mix with the platter!
I think this type of mixing shines with the 1210 picth has you can just apply pressure to the pitch to lock tracks, that are slighlty out, havent found another picth so responsive.
Reply to every dick head the disrespects johnaton, this man helps thousands of people to dj including very much myself, he also says on nearly on every one of his videos that this is his interpretation of how to do things, so all you fucks saying he doesnt have a clue you should go back to kindergarten!!!
exactly.. johnathons been djing for years! so obv knows what he's talking about.. people who go on about moving the pitch control so much, yeah you don't have to (as he says) but thats his way of doing it since leaning 2 dj on old belt driven turntables... keep the videos up j
man i have to give it to u, mountains of respect,i at the minute only have belt drive turntables but im soon to get technics, this vid has just impressed the pants clean of me,i dont know were u get the time BUT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK......
Hey jonathan.. i do my beatmatching in a different way .. a friend of mine taught me this way .. you calculate the percent pitch you need to change .. and u aproximate.. and sometimes nudge (pitch bend) ..
this is how i calculate it.. ((100+P)/100)X SP = SF
P=Tempo i need to change
SP = the bpm of the previous song
SF = The bpm of the song im mixing in
If you dont understand my point, please tell me.. ill make a video on it..
I think you should make this video again, but with your monitor for us to listen. That way we would all listen to what you actually do from the start, coupled with your pitch movements, and not listen to the final mix, when you do all your work in the headphones and then bring in the beatmatched tune in.
Do you listen to only the song B in your right ear and Song A (the one playing to the audience already) in the left or do you you listen to the Master monitor when you bring up the volume to hear them as the audience does?
I listen to song B in the right ear and song A in my left all the time, A being the music comming through the PA, speakers and B the headphones. johnathan

Johnathan is the man!!! Seriously he is helping so many people in an industry that doesn't necessarily like to share and increase the competition.

this is very different to how i beatmatch, do you not manipulate the record or turntable at all?
MikesSkoolOfMixing 4 years ago
No wheni started to mix i did not have good dx, so if you used your fingers the beats would go totaly off, so i had to try a new style. johnathan

an other idea if you though to make an other vid about this subject, to put the main outpout on one channel and the monitor on another channel....
chris1637hotmail 4 years ago
im pretty sure it says 10% on the turntable

Another great example of how to beatmatch. Much appreciated Johnathan. Thanks
