That humming sound at the beginning always puzzled me, there was obviously a fault with the recording equipment, so why the hell wasn't it rerecorded?

@TashkentFox I think that's a gong - especially considering the other snippets of stereotypical Oriental music that are worked in to the song, like the 'Kung Fu Fighting' riff at 0:10 :-)
