  • i've been lying in bed for the last three hours, unable to sleep, with this damned song going over and over in my head.

  • lol, my dad used to get a kick out of the dude in the end. "SUGAR!!"

  • @themayocycle For real, though. In the mid 80s, I'd rush home from school, and watch Sesame Street. If this segment happened to be on, i coudlnt' wait till the guy said "Sugar". That was the best part, lol.

  • Yeah I actually run those machines at mindak don't look like that anymore

  • I love that greasy guy at the end, what a lovely ending. :)

  • that is a catchy tune! Sugggarr aSuggar a beetbeet beet beeet !

  • I will never get this song out of my head!

  • 1:12 SUGAR!

  • I didn't know that sugar came from sugar cane too until I was 8 or 9 because of this song. LOL

  • That first woman sorting the beets by hand looks like she's working in a coal mine - I'd say I hope factory conditions had improved by today, but her job a is now in another country anyway........

  • I LOVE THIS I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR YEARS!!!! I KNEW I WASN'T CRAZY TO HAVE SOME RANDOM SUGAR BEETS SONG IN MY HEAD WHEW!!!! SEASAME STREET ROCKS!!!!

  • how old it this?

  • @totesme14 I was 5 when i last saw this and im now 34 does that give any indication lol.

  • @totesme14 Think about 1979 or 80.

Least that's when I first recall seeing it.

  • @MIKECNW Thanks :)

  • Who is that saing sugar at the end?

  • this song will never be gone from my head

  • I remember being a kid watching this and being like "they get sugar from those washing machines?? Cool!"

  • Anybody know the name of this song?

  • @CommentClown :) :)

  • @CommentClown well i banged my head on this one, but if you listen to the whole song right at the end they say the name of the song, its called sugar :) lol

  • Wow...I remember "Sugar beet-beet, sugar beet..." but it sure got trippy after that. Ah, being young in the seventies.

  • From Season 9.

  • Where the hell is the Techno Remix to this? its like 20 years overdue!

  • @DaveGSN

NO! I REALLY don't like it when Classics are re-made!

  • This is so funny!

  • LOL @ the guy at 1:12 when he says SUGAR. No fucker its cocaine....

  • beating sugar beets to the "Sugar Beet Beat" is how you get sugar, sugah! The sugar from a sugar beet, beat to the "Sugar Beet Beat" can't be beat!

  • sugar

  • Classic!

  • I have had this song stuck in my head for about a week now. Glad to finally hear

  • I'm having fun imagining that when they made this, each time the man at the end needed to say "sugar," he was like:

    ....

    ....

    ....

    "Line!"

  • thanks for the video.

  • i wonder who that man is at the end.

  • @slydawg221

Filmed at the Minn-Dak Farmers Coop in Wahpeton, North Dakota. The worker who says "Sugar!" at the end of the film is Aaron Benson.

  • @slydawg221 a guy who loves touching little kids

  • @jackass122676 Like you?

  • @jtomally9681 yeah sure dickhead whatever you say cock-lick....

  • @jackass122676 Yeah. It don't feel too good to be insulted like that does it? Don't say you don't care because if you did not care you would not have replied back.

  • @jtomally9681 Are you related to the guy or something?? What's your issue ???

its a fucken video from the 1980's dude lighten up

  • @jackass122676 Yeah and it also does not give any right to make fun of someone on the film in a sexual way like that unless you are one yourself. There are well more fine looking people who are that way compare to how that guy looks so keep your comment to yourself if you do not have anything nice to say about anyone regardless how old the film is or how old the event was, etc.

  • YEAH! mariadelpiero!!! I used to love the trumpets one!!! There were all those weird sounds and they soaked the parts in that liquid... Ohh man, classic.

  • i don't remember seeing one for trumpets. but sesame street did have one for saxophones. just look up "saxophone" here on you tube.

  • The best kind of sugar is straight from sugarcane.

  • We have a sugar factory in my old town, Torrington. My sister works there. She sent me this clip. I wonder if ahe thinks of that song when she works there...

  • Omg! yay! I still sing this song at 27, i am cool :D lol had to look it up!

  • Probably the dumbest songs ever to go with such a film but still fun to watch.

  • I loved this clip! I still sing this from time to time and I'm 37!

  • 41 and at the mere MENTION of the words "sugar beets" this song is automatically triggered in my brain.. LOL the things that get into our heads as kids and STAY THERE !

  • Is this Dwight Shrute's farm I wonder?

  • "Sugar!"

  • W USA od małego uczą jak produkować jedzenie i co to za praca.A niestety w moim kraju gówno uczą niestety.

  • wtf

  • I had an important presentation for work last week, and this song just flew into my head out of nowhere, and stayed there for the whole meeting. Terrible. 30 years, by the way.

  • Also brainwashed by this. And "loaf of bread, container of milk, and stick of buttah".

  • @WhackaWhacka I manage to forget about this for twenty years and now you go reminding me. God DAMN you.

  • @tanithslast Don't mention it. Any time!

  • @WhackaWhacka agree! ehehee

  • im 28 and i still sing it too lol..thank god for you tube :)

  • my keyboard player wrote that song

    jack kolber Arety

  • 0:56 is the DRAMATIC SUGAR! (BOMP-BOMP-BOOOOM)

  • Oh my goodness, I have not seen this video in 24 years. Just a few days ago I was talking to my husband about this video clip. I told them it influenced me to eat my beats when I was a child.

  • Thank you for this video. This song has been stuck in my head for 20 years.

  • I am in my mid 40s now and i heard this song ONCE as a kid. I still find myself singing it on occasion. I'm so happy to find it here, and to find that I'm not alone.

  • Ditto. I'm 25, but 21 years later, I still remember this song.

  • HAHAHHAHAHA "SUGAR!"

  • I just got this song stuck in my head the other day.....and I haven't seen this thing in 20 plus years LOL

When I was a kid, i always wondered why that dude was getting sugar out of a washing machine LOL

Damn it sucks being grown up now lol

  • I agree. I am 32.

  • Suikerbieten :)

  • Every once in awhile, I STILL get this song stuck in my head!

I wonder if they ever did one for high fructose corn syrup =P

  • oh that is too funny! a song about high fructose corn syrup :)

  • I want to know who is that saying sugar? Also I want to say How can that be sugar when sugar grows tall as sugar cane. Those look like some kinf of turnip greens or something.

  • They're called sugar beets, m'dear. That was the point of this thing, to show you that there are other ways to get sugar.

  • According to another posting of this video on here, the man's name at the end of the video is Aaron Benson. I don't know the validity of this statement, I am just passing along what I heard.

  • His name is Aaron Bentizine (spelling) he is the father of one of my co workers.

  • it's been the better part of 2 decades now since i watched this show, yet I still cactch myself singing this song.

  • This song has stayed with me through the years. Love it!
