Wow i have a whole new appreciation for elephants. I did not know that they mate for life, are with their babies for four years, are pregnant for 2 years, i mean holy!!

Elephants are a basically female oriented society. Females are pregnant 9 years approx. They will form a circle with the babies inside to protect them from danger. I love them so much and wish I had one as a friend. I'd spoil it rotten. When they helped to find dead bodies after a tsunami they shed tears when they found one. They feel very deeply and can spot an idiot very quickly.

Cute but it's too bad that years and years of abuse from humans has caused these creatures to start acting out especially African elephants. There have been studies that elephants feel the same emotions as humans as seen in a recent National Geographic special. They are amazing creatures.

I love elephants. They have this majestic aura about them. They are also very intelligent despite the claims of the sizes of their brains. It is said that they can communicate up to 2 miles with one another. And lately scientists have said that it is now even further, perhaps 3 miles plus.

God save their species due to the fact that poachers & rich buyers are waiting to get a hold of their tusks, skin, & meat. What can I do to contribute? Thanks in advance.
