  • AND FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THE BLACK SCREEN FLICKER OF THE VIZIO XVT3D474SV. HDMI IS SIMPLE TO REMOVE ALL ALONE AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE HELP MENU GUIDED SETUP. ON THE PART OF DEVICE SETUP. IT IS VERY EASY. GAMES AND AUTOMATICALLY It is configured 1080P or 720P DEPENDS. YOU CAN TRY and let me know GREETINGS.

  • The the mean time this has resolve the issue for me. The only time I do get this problem is when i switch inputs on the TV while the PS3 in still powered on. I have been threatening to make a full Video on this issue( so i can stop posting stuff on Nismoleb89 video), but i wanna make sure i have the issue taken care of.

Just to let everyone know, this is not a problem with the TV, its an issue with the HDMI handshake between the PS3 and TV. My xbox360 works very well with the same HDMI cables.

  • @Nickct69 Followed these instructions (even did a power reset on the TV) as well as integrated all past suggestions (turned off 24 hz on PS3, HDMI 3 input) to no avail.

  • @flipevent Here is what I suggest. 1) Unplug everything, including HDMI and Power from PS3 and TV.2) Plug everything back in. Plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI 3 slot.3) Then power the TV on.4) Select the 3rd HDMI input. Then power the PS3 on. (Also make sure that in the PS3 display settings for deep colors are turned off). This should allow for a perfect handshake. If this doesn't work u should try a different HDMI cable.HDMI cables can be damaged without u even knowing.Hope this helps

  • @polakrenegade This troubleshooting did fix the issues for a while, but then came back after a few days. I think i've found a permanent fix for the problem, but cannot be sure yet because i need to do more testing. I found a website which has all the info on HDMI Handshake. Basically the website states that you need you power everything down(unplug everything in your setup), then power it up in sequence. First the TV, then you need to select the PS3's input and power on the PS3.

  • to me it only happens when i watch normal tv

when i play ps3 it newer happens

any one have a fix for it?

  • can u watch youtube on this tv

  • @XZ1PB No it doesnt have YouTube

  • Okay, so just an update. After doing some more research on forums, some people have had luck with turning deep colors off in the settings of the PS3. I've also used the HDMI 3 port and since then i haven't had the issue happen. This problem seems to happen with resistance 2 and 3 beta, little big planet, uncharted 2 and heavy rain. I keep you guys updated.

  • @Nickct69 Tested this for an hour - seems like its working. Has it happened to you again yet?

  • Ill definitely try this.

  • I found the issue. Its a HDCP handshack issue. There is a resolve for the issue and its by unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in when the issue happens. Im not sure of any other resolves for this issue.

  • @Nickct69 that fixes it for a little bit, try and just plug ur HDMI in the one that says HDMI/DVI that should fix it!!

  • @Nismoleb89 Which one is the one with HDMI/DVI? HDMI 1,2,3 or 4.

  • @Nickct69 HDMI 3

  • I'll post a video over the weekend showing the settings and running the games i had issues with.

  • The way i resolved the issue was by changing the video settings on the PS3. Go into video settings and then it should have an option to turn the Bluray playback 24hz off. Im sorry im not at home to verify the exact info. I also messed around with resolution and with ps3 but this didnt work. Im currently using a 1.4 HDMI cable and have the fat 80gig ps3.

The guys at sony say it could be an issue with the refresh rate and the 720p resolution on some games. I hope this helps guys.

  • Just flickered on my 474SV. Mind sending me the info @Nickct69 ?

  • @jdc21024 ive noticed some good news, try and hook ur HDMI to the 3rd input, the one that says HDMI/DVI and see what happens.

  • Thanks for getting back to me. I did do some research on this issue, and found it is not only an issues with vizios, but it does happen to other tv brands with a high refresh rate and gaming on the ps3. They way resolved the issue was by changing the settings on the ps3. If you want I'll send you the info. Hope this info helps.

  • @Nickct69 please send the info to me

  • Have you found a resolve for the issue. I was told it had to do with the 3d being on.

  • @Nickct69 if u have the same TV, try hooking the HDMI to the 4th or 5th input the one that says HDMI/DVI see if that helps.

  • mine does it on infamous and on the show 11...that's weird. Idk what to do, just got it..might take it back.

  • @jmpioneer try a diffrent port, i tried it on the HDMI/DVI port and it seems ok so far..

  • wish there was a fix, my tv doing the same thing ... seems it's a ps3/hdmi thing cause it happens with all different brands of tv to people using hdmi

i've read and tried everything, still flickers, really annoying

  • @mrsraytube yes this is the 3rd hdmi cable, same thing always!
