I'm also running on Sunday. I'm running for my granddad who lost his battle with cancer a few days after the last years marathon. I think its going to be a special day!

Good luck to everyone, the Geordie's will be there in force!

  • All the best :)..Hope your mum recovers very very soon :)

  • It is astounding that people make poor comments about such a GREAT event makes money and gives comfort to so many sick and underprivaged people.

The endurance and training and dedication these runners go through is unbelievable for their charities.

Keep up the good work people.

    YOUR EVERYONE A WINNER!

  • hi people im doing this run in 08 its my third time

  • Clearly Metal4everman and Pipendale are experienced marathon runners.

  • Hmmm... it isnt staged by the charities you retrard. it's staged by London Marathon Ltd a company of the best event organisers in the World, the format is taken from Boston marathon, the biggest in the world.

As for the runners, the others are normal people who tackle something out of the ordinary for those less able than themselves, it's called charity. How quick do you think you could do it in now? 2hrs 55 20 years ago, i bet you couldn't do it in under 5 hours these days.

  • its called charity. clearly something you dont understand. I did it in 07 for Cancer Research after i lost my grandparents to cancer.

  • I'm delighted with the jack sparrow and tom and jerry imagery here people :-) A higher quality video is available. Email me.
