I hate reviews that put down a GENUINE MASTERPIECE OF ARCADE STYLE GAMING!Yes it's that good.It's a game that took me back to SEGAs Golden era,which was the best era in gaming history.At 1st I prefered my Saturn port of Virtual On(one of my favourite games ever)but after repeated playthroughs,this version has ALOT more depth than the Saturn port of it's prequal.1st time V'O'ers might be a bit wary,but trust me,the more time u put into this baby,she'll just keep givin& giving u more gamin'heaven!

excuse me MrRANDOMSXBOXBLOG i just wanna ask you something..........did you even once look in the options menu, cause unless you're playing twinstick you aren't doing ti right, default controls suck..........much more enjoyable with twinstick

No other game aside from VO or something close to it like Armoured Core and WarTech makes evasion and the decision making of movement such a crucial component in mech gaming. If you were to say which better games are there out there, those 2 I mentioned are its best rivals but in terms of battle system they are all VERY distinct. If we talk about balance,all fighting games these days are hard to balance but ppl still love for its fun factor. :)

This game is an example of 'Gameplay > Graphics'. But if you prefer 'Graphics > Gameplay', then you might want to look somewhere else.

This is an arcade classic, you can't mark it down for having 'arcade style graphics' . I found the graphics awesome, big bold and colourful, and a great retro look. and wth have achievements go to do with a games overall score? I agree on the price though, a bit expensive for digital content.

Oh, man, five? No offense, man, I understand and respect your opinion, seriously? This is one of Sega's best games. I'm biased, I'll admit, but this is some of the most fun I've ever had with a video game. Simple, no frills, easy to get into fun. Sure, the graphics look dated, but outside of remakes like Bionic Commando Rearmed and original games, all XBLA games look a little "meh." Amazing game, if you ask me.

no offence but why do you do a review if you don't like the series? I can say i havent seen better graphics for the xbox arcade. But I am a wire head ( I like mech games) so i love it! It is a very nice fast paced game! if you like armored core try it out! IN my MIND it is over prised but its worth every penny :)

The reason I gave it 5/10 is not because I am bad at the game but since, the game has dated graphics, the single player component is ridiculously short and the achievements too easy, the connection problems I had in multiplayer and as I feel that 1200MS points is too much for the game.

This game is high learning curve and back in the arcades and dreamcast, it holds a competitive scene. More players will comeback to play this game. Ppl who like a challenge thru online and system link should buy this game bcos there is no fast paced action game that plays like VOOT. single player component is not the pt of the game. Online is what counts.

i agree with your score for the reasons you gave. i found the only people online are Japanese resulting in poor connection despite my ten meg internet connection.
