Before anyone simply just throws random insults at me, this game is pretty decent if you take the time to play it properly. I have played the originals and the Legend of Spyro series, so I do know how different it's become. Besides, if games ALWAYS stayed the same, nothing would ever sell; people who just want the same old stuff all the time need to try something new, it's far healthier. And you don't have to play as Spyro if you don't want to, there are over 30 other characters to play as.

Of course, you all say different because most of you know that Spyro in Skylanders looks like and is a total face smashed wannabe REAL Spyro like from the original first three. I've seen many gameplays of this and it looks non creative, boring, chas look shit, and you have to buy freaking toys and a 'portal' as well as the disc just to play the game.

If you want a REAL perspective, try the game. It's the only way you can really understand the hype.

@GiratinaofFury I'm saying they shouldn't have let so many of the long time original Spyro fans down like this, because of Skylanders coming out there will most likely no longer be a Spyro movie... Also, Spyro is one of the greatest gaming characters of all time, next to some of the Final Fantasy characters like Firion, Cloud or Squall. They put one of the best game characters in history, in a cheap shitty little game which like I said you need to by bits of plastic AND the disc to play.

@BlindedByTheTruthNZ I don't think they have been let down, this was an attempt to try and flesh out the franchise or try and give the character a new lease of life (regardless of his appearance which means nothing when you look at the powers he posesses) and trying to work on a genre or gimmick that was original in an industry that is slowly becoming all to much the same.

I don't think there was even going to be a Spyro movie, unless its being made by a separate producer.

I LOVE SKYLANDERS .I have almost completed it i need 50 crystals to unlock the last gate i got my dark spyro to the highest level witch is 10 my stealth el and level 9 and my ignitor

to level 8 and might be getting wreaking ball and eruptor or prism break and aim to get them all to level 10 by 2013 and when zook, camo and lightning rod come outi will get them. skylanders is the best game ever and the best skylander of all is wreaking ball

This game will definantly bring back Spyro's sales, but for all the wrong reasons. The idea of using real-life figures seems original, but ultimately it's a gimmick for Activision to get more money. DLC is one thing, but having to go back to the store to buy figures is taking it a bit too far. Call me a cynic but that's how I see it. Still it's cool to hear Richard Steven Horvitz as the villain.
