Through All The Trials And Tribulations In My Life I Have Finally Found A Place To Unload My Excess Baggage , And Allow Peace Into My Own Work As A Musician ... Thank You Chris For The Magic That You Create ! JoJo Taylor
i like this version. Softer than the one on the album. He's got that wonderful southern drawl. Love his voice! I got banana, watermelon, i got peaches by the pound, sweet corn, merlaton, mo better than in town, i got okra enough to choke ya, beans of every kind, if hunger what was eating you, i'll sell u a piece of mine. But this ain't what you came to hear me say......"
I heard this song on late night radio on the way home last night and I didn't catch the artist. I must admit that I presumed he was a black dude, what with his voice and all. EPIC song. Thanks for posting
Great songwriter, one of my favorite songs.. this song got me through so many times.. last month singing this to myself at 4am, stumbling in the streets of Bangkok, for someone who absolutely couldn't care less.. but its never a waste of energy. The difference between tragedy and comedy is just the ending - the events are the same. With comedy, hope infuses the tragedy with light. Not a waste of energy, the transformation is important. thanks for sharing, love this more than I can say.
I've seen this guy in Bloomington, IN at the great Lotus World Music Festival, at the Tin Angel in Philly and at The Borderline in London. Every show was an A plus show. He never disappoints. Anybody who appreciates intelligent lyrics, a wicked sense of humor and first class fingerpicking ought to make it a mission to track Chris down the next time he's anywhere near.
love the chorus

This is a fantastic song, but so are all of his songs.
My question is where was this concert filmed? Greensburg, PA? and if so, where?

Some years back, on the show "Homicide, Life On The Street", they had an episode where the suspect was an "Araber" or street produce-seller.
Shortly thereafter, I heard this song on one of the local stations... Pretty cool.
Chris is a great picker and songwriter as well.
