If I am not mistaken the horse in this video is "Captain Rock" a harness trotter foaled at the Historic Miller farm. I took care of this horse as a two year old when just starting in the business at Rosecroft Raceway. The sire was an Honor Rodney stallion named Drexel Steve.
I was taking about this particular commercial tonight at dinner and said "I wonder if it's on youtube" So happy it is! It's the best I've ever seen,,,in fact I wrote the comapany many years ago telling them how it touched my heart..the sent me a Christgmas card with the scene and voucher for a 6-pack,,lol,( made my hubby happy) I've never understood why companies feelk they have to spend money to make a commercial when they have a true winner, and since it;s only a seasonal commercial.

They don't make commercials like this anymore and that's sad. It seems the only ones they put out these days either involve obnoxious hip-hop or unintelligible rock music. Wish we could return to simpler times before corporations ruined everything.
@WildBill6942 That is so true. In fact it's gotten so bad they act like they're afraid to even say "Merry Christmas" anymore. Some stupid atheist or muslim starts complaining and every company kisses their ass.
This is only a portion of the commercial. This commercial originally lasted over a minute; an eternity for an ad. I LOVED, LOVED this commerical. Any way to view the entire commercial?
This is the best one. This one blows away the Budweiser Christmas ads. I feel like watching a Muhammed Ali fight on my grandpa's old 1970s television set. The 'Rockford Files' would come after this.
Very classy, brings back memories. Notice there is no direct beer advertisement here, other than the High Life logo at the very end? If they did this today they'd put 7 or 8 barely dressed blondes with santa hats in the sleigh, emblazoned with Miller Lite.
omg im welling up with tears!!! brings back so many memories growing up and seeing this commercial ....i miss christmas as a kid!

I was told that this is a horse that I used to take care of, a Standardbred named Captain Rock, could that be true?

They don't do ads like this becaouse it's not politically correct to say Merry Christmas any more.

Mine too Anne. I am so thankful to have found this again. It saddens me that they no longer show it on television. Merry Christmas Anne...

There will most likely be no commercial like this one from Miller.
I hope there will be, though.

Beer commercials were so much classier in the old days, weren't they?
mdumas43073 4 years ago 2
They don't seem to be. I was born in 1987, and I do notice the difference in nature about the current and past videos.
Not a bad video by the way....
However, the videos beforehand seemed not so bad really...I really wish they would produce videos based on earlier videos...

Note the "Merry Christmas" before the PC movement of the 80s through today diminished Christmas.
