How to make a passport photo using an ordinary photo

For people who don't have photoshop installed here's a web app I created: freepassportphoto.dyndns.org

It uses face detection technology to automatically crop the photo you submit to the U.S. govt. specs. (search for travel.state.gov and Photo Composition Template)

You need to follow all the guidelines for taking a good photo (again check google for travel.state.gov and Photo Examples). It gives a more comprehensive list of do's and donts when taking u'r own photo than apfotocanada does.

I do passport photos every day all day: There are many reasons why you CAN NOT turn a ordinary photo into passport photos; 1-She has her mouth open; 2-Her head and body are not square to the camera; 3-The lighting is not even; 4-Harsh shadow on the right side; 5-She is smiling; 6-Background is not pure white; 7-Photo should be print on dye sublimation paper and the majority of people don't have this at home, and last but not least Photoshop is not permit on passport photos, there we go my friend
