  • ...Now throw it that far...

  • John Malkovich!?

  • Been there and done that......but didn't end up in a tree. Used to fly a yellow "Wanderer" and launched it like that. That was back in about 1978.

  • hi what's the mass of your aircraft? i need to make some sense to the scaling of my third year project in college. thank you for your help!

  • @krankschaft Around 25 Oz

  • Excellent video! I built my first 2m glider and my own "hi-start" some 35 years ago... It's important to get the right ID/OD latex tubing to match your glider. This technique is especially good and safe in a stiff breeze. That same hi-start proved a bit strong for a 2m, but ideal for a Paragon I later built. A shorter version, or "up start", was great for school playgrounds, with that same big Paragon. Better strong than weak, though scarier.

  • @awuma Thanks!

  • @TheJoker9701

after you know how to fly with bungee you can add 82 feet of rubber tubing and 164 feet of fishing line and you can have a 260 feet height and a chance to catch thermals and so., so you could be flying for hours !!!!

I personally recomend a rubber of 1/4 for rubber planes, you can buy it by weight and at any long! this rubber can stretch more thand the other rubber !!

  • Great camera work well done, the Gentle Lady is a nice RC glider :-)

  • @stuarteggerton Thanks!

  • This was fantasic, to bad the camera was wasent faceing forward!!:)

  • My friend did this, he broke the bungee.

    and his arm.

  • fly 2 more, you'll get a TREE-SOME...

  • @DotCmaker01 Ahahah!

  • Thumbs up for the crash!

  • Now go pick it up, enjoy the walk.

  • Can you face the camera forwards next time? This is too awesome for words!!

  • @TheJoker9701 If you just used the rubber tubing and no tow line, you'd only get about 50 feet of height on launch. Add a couple hundred feet of line to the end of the bungee cord and the launch is that might higher...

  • Nice vid! (from Albuquerque :o)

  • what kind of camera did you attach to the plane?

  • @TheGuitarjammer It's listed at the bottom of the description. Cheap at the time, about the size of a flip, but with an fold out LCD. Perfect for bigger gliders/planes.

  • I love your Thanx's

  • whwt is your record ?

mine is well over half an hour

  • @vietnamisalv Almost a half hour. Have only managed to catch a thermal once, but what a rush. Wish I would have had the camera installed for that one.

  • Excuse me, but I'm pretty sure your camera is backwards :3. Nice shots!

  • well now you know how to get cheap flights

  • how do those planes always manage to get stuck in trees ? i know how it feels i have one too

  • lol the best way to lose a tiny camera and a plane!

  • if only that tree wasnt there, that thing could've flew for miles!

  • Wow that seems like a lot of fun. I got one of my planes stuck in a tree a few weeks ago. Was so high I was scared of falling to my death but I couldn't leave my precious up there lol

  • Same here! Getting too old for climbing!

  • hahaha that was awesome. It was cool when the camera picked you up ..throwing it out of the tree. And for a second there, I thought it landed in another tree. 5 stars!

  • Thanks Sir!

For take-off, that angle worked great. I kind of figured it would be a cool shot, but even I was surprised at how well it worked out.

  • kool

  • Holy crap, looks like you had to climb pretty high to get the glider back!

  • I was only about 10 feet up. Any higher and I would have got out the axe (just kidding)!

  • The crash and rescue from the tree was awesome!!!

  • really cool! thats one long bungee

  • 50 Feet of UV resistant rubber tubing...same stuff they use on sling-shots.

  • right into the tree!!

    nice!

  • Super video !

What kind of camera did you use?

  • Jazz Elite HDV178: low cost, fixed focus, only electronic zoom but it does passable 720P HD. It's about the size of a deck of playing cards.

  • Cool video and point of view.

  • I love this video.

  • i have always wanted to try doing something like this. Awesome!

  • Wow, man Great shots..... Awesome view
