awesome floundering & music ! i used to flounder near st.luis pass on west bay side between sea isle & the pass. your video reminds me of that. thanks!
do you guys know any places to gig around the ocean isle or beaufort area, ive only gigged flounders once at cape hatteras back in november and saw bout 6 flounders and giged 2 legal flounder in 2hours walking
Lol them mullet are a pain to gig. Did yall have a commercial license? I know the legal limit here in florida without being a commercial fisherman is only ten. Those were some nice flounder btw.
@redneckrebel77 Yes, we have a commercial license. We gigged a few flounders up to 6 or 7 pounds yet they get a lot bigger. And the mullets are very tricky to gig, but fun. Im gonna cary my bow next year for the mullets, even more fun! Thanks for watchin
@strikenetter Lol. I have missed alot of flounder tryin to gig mullet. I like the challenge. To bad its illegal to gig reds that would be fun. I think imma just carry my net with so I can get a bunch of mullet with out wasting my time trying to gig a few.
Nice fish man!! How do you like that five prong gig? I have the three prong and have a problem them slideing off. The barbs suck on it!! I made a mini gaff with a #8 hook. It kinda sucks to have to go trough all that, But it works well.
Im in north Fl, and its hot right now. We've got over 200 fish in Oct with 13 over 10lbs...Good times!!
@389jmb The five prong works ok, it just puts too many holes in the fish. The three prong gig will work great but like you say, you have to have some good barbs on it. When i gig by myself i use a one prong, actually its a peice of rebarb grinded to a point. You have to bend over and pick up each fish, but it only puts one hole in em plus you can anchor the fish to the bottom. Pretty work on the gigging and on the 10's. think the biggest fish i gigged this summer was only 6lbs.
great video man, that looks like a homemade boat even if it's not it's still a cool boat !
