  • I have an Akita, they really are soft. His name is yogi

  • I think those "experts" r talking bout the american akita...

  • Akitas are mean? A lot of people in my community own them, and their all very sweet and caring :P

  • omg i want to pet an akita now so bad. they look sooooooooooooooo soft.

  • After i read Hachiko waits, i really want Akitas, i loveeeeeeeee that book

  • Hachiko i <3 you :D

  • hachikooooo

  • hachiko <3

  • my antie has loads od american akitas and 2 japanese akitas

  • American akitas these arent Japanese Akita inu's.

  • i never notice how many different dogs are out there =) its pretty cool lol

  • I have an akita and it is sooooooooo sweet it depends on how you train the dog but yah it is very protective and akita is my name backwards which is really cool!

  • if any dog bites, its the owners fault not the dog... dumb experts raise them right

  • high list for biting and agression? excuse me but the dog Hachiko proves your statement wrong

  • Check out my Akita puppies on my page =] I tried uploading a video response but i guess it didn't work

  • We have to remember that these are not real Akitas, they're American Akitas...

  • I'm a fan of Haciko.

  • Very loyal. Proven by Hachiko.

  • My favorite kind of dogs.

  • Hey it's Hachi!

  • Esse ai não é um akita, é um grande cão japones, ou akita americano, ele é mistura de pastor alemão, com akita inu, seriam umja unica raça, mas não são por causa da briga entre os assiaticos e os americanos!

  • They look asian! :)

  • this video of husky and malamute is pretty good

    /watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TwSffaXe7VA

  • No offense to American Akita and those who own them but I just love the orange/white Akita Inu, like Hachiko

  • If they're so violent why is everyone hugging on on in every video clip

  • @MrAnimedude11 Akitas may be more prone to violence than some other breeds but if trained properly can be friendly. It's more to do with the person and the way their brought up. Bad trainers make bad dogs.

  • @MrAnimedude11 I had an Akita that died two years ago. We adapted him from a dog shelter when he was already 2 or 3. We never trained him, but he was most faithful, loyal, calm and smart dog I ever seen. When I was a student, he used to see me off at the corner which was 3 blocks away from our home, and he waited at the entrance of our garden when I came back from my school. When my mother got a heart attack on the street, he brought someone to help her so my mother was rescued.

  • I love my Akita, Thor.

  • Animal Planet. Y U NO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT HACHIKO? </3

  • @itsGaby63 who or what is Hachiko?

  • @gammatnt /watch?v=Y6U7mAnPtw4

  • @gammatnt Akita from Japan. Everyday, he waits in the train station until his owner comes back. One time, his owner never came back but he still waited everyday. Now he's dead and he has a statue in Japan.

At least that's what my brother told me.

  • R.I.P Riki

  • i have an akita called shep and he is one of the best family dogs i have ever had

  • I have an Akita, Kenji. He is by far the sweetest thing in the world. It's so cute because he doesn't know how to bark and just snorts or wines. I love him :))

  • @meghan052410 how is Kenji react to visitors or strangers? is he friendly to them?

  • @gammatnt He actually acts very well. He loves people and gets so excited when he meets new people. Sometimes he gets excited and tries jumping but we are working on that. The key to a friendly dog is just to bring him around people as much as possible. And that's what we do. We bring him for rides and everywhere we go.

  • amazing beed

  • my akita looks like the one at 3:20 except very very white ... ive had no problems with biting ive had him since 2 months n he has been great since! ... idk what these guys r talking about .. its a great family dog i had another one wich sadly died froma large bread health problem.... best dog ever strongll recomend getting one

  • Its dangerous to go alone, take this with you 2:22

  • i want one!

  • I have a brindle akita, and he's the BEST dog. He lets my 2-year-old brother jump on him, play with him, and terrorize him. lol. He barks at whoever walks by my house, and is very energetic. He likes to jump though... He is brindle, and I just love him. If you're looking for a dog, Akitas are amazing.

  • At 2:06 the guy looks like my best friend.

  • watch?v=gMorAsNWfi0

  • thats sooooo not true! my friend has like a whole bunch and they would only hurt some one if they hurt their owner!

  • Akita's? Violent? Wtf are they talking about? Some of the most devoted and loving breed, but not violent or primitive.

  • What a beautiful dog.

  • I've never met a mean Akita. I don't know what these "experts" are talking about.

  • @AdaptiveReasoning It always depends on the person owning the dog and how the dog was raised/treated. There is an Akita that lives near by me and the people never trained it and let it wander and has tried to attack me and has attacked my dog on my own property!

  • @GuardianAngelFanga There are two that need rescuing at the Capital Campaign for the Marion County Shelter. I tried to post the link here, but it wouldn't let me. Check them out on Facebook.

  • I own an Akita! He is so adorable! His name is Hunter because the breed is ment for bear hunting. Hunter is a big old wuss though. He is scared of my little vicious jack russle! He is only ten months. I hate how people think they're the worst dogs you can have. They're not at all. Hunter does she ALOT!! I love him(:

  • The most loyal dog ever--Hachiko

    Breed--Akita

Story:His owner worked as a professor and everyday Hachi would wait for him on the train station till he came from work.one day his owner died while at work from a heart attack. Hachi waited for him in the station waiting, waiting, and waiting but his owner never returned,he's adopted but always ran away back to the station, waiting....for 9 yrs waiting.one night Hachi returns to the train station late at night and closes his eyes for the last time.

  • @NikkoAndCourtney is that base on the true event? so sad :(

  • @gammatnt yep. here's the trailer: /watch?v=Y6U7mAnPtw4

and here's the hachiko statue that is in japan right infront of the train station that he waited for 9 years: /watch?v=Vl2hWg7c0X4

  • i want an Akita, and we're thinking about taking two dogs, since we arent always at home. i love extremely close to my school though(about three/ten minutes walk!) and i will walk them every day, about two hours. i was thinking about an Akita and a male Kai Ken Golden Retriever, so they're not alone, is it possible to take two? or will the Akita still become too teritorial? i will take both dogs on the same day at the same time at home

  • @GuardianAngelFanga if they're raised together, they should be fine.

If you want to be super safe, make sure they are opposite sexes and if you don't want them to breed, have them infertilized.

  • @dondondodo yes, they will be raised togehter, they also will be opposite sexes and i am not sure i want to breed them, maybe just once, and then let them both get infertilized ^^ thanks :)

  • I have an Akita mix .. raised her since she was 3 weeks old.. she's 11 now. Very sweet dog but is a protective dog... listens to me her momma. Had a heck of a time training her but it was worth it! Also is great with my kids.. and always was.

  • 2:06-Hashiko :D

  • so, an oversized Shiba Inu? ;D

  • I have few videos of my youngest Akita, under chuychuy916 or Akita Royalty.

Akita's are caring and loving, see for yourself.

  • These people don't know much about Akita's but simple useless talk. Anything to put a video on YOUTUBE. Takes time and knowledge to understand an Akita like any other animal. Not because you read a book and watch few video it means your expert and you make your own video. I been around Akita's all my life and none of my Akita's or any other Akita I have come across has never gotten crazy with other animals or humans unless they need to protect themselves or there masters.

    Akita's are great.

  • I've got an akita she's the sweetest little thing! she is territorial and aggressive to strangers but she is a cat in a dog body when it comes to me or my family. Shes a lapdog, she follows my mom everywhere!

  • R.I.P Hachiko

  • @CamaroJackRussell i was about 2 say that when i saw the vid thumbnail! :P

  • i had one of these dogs for a day .. it attacked me .. i love all dogs and all animals but i would never never ever get ones of these again .. prob better kept as a working dog .. BUY SHIBA INU!

  • I wanted to get an Akita based on the movie Hachi and the true story behind it and his owner because of the loyalty towards its owner. My bf doesn't want me to get this dog cause he doesnt want me to get a dog that will become bigger than me when he gets older so we are getting the second best thing the Shiba inu! After reading all the facts about the Shiba from other owners I am officially in love with that breed and can't wait to get a Shiba! It is very similar to an Akita!

  • I found my Akita in the street, she's now 8 years old (2 years with my family) and she never attacked one of us.

  • @ellojello818 Let me help you get your facts straight. Hachiko is a Akita Inu. In the movie they used a Shiba Inu puppy to show Hachiko as a puppy, but doesn't mean he IS a Shiba. I have known of Hachiko for years now(i did not learn of him from the movie). Would you put true history facts over a movie? Movies based off of events or books don't really have the right info?

  • Dalmations wonder if this show will say crazy as hell.

  • 2:05 that one

  • he looked like Hachiko the golden Japanesse Spitz

  • I've got two, they can be seen on my channel.

  • ATTENTION HACHIKO LOVERS: HACHI WAS NOT AN AKITA, HE WAS A SHIBA INU :)

  • @ellojello818 he was an akita inu

  • @DogSoldier011 Nope...

  • @ellojello818 where are you getting ur info from ?

  • @DogSoldier011 From the movie

  • @ellojello818 Shibuya Station.was the name of where he died the dog was an akita inu

a shina inu is way to small.

  • @DogSoldier011 In the movie they used a akita but in real life he was a shina inu

  • @ellojello818 no he as a jappsense akita.

  • @DogSoldier011 Are you sure?

  • @ellojello818 uhhh it says it in over 100 history books :P it was in fact an Akita inu

  • @DogSoldier011 Noooo it said during the behind the scenes the REAL hachi was NOT an akita, just in the movie he was but not in real life

  • @ellojello818 and in the movie bolto it said he was part wolf which he wasn't films are never correct ..

  • @ellojello818 Here's wiki to the rescue: wikipedia . org / wiki / Hachikō

  • No in real life he was an Akita! The statue that the movie was based on was an Akita dog in Japan! In the movie they used an Akita! Look it up! Shiba are smaller and looks more like a fox and act more like a cat while an Akita looks more like a wolf!

  • @ellojello818 That's wrong dude. They just used shiba as baby Hachi but the rest of the movie they used Akita as in the real life. It's easy to look it up online.

  • @ellojello818

There's a difference between a movie and real life.

Movies tends to change certain things.

  • the american breed is so much uglier than the akita inu.

  • akita's don't bark though...

  • @monstertruck900 hmm... at times they do... when not happy...

  • My buddy has an Akita and it is one of the most well behaved dogs I've ever seen. It isn't fullbread, his grandfather was a German Shepherd. Its Dad was a German Shepherd/Akita mix and his Mom was full breed Akita. But it puts up with my little shit dog (puggle). I've never seen it get territorial.

  • @Binxes11 Mongrel mob

  • JAPAN LOVE USA, I IIKE

  • Akitas are known for bites and cacausian ovcharka aren't? Cacausian ovcharka are way more protective and a lot bigger

  • Having grown up with Akitas, this video annoys me every time I see it.

  • Akitas are wonderful. Very intelligent, very protective and faithful. Must be the smartest dog that I have seen. Truly the perfect guard dog and family friend. Though a basic training is of course needed. In our case it was because the akita always saw himself as the alpha of all the canine world, was often quite aggressive towards other dogs especially to those he saw as competition. You truly should have to earn the right to be an owner of an akita.

  • @khekhem "You truly should have to earn the right to be an owner of an Akita."

Best line I have ever read regarding Akitas.

  • We researched this breed before we bought ours 8 years ago. We thought that the information provided couldn't possibly be true-so we brought him home. Well, it was all true and after many-many-many training classes and a few "Growl" classes, he became a beloved member of our family. I can't imagine life without him. He is also the best watchdog/guard dog /alarm system-and all instinctively-no training needed there! When he goes,I hope to rescue Akitas-in his memory.

  • My favorite Akita Inu? Koromaru from Persona 3!

  • I'd love to get an Akita along with my malamute. I once went to a ski resort up in the mountains and the owners had their tiger striped Akita wandering around the trials greeting people. He was a sweetheart !

  • @F50Italia Akitas tend not to do well with other dogs, when I was young I had one named Ben, he was the nicest dog in the world and was so gental with small kids.

  • @F50Italia I actually have a malamute and an akita living together. We got ourselves the malamute when the akita was 2 years old, so he was pretty much a father to the malamute and a very careful and caring one. To this day, which is about 7 years later they get along wonderfully.

  • Well, I know for sure when I saw this on TV Hachiko was mentioned. It was actually the focus dog for the akita topic. :P And it was where I first heard of Hachiko, so I don't know what's up with this video.

  • Akita's are so kool

  • @omynoodleness1989 At least people don't question children being around my breed

  • @cheechanchux they don't question that round Akita's tho -__-?? i have an Akita and i get TOLD that hes adorable and other cool stuff like name meanings and stuff so :p and never mention how they're with children because it is quite obvious as every time i see someone else with one there's a crowd of people (especially children) like aww but i don't see that with doberman and they tend to say ''is IT friendly?!'' which is pretty funny xD but dobermans are okay but nowhere as good as the Akita

  • this doggie is sooo sweet, if you're sweet to it. My friend has one and heard stories of her akita being aggressive if you play with them aggressively. hearing this, i've been gentle to them and her dog is just as gentle and sweet to me ;) such a beautiful, flush-y doggie :)

  • ...Dobermans are better

  • @cheechanchux shut up fool. you don't know hachi for sure thats why you can say that dobermans are better. do some research asshole and find out how loyal and loving these akita's are... .!.

  • were is Hachi?!

  • Border collie owns

  • So how long do they live for. 101 my tits

  • Am i right if i i say here thats japanese akita is really true akita and comprare to american akita it's absolutly diffrent dog and character? I think the american could be more agressive sometimes and in some cases more dangerous, japanese akita is real true akita like Hachiko, am i right or wrong?

  • @involverrrrr I think there are two different types, Japanese Inu Akita, and The American Akita and im sure both of them , in some cases i have seen Inu Akitas are less agressive then american akitas, but i believe its all how u raise a akita. I think Akitas are very intelligent, and with the right training i never see them being a problem. Kids jump up and down on my akita, thats because when i was training him,i jumped and rolled around with her. Both are Akitas just different in looks and area

  • @involverrrrr A lot of American Akitas have mastiff blood in them, that gave them a little more aggression, as well as more of a sturdy broad build. American Akitas also carry colors unlike Japanese Akitas due to that mastiff blood. (black or brindle) Both American and Japanese have the loyal instinct like Hachiko, so which ever you have will be just as loyal. :] Yay learning from youtube! Akitas are beautiful and amazing dogs, I'm lucky to get to grow up with these guys.

  • This Akita, Evita, just won't shut up.....

  • Yeah, remember that this is general information on them and that each is different. We had two Akita's and they were the friendliest, loving dogs not just to us, but everyone and every other animal. They weren't that territorial at all either and enjoyed other animal company. In fact I don't remember them EVER being aggressive or angry... ever. Once you find what motivates them, they are trainable at an amazing rate.

  • If you'd like to see a 3 month year old akita/boxer visit my channel! He is very cute! I upload new videos every Tues +} THurs

    ~H2oFormula

  • I do not like how negative they put down the breed. I know lots of people with Akita's and they are very well-behaved, social to other dogs and very fixated on ranks. With the right treatment, the right training and the right state of mind of the OWNER they are a wonderfull breed.

  • @cvn16 I agree, but I thik the idea is to avoid from any impulsive people thinking the dog is a great breed all around, don't do any research, and end up giving the dog up to the shelter. However I think people like that arent very smart :p

  • @cvn16 I agree they CAN be sociable but if you want a social dog as far as strangers (humans and other animals) go it's not a safe bet. I'm an owner of my second Akita

  • @Greeneyez2475 It seems like American Akitas are a little bit more difficult than asian or european Akitas, maybe cause of some mix between race. Akita are very cute and sociable. I have a shiba and shiba are more lonesome than akitas ^^

  • If i raised one from birth with my cat..could they get along??? please get back at me sombody..

  • @NappsDhaKidd YES!! Akitas are so sweet. Mine loved the cat he was raised with, all the other cats he lived with and the birth of my son--he turned into an angel dog, Leeroy was 8 yrs old, and loved him so much. He never hurt anyone his 13 yrs alive, they are the best dogs. I do recommend a boy, in my opinion. And the only thing is they are crazy as young dogs, kinda hard to train, but its no big deal to me. They are so loving and kind to a loving kind owner(s).

  • @NappsDhaKidd I know you already got an answer, but my dog sometimes gets jealous about my cat.

But in general my dog won't hurt my cat because the dog knows that he will hurt the owners feelings and his trust. So these dogs won't hurt the cat just because it's a family-dog.

  • @emre1234111 Nicely said :P

  • Akita went into near extinction during WW2, because mainly because food shortage. Akita is a big dog, eat a lot, so having Akita was considered as not supportive to Japan's war, and anti-Japan. And as told in the video, dogs were culled to get fur. The only dog allowed at that time was German Shepperd which were used for military dogs. But anyway, some kept Akita even that time so we have them now.

  • I love Akita, because my first dog was Akita dog. This dog is very good for my fimily. However, My akita attacked my uncle when he touched me. Yes, Dog protected me. But it was very dangerous.

Honesty, Akita is good dog for my famiy

  • I have 2 Akita's in a Condo and they just do fine. My female is miss meet and greet. My male aloof. I love them both. I do agree about the shedding and I do agree that they are not a dog for most people. You need to put a lot of time into each of them and you need to socialized them and you must be alpha in your pack they will read you better then you can read yourself.

  • I had an Akita named Nanook (bear) in inuit but she died when i was 7 she was 14 when she died

  • Hachiko was an Akita...and to this very day, his story makes me cry!!!!! In Japan, he has his own statue to remember his loyalty!

  • My Best Friend and loyal companion!!! I adopted a female Akita 10 years ago. Best thing I ever did!!!

  • HACHI -3333

  • @scoot24925 So why should not?In my village is a akita!

  • My boy: /watch?v=HWnQ3HvBeIY

  • RIP Jedi :(

  • wait, what breed American AKita are?

    they not orignal Akita inu.

American Akita look bigger than Akita Inu

why call Akita if they are mixed with another breed?

they are half Akita inu and Half what?

  • @gyrules American Akitas aren't half breeds or mutts. American Akitas and Akita Inus are all from Akita gene stock. We just favored breeding Akitas with traits that we liked, and the Japanese favored other traits. They're derived from the same breed with no other breeds mixed in. Kinda like how all humans are humans, but you can see different traits between people in different regions.

  • @zdkezios Your 100% right!!! The American Akitas are offsprings from there Japanese relatives.

  • I love my little girl, I could never have another breed.

  • Akitas are indeed very hard to handle BUt their loyalty is never broken!

  • The best dogs of the world

  • AH, I just saw the movie Hachi. now I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY want one.

  • @ybz17 If you want one because you saw a movie, don't take an akita, akita is a very cute dog but he requires a good training, akita is not just a teddy bear. Many of them were abandonned since the movie :s

  • when im a little older, im gonna get a akita and name him hachi <3

  • I love these dogs. If I do ever get one, I'll call it Neru. XD

  • I love my Akita
