yes when you jailbreak your iphone wich you have to do first you void your warrenty but if anything ever goes rong you put the phone into dfu mode and restore and you still have apples support but anything apple can do is on the internet so there is really no need to restore

after I succesfully unlocked my 3g and tested !, the next day it would work anymore. I tested on my Telfort sim ( dutch provider ), and the next day it didnt work anymore with another Telfort sim. ok so what your going to do is plug the phone into your computer and hold the power and home button together for 12 seconds than let go of the power button but keep holding the homebutton til itunes pops up then just restore if your running an unlocked sim card like t-mobile just take the sim out first plz subscribe if i helped u out.
