  • Hero Nakamura :D

  • Im kinda undecided between an Es 335 reissue and a gretsch duo jet to play mostly some early beatles, rockabilly and led zeppelin, maybe some RHCP . Im saving up so anyone knows which guitar should i take?

  • ... Man your place is like Bat Cavern, like in Batman, batmobile

  • When you turned on the JTM45 were you facing the speaker cabinet? If so, how is it that you didn't get any feedback?

  • You should have played Chuck Berry since he was probably the most famous one who used that guitar.

  • Very nice guitar and some great playing. My only comment is that Clapton used the neck pickup with the tone rolled back a bit for 'Crossroads' but you covered that a bit later in the video.

  • You are just like phil x but more serious badass riffs though

  • I paired mine up with an AC30 years ago.... absolutely the best marriage.

  • i´m between this and the rickenbacker 330 =(

  • @lui505 gibson is definitely more versatile, depends what you want really

  • @invictorium thanks i finally bought the 335 !

  • All those guitars . . . U jammy b******* !

  • Ritchie Blackmore used these guitars in the early Deep Purple days.

    Great sound.

Blackmore picked up the Stratocaster later.

  • wow this guitar is so beautiful oo

  • Great video

  • I just got a ES-335 but had to higher the pickups as i had buzzing on the neck, could this be because its new?

  • great review by the way! :D

  • can you tell me whats the year and model of the guitar that's right behind you? the gibson es-335 td? it has an inlay in the 1st fret? is that normal?

  • That is such a beautiful guitar, I hope you realize how lucky you are!

  • esta muy bkn esta guitarra para ti chino qlo

  • You're the most understandable asian i have ever heard. Thank You.

  • I totally agree. I've gone through about every guitar/amp combo that's ever been on the market since the early '70's, as well as vintage equipiment. Among others, I currentl own a minty 1990 ES 335 Dot. I can play any genre on this thing, and it sounds absolutey fantastic with them all. I play through vintage Fender and Marshall amps, and couldn't ask for a better rig. I highly recommend the 335 to anyone and everyone. Extremely versatile, and plays like butter.

  • Wow your collection of guitars and equipment is fantastic! And thankfully you can play really well too, nothing worse than a poor guitarist with great guitars! Really enjoy watching your videos. :)

  • Great review, I espically enjoyed your review on the les paul junior dc.

  • Excellent info - nice listen to an eloquent speaker who knows his facts.

  • My dream guitar!!!!

  • His doctor says that both him and his wife are sterile, but I'm still convinced hes my father...

  • strats and teles are also very versatile LOL

  • thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you helped me a lot,is this a perfect guitar for someone who loves 50's rock 60's beatles etc,pop/rock and sometimes wants to be heavy?what other guitars do you propose me?

  • Nice vid man! I think the 335 has a great jazz tone without having to roll the tone down, the warm jazz comes from the fingers. When players turn the tone down to play jazz it just sounds muffled, maybe warm, but the guitar doesn't breath.

  • Nice gear Dave. I disagree about the tailpiece height though. I like to screw mine right down on my Gibsons, but load the strings through the front then wrap them over the top of the tailpiece. This addresses this issue of too great an angle at the bridge (Billy Gibbons is a notable example of another player that does this).

  • @Rogerrumjet You are correct, I just don't like marking up that vintage tailpiece.

  • @MrVintagemusic Yep, I would definitely buy a new tail piece, and put the nice original aged nickel one in the case. What I also like about doing the "wrap around" is the palm feel of having the six strings creating a surface directly from the top of the stop tailpiece to the bridge

  • @MrVintagemusic what strings would you recomend for a 50's fender and a rickenbacker 360/12,

  • @Rogerrumjet Joe Bonamassa Does this as Well..

  • Didn't '62's have a little chunkier neck than the later "tapered neck" design? I own (and play the sh-t out of a mint 1990 Cherry Dot).

  • great player great guitar!!!!

  • Dave. I have a Heritage H535 (similar to an ES-335) made by former Gibson luthiers. Are you familiar with Heritage? How do you rate them? Thanks

  • 335 is cool! hey you are a goodplayer man!

  • mine is a 68!

  • Dave, great video! You really rocked out on that Crossroad lick!

  • Sounds American enough...fuck yeah!

  • guck nich so in die kamera! das macht mir angst! ^^

  • hey could you do a video on that gibson es 355 the one chuck berry plays haha that would be awsome

  • Hey... first of all, thank you for spending the time and passion to post that much good quality videos... Its really interesting and after every video i want to buy a new guitar ... hehe :)

I have a question: may you tell me the height of the pickups in cm? i really like the tone and own a es 335 buy myself, but cant figure out the right height of the pickups. thx you a lot.

    greeting from berlin, germany

  • @flip16hh I often change the height, I just do what sounds the best, it also depends on the amp.....

  • I love the les paul jr in the background:)

  • Great review!

  • i just farted after have listened to this guitar`s sound..

  • Man can rock :)

  • what you said about the tail piece is wrong. you do want to screw it down way you get more resonance. what you want to do is string it like a wraparound

  • i loke when you show the guitar close up to the camera.

  • Asian frettedamericana!!!

  • @KidPanda009

    frettedasia :D

  • @KidPanda009

I realy like his videos (MrVintagemusic's), they are so informative and cool!

  • omg i searched up how much it is and the highest price was over 3000 dollars!:(

  • oh one person missed the like button :)

  • SWEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!

  • you must put a lot of money towards strings

  • Fun vid. You surprised me with the harmonics during the VH tune. Neat guitar, keep up the nice work.

  • man you know your stuff mate

  • damn, i so did not expect this guy. good playing and video, nonetheless. =)

  • You should put together a band, I really dig your rockabilly chops HEHEHE

  • What's the difference between this and a Les Paul. I've seen them both used in similar genres (blues, jazz, rock, etc).

  • @MajorTom106 they are 2 totally different animals, I don't have enough room to go into the differences. Try them both and see what you like....

  • @MajorTom106 everything lol

  • @MajorTom106 The biggest difference, would be that the 335 is a semi-hollowbody, and the les paul is not.

  • What's the difference between this and a Les Paul. I've seen them both used in similar genres (blues, jazz, rock, etc).

  • I had the tail piece all the way down for 12 years, fixed the height LOL! thanks MrVintage!

  • Mr Vintage have you played the Epiphone John Lennon tribute casino guitar? That guitar is completely hollow check it out

  • Dave, you're a really good player! do you perform live on stage?

  • @WhoTheRollingBeatles Thanks for the complement. I don't play live anymore, I spend all of my time recording my own material. I hope to have it out some time this year....

  • She's a babe!, mine is a 68.

  • So where to from here? Can't takem with you when you go huh?

If you wan't someone to take good care of your least favorite ones even, give me a call. They're not worth $ though. Just good will.

  • how many guitar do you have? damn i would like to live in there

  • How many?......Not enough :)

  • hahaha of course, what do you do for living?

  • @terotele - its obvious this guys making good bank...

  • F-U-N-K sound :P

  • Dave, You rock!!!! Thanks for the video!

  • Dream guitar ! Very nice demo Dave ! Thanks :-)

  • I love the way these guitars look and sound. I tried one the other day and I felt the neck was too thick. If there were a thinner neck available I would def have to try it out because they sound awesome.

  • Very nice demo showing the versatility of this guitar.

    First rate.

    Cheers,

  • thats a nice tone! Great woman tone. Do you have some pictures of your JTM45? (maybe inside pictures)? I'm building a JTM45 with NOS parts. Do you also have a vintage gibson SG?

    Keep on rocking! =)

  • I am going to do a video about my JTM 45, stay tuned. I used to have a killer '64 SG, but sold it to a friend. It was the best SG on the planet, you could do VanHalen dive bombs all day and it would still stay in tune!
