Well, if watching Lyncara has shown me anything, it seems that wrighters in the comic book indestry just don't know how to wright about relationships. I mean they ripped the fabric of reality just to break up Spider Man and his girlfriend, now it seems people are chearing that Lowis and Sups are no longer together.
Didn't Wonder Woman have a relationship with an Air Force pilot for ages? I seem to recall it was a pretty good one too, at least until her creator died.
Oddly my worst comic shop experience had nothing to do with the staff at Ravenswood comics (New Hartford ((shameless plug))) but this one dick who was ranting and raving and literally yelling over the fact that they didn't have American Virgin which then led to this individual throwing my comics when I went to cash out. Haven't seen him in there since and that god.
Best would be that they saved every issue, even tie-ins, for Blackest Night for me and are doing the same with Brightest Day.
@Bloodthr0e I stand by what i said, She is a goddess not a god. i dont like this modern terminology and since she has roots from ancient greek Goddess suits her more.
@nintwiggy6491 You can have your opinion that goddess suits her better than god, but saying a godess is not a god is factually incorrect. It has nothing to do with modern terminology.
@Bloodthr0e Uh ok dude, i was just referring to her as a goddess because i read her comics books and in her comic books there are gods and there are goddesses. hence she is a goddess to me. Just my opinion. if u dont like it thats all u have to say and leave me alone
At the end of his life, the deadliest gunfighter of the Old West is given a choice: Hell or redemption. He chooses redemption and God's Archangel transports him to modern day Los Angeles to serve bloody, frontier justice on the worst dregs of society.
responding to rtlvkt, yes it does make sense because at times we do see couples like olympic swimmers or wieght lifters or police officers together but at the same time we often see someone for example a big weight lifter marry someone like a secretary who doesnt have the same type of power he has.
In the Justice League animate series, they were developing a romance between Batman and Wonder Woman. That would be a "mortal" that would be a good match with Wonder Woman.
Lol the guy who made the The New Dynamix just so happend to enter my moms work and he gave her the the first edition of the comic book with his autograph >:3
I got 2 comic shops i always go here in toronto (the labyrinth n' the hairy tarantula)
The people workin' there are the coolest...but I also have a coupla stores on the side, just in case the other ones are closed,etc..., for when I need my comic fix.
I watch this show mainly for the dynamics between the three and then the content. I would like to see these guys in a Variety show where they don't just review comics, but films and Video games if you will. A 30 minute show including all of these things would be awesome too!
Maybe it's just me (and it wouldn't be a surprise if it was) but Pop Secret seems to becoming more and more about you three making in jokes than about the comics.
Perhaps you should consider having a YouTube show where you joke around and leave this site for reviews.
Great show fells. If I had a business I would be more than happy to advertise on your videos... but instead I'm a recent college graduate trying to find a career. (A.K.A. I gots no money)
If you don't get too many bites regarding advertisements, maybe you could sell space for personal ads instead. You could call the segment "The Stack's Love Shack."
frankly, I never could see WW with a mortal, just like I never could take the Superman/Lois Lane relationship seriously. It seems only logical that the two most powerful beings in the DC Universe would gravitate to each other.
It's just "The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black Dossier," by Alan Moore & Kevin O'Neill had a lot of copyright problems b/c of their peter pan character. I think they solved the problem by not releasing the book in UK and Europe, which was a stupid solution. Maybe it's in the public domain now. *shrug*
My experience wasn't so much bad....just awkward. I went into a store and admittedly cause I was dressed for work (I worked in a fashion jewellery store) I looked a lil' girly n' prissy. So I start looking around and there are three guys in the store just staring at me. Like *STARING*. It was weird. One continuous bad experience I have is that my local store never has Hack/Slash. IT'S ANNOYING! I have to go all the way to the city to get it then. But they have Y the last man which is good. Yah!
i just now got into comicbooks and i recently went into my first comicbook store. And i had a bag in my hand and the guy must have tought i was going to steal a comic or something because when i went into the back of the store he ran at me and chased me out of the store
Make fun all you want, Alpha Flight was good for the first couple of years. Go Alex!
Bad experiences? Nothing unusual. The guy who didn't bathe... Why do guys like that like to get close to you, like you can't hear them? And the annoying comic store owner who likes to prattle on and on.
This was a good thing bad thing, today I walked in my local comic shop only to be yelled at by the store owner...not that he was mad at me but at himself. Seems the varient Red Hulk number 2 I bought the week before for $20 was going on ebay for a $100 "it was the black/white with colored ironman cover"..good for me, bad for the comic store owner, he seemed to act as though I knew it was worth more when I bought it, I just thought it was cool, and he was the one who showed it to me lol.
I got my ass kicked by a guy named Jesus in a comic book store. I asked him to sign my "Bible", and handed him that one issue of Ultimates 2 where they "execute" Bruce Banner. It insulted him, and that's when the ass kicking began.
Any comic shop that doesn't price there comic books, but instead pull out a price guide to ring you up, don't deserve to be in business. And the local shop that used to do that is out of business now.
It really had to be Gail Simone to write Wonder Woman well. Im loving that series!
I really hope I like FF.
I have had SO MANY bad comic book shop experiences, either people thinking I just dont know what Im talking about, being unwilling to help me, creepily hitting on me, touching my arm weirdly etc. Where to begin...
Ive also had plenty of perfectly sweet experiences in comic book stores! (Not hatin' here..)
This was one of the funniest shows youve done in a while!
Ugh. I remember going to buy some comics at a particular store in Santa Monica and the cashier said "Oh...buying "cape" books huh?" literally with a sneer and a arrogant snobbishness. AT A COMIC STORE. I also got dressed down at Golden Apple from the owner when i was trying to get a job there "You have to know ALOT about comics" and I was like "I do" and he then said "who was the inker in the 1975 issue 5 of Flash" or some crap and then just started blasting me in front of everyone.
Wow that's pretty fucked up.... You should have told him to ask one of his employees that. There's this one girl who works there that doesn't know crap. But she is a girl and i guess comic store owners think we are all lonely horny guys who will keep coming back to their stores just cuz the pretty girl smiles at us.........
