hey kid......a truly fine version of the cry, cry, cry song......wishin that these old fingers could play that song again......peace, love and happiness.......the only chance we'll get
Thanks... I was in the mood to hear this song and your version stands up well to Keeligan's. It surely is an classic folk song and will be for generations.
i love richard shindelle too but this song is actually written by James Keelaghan and if you haven't heard his recording of it you really should. It's amazing!
Thank you for posting your fine rendition of this classic song. I first heard this sung by Richard Shindell with Cry Cry Cry, and I like your interpretation *very much*, too. (Would like hear JK's sometime, too.) Keep up the fine playing and singing!
Hey, buddy. Excellent version. You capture the emotion.
Bin there as a ground crew chief. Had to make decisions as a 22-year old and thankfully, I was never faced with this.
I relied on the experienced guys in my crew - mostly First Nations, Native American, whatever we call them - Indians!! Guys who had been through that many times and taught young, white college students who were appointed their bosses, how it should be done!
It's too bad the crew didn't have faith in their leader. So sad.
We took our seasonal fire crew employees to the Mann Gulch fire this past summer...this song really sums up the emotions that were experienced there. Here's to all that give their lives doiing one of the greatest jobs in the world.
Hi are you Irish?? I'm a singer/songwriter and this is my favourite song. My brother plays it but I must say I really like your version. I'd like to hear some more so if you have bebo or myspace make contact. Well done
Until i started searching for versions of this song there were none, you should thank me! This is better than average, you could work on your timing, but i cannot play a note on anything, so what do i know? Thanks, buddy, decent rendition.
It's a brave man that tackles a James Keelaghan song - the master singer/songwriter - so well done, you captured the atmosphere and emotion of the original recording!
Had to comment again...now got this song under my fingers...great addition to my repetoire.....love these songs with a true historic story. Thanks again. Robin
