Very cool ending for a great game, but the end got me a little confused, did random got completely destroyed or did he end up surviving and rebuilding Metal?

Random shielded Metal from the blast, and somebody rebuilt Metal, we never find out who though (probably a new engineer for Junker HQ, since Harry is dead).

@SaitohYatate He kept his chip safe so I'm assuming after the explosion people searched the area and found the chip with whatever was left of Metal Gear. Randam died though.
