These are not my arguments, these are the issues. Pragmatism~essentially what works: paying a lot for emergency care or paying a little for prevent medicine. My argument is that the US constitution does not provide for universal health care, but if people want it they must amend the constitution and not sneak it in the back door. There's nothing in the Constitution that forbids a universal health care system, just like there's nothing in the Constitution that forbids Medicare, Social Security, and so on. The only thing federal about this issues is the failure of the govt to ensure that states are allowing all insurance companies equal access to their home population. As a soldier I can say that I have done this many times to preserve your freedom. Be thankful that someone cares both about your freedom at home (i.e. the maintenance and care of the constitution) and is willing to defend you abroad (i.e. against those who seek to perpetrate large scale terrorist attacks against innocent Americans).

How can you say that--selfish American!? That is the goal of the Islamist we are fighting: Sharia Law in the US (read some of their demands)! During the Bush years the constitution was certainly stretched, but it was never leaped across as is proposed in HC reform. If you want a public option then amend the constitution. It is bad because it subverts the constitution and subverts my right to the first portion of my income (the same as SS, medicare, etc).
