This GZ Wing Chun empty wooden dummy is for the SPEED, not for the precision. You have to perform it as fast as you can. You could tell how fast this 70 years old Kwok sifu would be when he was young.
Kwok Sifu, like his teacher before him, won't allow video documentation of the form outright. Instead, the motions are intentionally blurred so that you can get an idea of the form without being exposed to the whole thing.
Do any of you knuckle-heads know who Kwok Wan Ping, Sifu is? If you did, then you wouldn't be speaking as if you could possibly find anything to criticize! Personally, I was inspired by watching him perform it;...and of course, he's not going to reveal the entire form in a YouTube clip (LOL).
Well I've seen it done better, but not by anyone more experienced. I think he was manipulated into doing this so he purposefully did the form in an open, wide, somewhat sloppy manner, I have friends who are his students and they attest that he can do this so much more precise. Even the masters can be persuaded, but it doesn't mean they will give anything away!!! Good job!
Anyone that actually understands True YKS WCK, understands that Hong Jong is intentionaly performed with Wider Circular movements as its meant to compliment the small motions of the jong. It rounds out your skills as the jong inhibits some of your freedom of motion, IE you cant follow through with movements. As such in Hong jong you learn follow through.
akpce. Unlike you, he understands that a dummy is just a piece of wood. So he does not limit himself to that small space. He is playing the dummy form, and not allowing the dummy to play him.
Amazing video, in my mind I could hear each hit on the wood (as if it was there)
Thank you for sharing this with everyone.
